Installation Requirements of the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff Battery Backup:

• Operating temperature: battery backup must not be installed where the ambient temperature can exceed 140°F (60°C) or below 32°F (0°C).
• If installed outdoors the electrical outlet MUST be in a weather- proof enclosure positioned at least 12″ (300mm) above the ground.
• This accessory is intended only for use with Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff and the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff power supply. Failure to use in accordance with these directions will void warranty and may cause risk of electrical shock, fire or personal injury.
• Ensure that the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff primary power supply is plugged into a standard wall outlet rated at 15 or 20 Amps.
• Please note that applicable laws and regulations require that these materials be shipped via ground transportation rather than air.

Determine install location for Battery Backup (A). Secure Battery Backup to the desired install location. The Battery Backup can either be mounted on the wall near the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff using #8 screws, or it can be strapped on to a nearby pipe using zip ties (recommended width .140″ or .190″, length 10″ minimum. Battery back up must be installed within 6′ of Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff Installation Spacer Kit and within 10′ to the power outlet.

Ensure that the Power Supply (C) is not plugged into a standard wall outlet.

Plug the male connector from the Power Supply (C) into the female socket on the short cable extending from the Battery Backup (A). Rotate while inserting the plug until plug is fully connected.

Using the long cable from the Battery Backup (A), plug the male connector into the female power connection on the Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff (B). Rotate while inserting the plug until the plug is fully connected.

Re-check all cable connections and ensure they are all properly seated. Plug Power Supply (C) into standard AC outlet. Important: If installed outdoors the electrical outlet must be in a weatherproof enclosure.

LED Explanation:
– Green = Fully Charged
– Red = Charging
– Blinking Red = Error

Maintenance

The Battery Backup module does not require maintenance. However, it is recommended to inspect the module once every six months to ensure the green LED status light is illuminated to indicate it is fully charged. The module is weather-proof against normal rain exposure. If located in an area where directed sprays of water are present it is recommended to cover the module.
WARNING: Battery module and electronics inside unit are not serviceable.

1. Do not modify, disassemble, open, drop, crush, puncture, or shred the product.
2. Flo will not be responsible for any damage to any equipment connected to product other than approved Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff devices.
3. Do not expose the product to high pressure direct water sprays and do not immerse in water.
4. Keep away from open flame, excessive heat, humidity or direct sunlight.
5. Keep away from open high voltage devices.
6. When inserting plug into any live AC outlet, always use caution to wear insulated shoes and avoid any shock hazards.

Warranty

Flo Technologies warrants that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery following the original
retail purchase Extended product warranty available through FloProtect plan.
