- Swallowing may lead to serious injury or death in as little as 2 hours, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.
- If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery, immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 (Australia) or 0800 764 766 (New Zealand) for fast, expert advice.
- Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment Is correctly secured, e.g. that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.
- Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.
- Tell others about the risk associated with button batteries and how to keep their children safe.
Other warnings
- This heater is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the heater by a person responsible for their safety.
- Keep out of reach of children. Children should be supervised at all times to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- When in use, never leave the heater unattended.
- This heater’s battery compartment cover is secured with a screw. It has been designed so that the battery is not easily accessible to young children. Always ensure that the compartment is secure before use.
- Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
- Always use a heater guard around the heater if used in the presence of children, animals, elderly, or persons with reduced/impaired physical, sensory, or metal capabilities in the absence of adequate supervision.
- This heater supports voltages between AC 220–240V with a frequency of 50Hz. Ensure the socket used to power the heater matches this.
- Do not use this heater on unstable or angled surfaces.
- This heater is for indoor household use. Do not use this heater outdoors or for any other purpose.
- Do not cover or block the air inlet, air outlet, and other openings with anything (for example, curtains, tablecloths, newspapers) as this may lead to overheating, damage, and personal injuries.
- Do not insert anything into the air inlet, air outlet, and other openings as this may lead to overheating and a risk of fire.
- Keep combustible materials (for example, furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains) at least 1 metre away from the air outlet of the heater.
- Dangerously high voltages are present inside this heater. To avoid electric shock, do not open the heater yourself. Contact a professional if the heater must be opened.
- Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the heater yourself. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
- This heater will be hot during and directly after use due to residual heat. Do not let bare skin touch the hot surface of the heater to avoid burns.
- Do not expose this heater to water, moisture, or any other liquid to avoid a risk of fire and electric shock.
- Do not use aerosols or steam cleaners on or around the heater.
- Do not use this heater in areas with flammable solvents, explosive gases, varnishes, or glues.
- Ensure the power cord is visible at all times to avoid a tripping hazard.
- When plugging in, ensure the power socket is accessible and located adjacent to, but not above the heater.
- Never let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it touch any hot surfaces.
- Do not immerse the heater or power cord into any liquid or allow it to be sprayed. Doing so may lead to electric shock, fire, or other injuries.
- Do not place the heater in areas near water or any other liquid (for example, bathrooms, kitchens, near vases).
- Do not use the heater with wet hands or in damp environments.
- Do not place the heater on deep pile carpet or flokati rugs. Use a heatproof board if necessary.
- Do not use this heater to dry clothes or other items.
- Do not place this heater near flames (for example, candles, stoves).
- Do not move the heater while it is switched on.
- Do not use this heater with any third-party devices (for example, a programmer, timer, separate remote control systems, or any other device that can switch the heater on automatically) as this could lead to a fire risk if the heater is covered, positioned incorrectly, or otherwise lead to an electric shock or injury.
WARNING: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertently resetting the thermal cutoff, this heater must not be supplied through an external switching device (for example, a timer) or be connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off.

- Do not forcibly pull on the power cord. When unplugging, pull the power cord out close to the power socket.

OVERVIEW
Control panel
Remote control
ASSEMBLY
Before using the heater, the base plate must be assembled and fitted onto the heater. It consists of two halves.
- Remove the heater, base plate halves, and mounting screws from the packaging.
- Fit the half of the base plate that has the cable channel incorporated onto the bottom of the heater. Clip the power cord into the cable channel as shown below.
- Aligning with the corresponding screw holes on the secured half, fit the other half of the base plate onto the heater and push down as shown below.
- Rotate the assembled base plate anti-clockwise to engage the base plate locking tabs with the heater.
- Using a screwdriver (not supplied), secure the assembled base plate to the heater with the mounting screws.
OPERATION
Placement
Ensure the tower heater is placed in an upright position and that there is at
least a 1 metre clearance around the heater of any objects. The power switch
should be in the ‘O’ position.
Standby and powering on
- Unwind the power cord and plug it into a power socket. Ensure that the voltage used is between AC 220–240V. Turn the power socket on.
- Toggle the power switch (located at the back of the heater) to the ‘I’ position. The heater will then enter standby, emit a beep, and show the current room temperature on the display.
- Press the power button ‘ ’ on the control panel or remote control to power the heater on.
Note:
When the heater is being turned on for the first time (or being turned on
after an extended period of non-use), it may emit a smell or fume. This is
normal and should disappear when the heater has been on for a short while.
Heating modes and temperature
This heater features a low heating (emitting at 1400W) and high heating mode
(emitting at 2000W).
- To change the heating mode, press the heating mode button ‘ ’ on the control panel or remote control. The low and high heating mode indicators will illuminate according the current selected heating mode.
Temperature
The temperature range available on this heater is between 10–35°C.
- To change the selected temperature, press the increase ‘+’ and decrease ‘–’ buttons on the control panel or remote control.
- If the current room temperature is at least 4°C colder than the selected temperature, the heater will engage the high heating mode. If the current room temperature is at most 2°C colder than the selected temperature, the heater will engage the low heating mode.
- When the room reaches the selected temperature, the heating will automatically stop. Heating will automatically resume at the low heating mode when the room temperature reaches 2°C lower than the selected temperature and continue to regulate accordingly.
Timer
The timer allows users to set the heater to turn off automatically after a
pre-set number of hours. To set the timer:
- Press the timer button ‘ ’ on the control panel or remote control.
- Press the increase ‘+’ and decrease ‘–’ buttons on the control panel or remote control to select the desired number of hours (0–12) you wish the heater to turn off after. This will be reflected on the LED display.
- After selecting, the desired number of hours will flash on the LED display four times to confirm before the display reverts to showing the current room temperature.
Oscillation
- Press the oscillation button ‘ ’ on the control panel or remote control to activate the oscillation function. This allows the heater to oscillate left and right whilst emitting heat.
- Press the button again to turn off oscillation.
Flame effect
- Press the flame effect button ‘ ’ on the control panel or remote control to activate the flame effect display.
- Press the button again to turn off the flame effect display.
Powering off
- Press the power button ‘ ’ on the control panel or remote control to return the heater into standby. Allow approximately 30–60 seconds for the heater to stop blowing air. This will help protect the components.
- Toggle the power switch back to the ‘O’ position to turn the heater off. Turn the power socket off.
Note:
If you are planning to turn the heater on again, allow the heater to cool for
30–60 seconds before turning it on. This will protect the components and
preserve the service life of the heater.
Remote control battery replacement
The remote control requires one CR2025 3V lithium battery to operate.

Place the remote control down with the buttons facing downwards. Using a screwdriver (not supplied), loosen the cover screw. Press on the release tab and pull out the battery compartment. Remove the old battery.

Place one new battery into the battery compartment with the positive ‘+’ polarity facing up. If the battery is placed incorrectly, the remote control will not work.
Note:
Do not use a different type of battery when replacing as this may lead to the remote control not working or cause damage. -
Insert the battery compartment back into the remote control and ensure it is secure. Tighten the cover screw.
Overheat protection
- This heater is fitted with a safety overheat protection device. If overheating occurs, ensure the heater and power socket are switched off.
- Unplug the heater and let it cool for 30 minutes. If anything is obstructing the grille, ensure the object is removed.
- After 30 minutes has passed, turn the heater on again.
Fall protection
This heater comes equipped with a safety fall protection switch. It will cut
off the power to the heater if the heater is being knocked over or otherwise
falling. This assists in protecting against a risk of fire, overheating, or
any other accidents.
CONNECT TO SMARTERHOME™ APP
Install App
Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App
Store (iOS).
Register
If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHome™ account, register or sign in with a
verification code sent by SMS.
To register:

Tap to enter registration page.

The system automatically recognises your country/area. You can also select your country code manually. Enter your email address and tap ‘Next.’

Alternatively, you can select ‘Register by mobile number’ and enter the verification code sent to you by SMS.

Create a profile on the next page to define your location and room. Set device in pairing mode
When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (Wi-Fi indicator will be flashing slowly).
If not automatically in pairing mode, ensure the heater has just been plugged in. Without pressing the power button, flick the power switch into ‘I’ position. The heater will enter standby and emit a beep. The Wi-Fi indicator should then be flashing slowly.
Using AP Mode to add a device -
Once registered, tap “+” in the upper right corner of the app’s home page to add a new device through the network.

Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Heating & Cooling > Heaters), and then select “Other Mode” from the top-right corner when asked to reset the device.

Select “AP Mode” for the set-up type.

Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the Wi-Fi indicator flashing slowly, and tap “Confirm light is slowly flashing”.

Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.

Follow the in-app prompts to continue AP Mode connection, which will pair your mobile phone to the device’s Wi-Fi hotspot to ensure a connection.
Note:
If the Wi-Fi hotspot does not appear on your phone in the list of available networks, your device may not be set in AP Pairing Mode correctly. Try repeating the steps outlined above to ensure your device is ready for connection. -
The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.

After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page. Notes:
- The device and the app have to use the same Wi-Fi network.
- The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.
GOOGLE HOME CONTROL
Note:
You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your Kogan
SmarterHome™ device.
Adding “SmarterHome” to the Google Home app
- From the home page of the Google Home app, select the “+” icon to access the ‘Add and manage’ page.
- Select ‘Set up device’, then under the Works with Google banner, select ‘Have something already set up?’
- Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ service.
- Tap ‘Authorise’ to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.
- From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.
- Once connected, the app will display any compatible devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account. From here you can assign them to rooms and set up any routines.
- Tap on any of the devices to view a list of available commands. Note:
Please note that Google Home can only control the base/core functions of any compatible SmarterHome™ devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality, please use the Kogan SmarterHome™ app.
AMAZON ALEXA CONTROL
Note:
You will need to have set up an Alexa account prior to linking your Kogan
SmarterHome™ device.
Adding “SmarterHome” to the Alexa app
- From the home page of the Alexa app, select the “ ” icon in the top-right and select Skills & Games from the sidebar.
- Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill.
- Tap ‘Enable to Use’ to add the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill to Alexa.
- From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.
- Tap ‘Authorise’ to grant Alexa permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.
- Once connected, the app will perform a search and display the devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account.
- When your devices have successfully connected to the Alexa app, you will be able to control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices via Alexa’s voice commands. Note:
Please note that Alexa can only control the base/core functions of any compatible SmarterHome™ devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality, please use the Kogan SmarterHome™ app.
CLEANING & CARE
Before cleaning, ensure that the heater is switched off and unplugged from the
power socket.
Clean the exterior surface of the heater with a dry, soft cloth.
Notes:
- Do not use any detergents or solvents to clean the heater.
- Do not use sprays on the heater.
- Do not submerge the heater in any liquids.
- Do not attempt to open and try to clean the interior of the heater.
Storage
Neatly wind the power cord around the base of the heater to prevent any damage
to the power cord. Store in a cool dry place.
