HOW TO SET UP CYNC DEVICES IN THE GOOGLE HOME APP
- In the same space as your speaker or display, plug in your device.
- If you haven’t previously, set up your speaker or display.
- Launch the Google Home application.
- Tap Add Set up device in the upper left corner > new device
- To finish setup, adhere to the instructions in the program.
HOW TO RESET
- Start by turning off the light for at least 5 seconds.
- For 8 seconds, turn on.
- Shut down for two seconds.
- Continue doing this for a further five times, or until a light bulb flashes. If the light has been successfully reset, it will flash three times.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use voice control if I have a Google home mini?
Yes. You would want to set the bulb up in the C by GE app then link your C by GE account to your Google Home app following the “have something already set up” option on the Google Home app.
Can it be set to gradually light up the room like a sunrise?
We have a similar function in our Cync app that allows you to customize different settings for different times and fade functions within our app. Feel free to contact us for assistance getting that set up or if you have any further questions.
Is this 60w or 9w? I have a 10-w lamp I want a bulb for but I’m not sure if I can use this bulb?
These bulbs are 9.5W and can be used in your 10watt lamp. Feel free to contact us directly if you have any additional questions.
Can the light appearance change from warm to cool?
This device includes all the variations of white as well including warm, daylight, and cool. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
Hard to use in google home, how do I fix it?
Install directly through the Google Home app, don’t use the GE app. Works great for me this way.
Can it be used on 5 ghz Wi-Fi?

When I turn off the bulbs in the c by ge app, the light come back on. lights installed on fixtures with 3-way switch, is this the problem?
both switches in your 3-way switch setup will need to be set to the on position for this to work in the app. Hope that helps reach out if you have any additional questions.
Do I need a certain type of lamp for these? like a smart lamp? or can I put them in any lamp?
You can insert these a19 bulbs in any E26 base fixture including lamps. Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions
Can I use more than one of these bulbs in the same light fixture, and connect them with google home? can they/ will they synchronize?
Yes, you can use more than one bulb in the same fixture. They can all be automated in the Google home app to be controlled individually or together in a group. Reach out to us directly if you have any additional questions.
Can I use these with only Bluetooth and no Wi-Fi?
when pairing these Direct Connect lights to the C by GE app it does require Wi-Fi for setup. We do also sell Bluetooth only lights as well. Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.
Trying to figure out the mac address for my light bulbs my apartment complex has a set Wi-Fi and it won’t let me added them until I have it? ideas?
You can find the Mac address for your lights in the Cync app under Settings>Rooms and Devices>(Select Room Name where your lights are located)>View Devices>Edit this Light. MAC address will be located at the bottom of that page. Feel free to reach out to us directly if you need any assistance.
I plan on putting these in a short-term rental, do these bulbs come with a remote? I don’t think I want every renter to download the app.
No remote. They only work with the app.
Why can’t these bulbs be used in a fully enclosed fixture?
Heat is the enemy of LED light bulbs. Though the LED bulbs may have a similar shape to incandescent or fluorescent light bulbs, the LED chips inside the bulb aren’t that different to the chips in your laptop or other electronics. For this reason, they can’t be used in microwaves or ovens, and some of the larger LED bulbs may utilize a passive heat sink or internal fan to keep the electronics from overheating. Enclosed fixtures that don’t allow for proper ventilation can drastically affect the temperature of the LED bulb, causing it to overheat and shortening the lifespan of the bulb. That’s why some bulbs will tell you not to use it in an enclosed ceiling fan or fully enclosed porch light fixture.
Can these be configured to work as day light bulbs?
This full color bulb has all the variations of white as well including warm, daylight, and cool. We also have scenes in the Cync app to allow you to configure them to change colors throughout the day. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
Is there a way to automate the cycling of RGB colors?
Unfortunately, we do not have such a setting in our app, but I will make mention of this to our development team for a future improvement to our app as it has been requested before.
