Replace worn or broken sockets on a variety of light fixtures in your home.
CAUTION: Use this device only with copper or copper clad wire. With
aluminum wire, use only devices marked CO/ALR.
INSTALLATION
- Turn off power supply before installation.
- Remove the old socket and release wires from the socket.
- If needed, restrip end of wires to expose 3/4 in of copper strands. Be careful not to damage wire strands or insulation beyond the stripped length. Twist copper strands of each wire tightly together.
- Mount socket to fixture mounting stud.
- Loop wires clockwise 3/4 turn around terminal screws. Firmly tighten screws over wire loops. Connect white or ribbed wire (or with color tracer or with silver strands) to silver terminal screw and remaining wire to brass terminal screw. Cut off any loose strands not secure under screw heads.
- Plug in lamp or restore power.
