TECHNICAL DATA

Wear ear protection.
The declared values for vibration and noise, which have been measured according to a standardised test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values have been determined in accordance with
WARNING!

  • The actual vibration and noise level when using power tools may differ from the specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used and the material.
  • It is therefore necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start-up time).

USE

DRIVING
This tool is intended to be run with clean, dry, compressed air at a controlled pressure of 70-120 PSI. The system should include a filter (C), a pressure regulator (A) and automatic lubricator (B), placed as close as possible to the tool, ideally within 4.5 metres. All compressed air contains moisture and other impurities that are detrimental to the internal components of the tool. An air filter will remove most of these impurities and significantly prolong the life of the tool. If a lubricator is not installed, apply five or six drops of oil into the tool’s air inlet at the start of each working day.
WARNING!

  • Disconnect the tool from the air supply before carrying out any maintenance on the tool, removing a jammed nail, leaving the work area, moving the tool or handing it over to someone else.
  • Never point the tool at yourself or anyone else.
  • Conned the tool to the compressed air supply before loading fasteners. Empty the magazine when the tool is not in use.
  • Do not load fasteners when the trigger or safety mechanism is pressed.
  • Always wear Z87 approved safety glasses and ear protection when preparing and using the tool.

IMPORTANT:

  • All fitted components (hoses, connectors, filters, regulators, etc.) must withstand a minimum working pressure of 150 PSI (10.3 bar) or 150% of the maximum system pressure. Assume the larger of these values.
  • Do not connect the system to a system with a maximum pressure over 180 PSI (12.3 bar).
  • Remove all pressure from the tool by disconnecting the quick coupling from the connector on the end of the tool.
  • Never use a tool that is leaking air or needs repairing.

PREPARATIONS BEFORE NAILING

  1. Read and understand the manual before connecting the tool to the air supply.
  2. Pull back the feeder all the way until it latches.

  1. Hold a strip of nails with the pointed ends down (see fig. 1) and put it into the magazine.
  2. Slide the nails forward in the magazine. The magazine holds 100 nails.
  3. Pull the feeder backwards slowly and press the lock so that the feeder is released and can be slid towards the nails (see fig. 1).
  4. Adjust the exhaust deflector so that the exhaust is directed away from the user. Grip the deflector and turn it to a suitable position.

HOW TO USE
IMPORTANT:
Carry out all the steps in the section “Preparations before nailing” before using the tool.

Firing in two different ways

  • The tool can be fired in two different ways. Place the drive guide on the work surface, gently press the tool against the surface until the safety bracket is depressed and then squeeze the trigger. This method is effective if you have a comfortable working position.
  • If you use this method without having a steady hold of the tool, the recoil may cause the safety bracket to be pressed in again, whereby the tool will drive another nail or drive a nail and then fire without a nail. You can also squeeze the trigger and then press the safety mechanism several times to allow the drive mechanism to drive out the nail. You may find this method easier if you are working in a position that makes it difficult to empty the magazine.

IMPORTANT:

  * Take your finger off the trigger when not driving nails.
  * Never carry the tool with your finger on the trigger as the tool will fire a nail if the safety mechanism is pressed.
  * Always hold the tool pointing in a safe direction.
  * Never attempt to drive nails into materials that are too hard, at too great an angle, or close to the edge of the work piece. Nails can ricochet and cause personal injury.
  * Disconnect the tool from the air supply before carrying out any maintenance on the tool, removing a jammed nail, leaving the work area, moving the tool, handing it over to someone else or adjusting it in any way.
  * Clean and inspect the tool daily. Inspect the trigger and safety mechanism carefully to ensure they are working. Do not use the tool unless both the trigger and the safety mechanism are working, or if it is leaking air or needs repairing.
  • The depth to which a nail is driven is regulated by the depth adjustment (A). The depth is pre-set at the factory to the maximum setting. Loosen the screw (B), slide the depth adjustment to the required position and tighten the screw. Slide the safety bracket
    (A) upwards to increase the depth of drive and downwards to decrease it. Now fire a nail and check whether the depth is right. Repeat until the depth is just right. The depth setting determines the amount of air pressure required. Always use the lowest possible setting.

  • Excess air pressure will wear and/or damage the tool prematurely.

  • The tool has a rubber nose pad (C) to help prevent marks on the work surface. This rubber pad can be removed if the nail needs to be driven further in.
    IMPORTANT:

    • Disconnect the tool from the air supply before removing or refitting the rubber pad.
    • Do not squeeze the trigger when the magazine is empty. The tool does not work when there are only two or three nails left in the magazine. The magazine can be filled without having to remove these nails.

Jammed nails
WARNING!
Disconnect from the air supply.

  1. Remove all remaining nails from the nail gun.
  2. Pull back the feeder all the way until it latches (see fig. 4).
  3. Slide back the nails and remove them from the magazine.
  4. Use needle nose pliers and/or a flat screwdriver to remove nails that have jammed in the nose piece. If you cannot remove the nail, it may be necessary to remove the magazine.
