COMMERCIAL ELECTRIC 81595 2 in Keyless Socket
INSTRUCTIONS
- Turn off power supply before installation.
- Remove existing light bulb or reflector first. Remove candle cover and save.
- Remove cardboard tube from lamp socket. Disconnect wires from old lamp socket. If the wires are soldered to the lamp socket, cut them as close to the lamp socket as possible.
- Remove the old lamp socket, feed wires through bracket, if applicable, and screw on the new one. Loosen the side bracket screws and adjust the lamp socket to the proper height. Be sure to retighten the side bracket screws.
- Strip insulation to expose 1/2 in to 5/8 in of bare copper strands. Be careful not to damage wire strands or insulation beyond stripped length.
- Twist copper strands of each wire tightly together. Loop wires clockwise 3/4 turn around terminal screws. Firmly tighten screws over wire loops. Connect white or ribbed wire (or with color tracer or with silver strands) to silver terminal screw and remaining wire to brass terminal screw. Cut off any loose strands not secure under screw heads.
- Replace the cardboard tube on the lamp socket. Make sure the slot in the tube goes over the protruding rivet pin. This makes the tube resist movement.
- Replace the candle cover. When in place, the candle cover must be at the same height as the cardboard tube.
- Plug in lamp or restore power.
