Frequently Asked Questions

Is this camera water/weather proof?****

My camera has been outside for over a year. Camera works great so for.

Do you have to purchase the monitoring plan in order to use this product?****

No you don’t have to. It will keep data for 24 hrs. for free, but if you want to retain data longer you will need to purchase a plan. They give you a free 30 day trial to see what you want.

Does it work with Google Assist?****

No, it doesn’t work with Google Assist.

Can you use this in a lamp? My outdoor light has an awning over it so it would block it but I’m thinking of putting it in a lamp in the window****

If the lamp aims the right direction (and not straight up at the ceiling), then yes. Keep in mind that it will not work at night through a window as the infrared light and the white light will reflect back on itself.

Can the antennas be left down to save space?****

Yes, you can leave the antennas down the antenna is used to make the camera better at receiving wireless signals.

Can 4 of this units be used at the same time?****

Yes, 4 of the units can be used at the same time.

What is the range of the camera? I see 30ft for the light, so is that the max distance the camera will pick up as well?****

I have got two aimed downwards towards the doors but camera edge shows any activity down the street, and clearly down my drive to across the street, though that activity won’t trip the motion sensor as its range is limited to about 25 -30 ft. from camera.

How long does the light bulb last?****

The light has lasted 3 years now. Camera working fine, however the night vision has stopped working (infrareds almost made 3 years.

Yes, there is a place in the app to turn the siren on or off. I have mine turned off.

Can this be used in recessed ceiling fixture (e26 but bulb is smaller than par 38)? can angled/extender connections make this fit?****

As I understand your question. The answer is yes if you do not need to extend the Wi-Fi antenna (and can leave them folded around the lamp). Mine works fine in a flood enclosure with the antenna folded and the Wi-Fi router about 20 feet away inside the house.

Does the bulb recharge?****

No, the bulb doesn’t need to be recharged.
