Introduction
Using Alexa and Echo, controlling smart light bulbs is simple. Simple voice commands can turn on/off, modify the brightness, or change the color (no hub required). Sengled br30 Alexa bulbs provide sufficient brightness and exhibit 16 million colors with a CRI of 90+ and tunable whites (650 Lumens). 85% less energy is used by Sengled smart bulbs than by incandescent lights. The wireless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Mesh 5.0 technology enables a greater range. A BR30 smart light bulb can still be operated via the Mesh network even when it is out of the Alexa Echo device’s range.
Through the Sengled Bluetooth APP, you can program routines, alarms, and bedtimes for your smart life light bulb. They provide you the ability to set the ambiance anywhere in your house by providing a variety of light, color, and dimmable features. Plug-and-Play setup is quite straightforward. Just screw in the BR30 Alexa bulb to begin using Alexa-enabled devices immediately (automatic linking to Alexa account required).
HOW TO SETUP
- Ask Alexa to discover devicesOR Open the Alexa app to add devices
- Twist in bulb and power on. Now say, “Alexa, discover devices.”
- Or, open the Alexa App> Devices to connect it.
HOW TO PROGRAM
- Select the Menu in the top-right corner of the Amazon Alexa app after opening it.
- Choose Games & Skills.
- Then, choose Sengled from the list after clicking Search and entering Sengled.
- Choosing Sengled Home.
- Decide to enable use.
- Select Sign In after entering your Sengled email address and password.
HOW TO MAKE ALEXA LIGHT SENGLED LIGHTS CHANGE COLORS
Tap the “Devices” tab in the Sengled Home app after opening it. In this example, we titled the Smart Wi-Fi LED Multicolor bulb “Wi-Fi Color Bulb” so that you may choose the relevant bulb from this point. Scroll down and touch “Neon” after choosing the right bulb. By doing this, the lightbulb will change colors automatically.
FAQs
Do I need Wi-Fi to setup bulb?
No, these bulbs are Bluetooth only. Alex can find these bulbs as soon as they are powered on, no Wi-Fi or passwords to setup.
Does this work with any Alexa device?
Alexa is software than runs on Fire tablets, cell phones (as an app), and all echo devices. Once these bulbs are added to the Alexa environment, any Alexa will operate them. BUT, to get these working you need an Echo devise, like the echo dot 4th Gen, that has a BLE (mesh) hub built into it.
Is this bulb suitable for outside?
Most probably. It is an LED light, which does not get hot, where some outside rain or water, can fracture the bulb. BUT, it still requires 115vac, and that can be a dangerous situation if the socket, or wiring, is exposed to severe water situations.
Can I connect these bulbs to an existing Sengled hub?
they cannot work with a Sengled hub, it can work with Sengled Bluetooth App or Alexa( Echo required).
How do I make them rainbow or change colors.
Once you have them setup with Alexa and given each of them a name , you can just tell them what color you want. for instance, “Alexa, set bulb one to blue”. You can also group them with a name and they will all do what you ask simultaneously. “Alexa, set patio to red”. You can also change the colors or brightness or hue manually on the Alexa app.
Can these work with an app and without Alexa or echo? I don’t need voice control, just a way to control the bulbs.
when you don’t have an Alexa device at home, you can also download Sengled Bluetooth app to control these bulbs.
What is the distance from an echo device?
I don’t know the answer since I have Echos all over my house. BUT, since this uses Bluetooth communication between it and the Echo, and Bluetooth is typically 10 meters, that is about 32 feet, I would imagine it would be about 32 feet.
Can they be used outside?
No, they are not suitable for outside.
Do they sync to music?
No.
What the difference between the daylight and the soft white bulb?
Daylight is a bluer light that mimics daylight, which one might prefer in a bathroom or office, where soft white is yellower, a warmer temperature of light, which I prefer for my living room.
Does it have Music sync feature?
No.
What to do if the light bulb keeps flickering?
It’s most likely in set up mode.
Do I have to use these with Alexa? Also, are these ok to use in a covered porch?
In order to control the Bluetooth bulbs, you will need to use the Sengled Bluetooth application or use an Alexa/Echo. If you do not want to use an Alexa/Echo you will need to purchase WIFI bulbs. These bulbs should not be used outdoors.
Will the color stay set if the lamp is turned off manually, or will it revert to white?
If it is turned off, there is no light at all. Neither white nor colored.
Does this work with Google?
they don’t work with Google, they are able to work with Alexa App (Echo required) OR Sengled Bluetooth App (no hub required).
