FAQs

Does this hub allow Alexa to change the color of my c-sleep lamps, or just dim them?****

Yes, voice commands can be done through the Alexa, for changing color temperatures on the C-Sleep bulbs, when using the C-Reach hub.

Can you use this to turn on and off c by ge wired toggle switches while away from home?****

You do not need one of these to control the switches outside of your home. If you are having trouble with your switches please call our support line so we can help you out. Phone: 1-(844)-30C-BYGE (1-844-302-2943).

Does this integrate with HomeKit?****

Yes. But not officially. It will be a bit finicky and may not work. There is a code on the back of the device. Make sure your phone and c reach are on the same network when adding. You will need to add it manually in the Home app. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.idropnews.com/news/ge-adds-homekit-support- to-c-by-ge-smart-lights-heres-how-it-works/76420/amp/

Does this allow you to turn on or off the C by GE motion sensors?

This device is a hub to allow voice control with our Bluetooth bulbs to Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple HomeKit. The C by GE motion sensors can be controlled through the C by GE app on its own without the need of a hub. If you need more info please reach out to us directly.

Does this allow me to turn off “c by ge” Bluetooth bulbs through amazon echo?****

Yes, it can! But if your intent is to just be using the C by GE app/ Alexa, you may want to check out the Smart Plug as well!

How many bulbs can you program on one c-reach?****

The C-Reach hub can control up to 32 C by GE bulbs.

Will this hub allow me to use the app for automation, and google assistant for voice control? my ge bulbs will currently only use one or the other.****

You do not need the hub for either of these. On the C by GE app, automations are a normal feature. And when using a Google device, the Google Home app is needed to connect the bulbs and you can still set up automations. If you still have questions, feel free to reach out to our C by GE Service Team (844-302-2943) for further assistance.

Does this bridge support 3rd party ZigBee bulbs such as Philips hue?****

At the moment this bridge supports Google assistance and Alexa. I would continue to check the website as we continue to grow the product and see if those will be options for the future.

Does it work with the 3-wire cync smart switches?****

Our C-Reach only works with our Bluetooth Smart Bulbs. Should you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to us and we will gladly assist you further.

Any tips on how to make this bridge connect to Wi-Fi? I tried over 20 times with factory reset every time, followed C by Ge guideline but nothing works.****

After you setup the bulb on the C by GE app you must go to the Alexa app to add C by GE as a skill. You can then add a particular C by GE bulb to Alexa by name or a group of bulbs by creating a ‘room’. Not too difficult and it works well for voice control from anywhere one of your Alexa devices can hear your voice. I am able to as for a single light or all of the lights in a ‘room’. The only time I’ve ever do a factory reset of a bulb is to rename it or add/remove one from a room.

what do high and low light plants have to do with anything?****

Not sure about plants but I tell Alexa by voice command to dim many of my lights at night when I sleep or when I don’t need full lighting.

Can I control more than 1 bulb with a single command****

Yes. You just need to create a group inside the phone app.

How does this help if I already have voice assistance?****

Depending on the type of voice assistance you are using, this is used to bridge control to control of the bulbs using voice commands. Manually control is through the C by GE app. Feel free to check out the webpage www.cbyge.com for more details.

Is this what I need for the Alexa sol device?****

I don’t believe you need on for the Sol. It’s advertised as all in one.

Does this bridge support 2.4 or 5.0 GHz routers?****

this C-Reach bridge can only operate on a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi frequency and will not work on 5g networks. Feel free to reach out to us if you need any additional info.
