HOW TO SET UP CYNC DEVICES IN THE GOOGLE HOME APP
- In the same space as your speaker or display, plug in your device.
- If you haven’t previously, set up your speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap Add Set up device+ > New device in the top left corner.
- To finish setup, adhere to the instructions in the program.
HOW TO SET A SCHEDULE FOR LIGHTS AND PLUGS
- Open the Google Home and then tap Routines and then Manage routines.
- Tap Add + or a ready-made Routine.
HOW TO UNLINK CYNC DEVICE FROM THE GOOGLE HOME APP
- Make sure your plugs and lights are on.
- Open the Google Home app
- Press and hold your Cync (C by GE) device’s tile.
- Click Settings > Remove device > and then Remove. When you remove one device, it removes all your Cync bulbs and plugs. The option to remove individual Sync lights and plugs is not available.
FAQs
Please answer clearly what exactly WIFI is needed for with these bulbs. What is the Bluetooth functionality vs the previous smart bulb?
The WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity is for proximity reasons if you are out of Bluetooth range that is where the WIFI connectivity comes in. Wi-Fi is also required to control these devices remotely. Feel free to contact us directly if you have additional questions.
Are these bulbs dimmable?
Yes, but through the APP, Alexa or Google home controls. NEVER use a physical dimmer switch on smart bulbs that self-dim. Smart bulbs control their own dimming. Traditional dimmable bulbs dim by voltage being throttled to them, usually by a physical dimmer switch. Using a physical dimmer switch with a smart bulb is really bad for it. The voltage they receive is supposed to be a stable standard amount. If you put them on a physical dimmer, they could break really fast. It could also cause connectivity issues since these bulbs use WIFI and Bluetooth to connect. If the voltage they receive is throttled, it could mess up those connections
Can these bulbs really be controlled via Bluetooth or wi-fi as the description states, or do they require a wi-fi connection during setup?
They absolutely require Wi-Fi during set-up. Couldn’t find a way around it. Bought them hoping I could just control via Bluetooth but set-up forces a Wi- Fi connection.
What is the color rendering index (CRI)?

Will these work on blue tooth alone?
This is from our Direct Connect line of Cync Bulbs, which are both Bluetooth and WiFi controllable. Additionally, Direct Connect bulbs can be controlled outside of the home. Bear in mind that a WiFi connection is required to use Direct Connect Products. Do these light bulbs require a hub like Phillips?
No, our bulbs do not require a hub! So long as you have a private 2.4ghz network, these will work for your home. Outside of that, all you will need is a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device for the initial setup. If I have six sockets, connected to one light switch, do I need six of these bulbs or can I have one of these and other 5 can be normal lightbulbs?
You can mix these bulbs with other non-Cync bulbs in the same fixture however we do not recommend them to be used in dimmer style switches. Will this work outdoors?

These ge cync color changing a19 bulbs are listed as 60-watt equivalents. I’m looking for one that is a 100-watt equivalent. does that exist?

Can I put 3 in one light fixture and sync them all together?
I don’t see why not. We placed 6 in the 6 can lights but they are all controlled by the same light switch. Conceptually, putting 3 in the same light fixture should be fine if the fixture allows.
I have a lamp, plugged in and operated by a switch on the lamp. if it’s turned off by the lamp switch, can it be turned on using cync/Alexa? how?
The Cync Direct Connect lights require the light source to be powered on. It can however be turned off remotely via the Cync or Alexa apps as long as the lamp or fixture is powered on. Feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions! -Cync Support
what setting and brightness should be used for light therapy?

If I want to use it after hours in red mode, would it provide enough infrared light in a room for an indoor ring cam?
