LG LMV600VMW Android 11 Smartphone
The Operating System (OS) is the system software that manages your Smartphone.
The OS upgrade policy may differ depending on the country, region, model and
mobile network operator.
- The OS upgrade may not support in your region or country.
- The OS upgrade schedule may vary depending on the region or country. \
Check if your smartphone is eligible for OS upgrades. Refer to this manual when a new OS version is available for your smartphone.
OS Upgrade Guide
Update your smartphone to the latest SW version to upgrade the OS. To update to the latest OS
- Tap Software Update on the notification panel when FOTA (Firmware Over the Air) service is available, or
- Go to Settings and select Software Update.
Once the software update is complete, the smartphone OS will be upgraded.
Before Installation
- Make sure to back up important data saved on your smartphone before performing a SW update. Data may get damaged in case an error occurs while the update is in progress.
- Be careful that the smartphone is not turned off while the software is being updated. Make sure to charge the phone so it has enough power to perform the update.
- Once the OS upgrade is complete, it is not possible to downgrade the OS based on the reinforced security policy.\
Before Use
- After the new OS is installed, some features, services, or apps used in previous OS version may be changed or discontinued without prior notification based on the policies pertaining to apps, services and mobile network operator.
- This manual provides some of the main changes in Android 12. The changes may vary by region, model, mobile network operator, etc.
- For detailed instructions, refer to the User Guide provided on the LG Website. Some instructions in the User Guide may differ as they are based on the previous OS version.
- For inquiries on network services, apps, or operator policies, please contact the relevant mobile network operator.
- The contents in this manual may differ depending on the mobile network operator, software version, app version, user environment, pricing plan, country, region, model, manufacturer’s service policy, OS upgrade status, etc.
New Features
Android 12 offers user privacy enhancements, providing better device control
and app permission transparency.
Camera / Microphone Access Control
Camera and Microphone block/unblock feature is newly added in Android 12. When
the camera or microphone is blocked, it will not function in all apps and
services in order to prevent unintended uses of the camera and microphone.
The camera and microphone can be blocked/unblocked in Settings or the Quick
settings panel.
- Camera / Microphone access control in Settings menu. Go to Settings Privacy Camera access or Microphone access.
- Tap to disable the camera or microphone.
- Tap to enable the camera or microphone.
- Camera / Microphone access control in Quick settings panel.Swipe down the notification bar to access Quick settings panel. Tap the Camera access icon or Mic access icon to block / unblock its access. For easier access, add the Camera access icon and Mic access icon to the Quick settings panel.
- Go to Quick settings panel and tap icon to move icons as desired.
- Touch and hold icon and drag it down to add to the Quick settings panel.
- Tap icon to save the changes.
Unblock the Camera or Microphone
When an app which requires the camera or microphone access is launched while the camera or mic is blocked, a pop-up notification will appear asking to unblock its access.

Tap Turn on to allow the app to use the camera or microphone.
- Once it is unblocked, the same permission will be applied to all apps and services which use the camera or microphone.

Tap Cancel not to allow the app to use the camera or microphone.

The following apps will ask to unblock the camera:
Camera, Dial, Messaging, QuickMemo+ -
The following apps will ask to unblock the microphone:
Camera, Dial, Messaging, QuickMemo+, HD Audio Recorder
Camera / Microphone Indicator
If any app is using the camera or microphone feature, a green indicator will appear in the top right corner of the screen to help the user recognize that the camera or microphone is being used.
- The green indicator will appear in the top right corner after a camera icon is displayed for a second when an app using the camera sensor is launched.
- The green indicator will appear in the top right corner after a mic icon is displayed for a second when an app using the microphone sensor is launched.
- The green indicator will appear in the top right corner if any app running in the background is using the camera or microphone sensor.
- The camera/mic indicator will appear while using the following apps: Camera, Dial, QuickMemo+, HD Audio Recorder
- This feature may not work properly on 3rd party apps or apps from unknown sources.
Device Location Permission
An option to use the approximate location is newly added in Android 12, and users can select from Precise or Approximate when they open an app which requires the location access permission.
- Precise location : Allows the app to access the device’s precise location.
- Approximate Location : Allows the app to access the device’s approximate location.
IoT device controls
IoT device controls helps to control all connected devices easily like Google
Home devices without opening the Google Home app.
IoT device controls has moved from the power button menu to the Quick settings
panel in Android 12.
For easier access, add the IoT device controls icon to the Quick Settings
panel.
- Go to Quick Settings panel and tap icon to move the icon as desired.
- Touch and hold icon and drag it down to add to the Quick settings panel.
- Tap icon to save the changes.
Lockdown
Lockdown mode disables the advanced unlocking measures such as Smart Lock and
Fingerprints to further secure the device.
To access the Lockdown mode, press and hold the device’s power button.
- A screen lock (Pattern, PIN, Password) must be set in order to use the Lockdown mode.
- Go to Settings Lock screen & security Select screen lock and set Pattern, Pin or Password.
Select to Speak
The Select to Speak option can be easily accessed with a shortcut icon.Go to Settings Accessibility Select to Speak and tap to turn on.
- icon will appear at the bottom right of the device.
- Tap the icon, then a toolbar will be shown.
- Tap to play and to stop .
App Hibernation
If any app is not used for a few months, the Android system places the app in
a hibernation state. App permissions will be revoked and the temporary files
will be deleted to free up the storage space.
Go to Settings Apps App info select any app Remove permissions and free up
space.
- Tap to disable the feature.
- Tap to enable the feature.
Special access
Various app permissions are categorized in the Special access menu. Media
management apps and Alarms & reminders categories are newly added in Android
12.
Go to Settings Apps Special access Media management apps or Alarms &
reminders.
- Select an app and tap to grant the permission.
