HOW TO SWITCH OUT THE SENGLED HUB TO ALEXA

  • Navigate to Skill from the Alexa app’s main menu on the left.
  • Use the search bar to look for “Sengled Home.” The search results have to include Sengled Home skill. On the skill, click.
  • Tap the Sengled Home skill to make it active from here.
  • After that, log in to your Sengled Home account and give the Alexa app permission.
  • You should rename the lights in the Sengled Home app to make them easier to identify after integrating your Sengled Home account with the Alexa app. Check the bulbs associated with a scene by tapping on it. You will need to locate them in the device list, so take note of their names.
  • Then, locate the bulbs grouped under the scene in the device list. After that, tap the arrow next to the parent hub’s name. Each bulb can be renamed by tapping the pencil icon to the right of it.
  • Return to Alexa now and select the Smart Home tab. When you get to the bottom, scroll down and select “Discover devices.”
  • You might want to organize your devices into scenes in the Sengled Home app once Alexa has finished discovering them. Right now, there is no way to import your sceneries into Alexa directly from the app. By choosing the appropriate lights, you may, however, reproduce these groupings in Alexa.

Frequently Asked Questions

How bright are these lights? How many Lumens or what would be their incandescent compression?

2700 K, it is not day light, not bright. This does per spec. Awesome bulb Hazzle free setup. Just connected to my IOT Hub in less than 20 secs. Highly recommend this product.

Will these work in a 3-way lamp?

Leave the lamp switched to “on”…. Link the new bulb, smart phone app, hub, (however you choose to control)… Then the bulb responds to the app. (Both the app and the 3-way switch need to be “on” at the same time for the light to turn on)… Dim the bulb with your app, not the lamp switch.

Will this work with a lamp that has a built-in dimmer?

Yes and no, If you are expecting to control the dimmer thru Alexa, it does not work that way. You must turn on the lamp ( leaving it on) then tell Alexa to turn it off or on. You can, once it’s on, manually control the built-in dimmer switch.

Please advise if it works 220 volts or not?

Please know that our Element smart bulbs only works with 110V, they cannot work under 220 Voltage.

Do I need a hub to make the bulb work with my Amazon Echo 2nd generation?

Yes, you do. If you have an Echo plus, you Don’t. Only Echo plus has inbuilt hub (Zigbee). Samsung smartthings is both Zigbee and Zwave enabled. Buy that and link with echo 2nd generation.

Does the bulb work with the iris?

Yes, I currently have mine connected to my Iris hub. However, Alexa doesn’t work with Iris. so, I can’t do voice commands.

Does it work with google home?

If you have Samsung Smartthings it will work with Google home. I’m sure it will work with other Hubs as well as long as they are compatible with Google Home. Works great for me. I have 25 Sengled bulbs throughout my house and I haven’t had any issues with any of them.

First time user here, do I need a hub to make these work or can they be configure directly to a smart phone?

You will need a ZigBee hub. This can be Wink, Sengled’s Hub, Smartthings, etc. (note Philips Hue does not work). If you are tech savvy you can set up openhab or whatnot. If you want a hubless bulb, TP-link sells one.

This is compatible with Samsung Connect?

No, it is not compatible with Samsung Connect.

Looking to purchase these for my sister to use in her bathroom since she is a professional makeup artist. Is the lighting good for makeup? No yellow?

These have a warm white glow (2700K). If she wants daylight white glow, she should get something that is 5000K.

Does this work with echo dot?

Yes, if you have a hub. We have one Echo Plus (which has the built-in hub) and multiple dots that it works with off of the hub in the Echo Plus.

Do these bulbs change color?

No. But there are other bulbs on the market that do. With remotes that are zwave, RF, or infared.

Can these be used outdoors?

I’m not sure that they’re rated for outdoor use but I have been using them outside under covered shades (totally enclosed except for bottom). I live in the temperate Pacific northwest and they haven’t failed yet, but we aren’t close to winter yet so I’ll let you know.

Will this work with a Eufy device?

Our bulbs work great with Samsung SmartThings hub, Wink hub and Echo Plus, they do not work with Eufy device.

Can I use it on 220 electricity?

Yes, you can use it with 220 electricity.
