Product Usage Instructions

Concrete Encasement Installation

  1. Consult local codes for required concrete encasement depth and width.
  2. Ensure proper expansion and contraction control joints and reinforcement for protection.
  3. Add an additional 4 inches of concrete encasement after the end cap if there is a vertical outlet at the end of the run.
  4. Finish the concrete surround level 1/8 – 3/16 inches above the top of the channel edge.

General Installation Guidelines

  1. Verify the trench drain model as MONO 100 (SPORT) by VODALAND or an approved equal.
  2. The trench drain channels should be 39.4 inches long with a nominal clear opening of 4 inches and overall width of 5.5 inches.
  3. The grate opening should be monolithically cast as a part of the trench drain body as a single piece.
  4. The channels and grate should withstand the required EN1433 load class.

Maintenance and Warranty Information
Ensure complete drainage system installation by VODALAND CANADA INC. Any deviation or improper installation may void warranties provided by the manufacturer.

  2. EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION CONTROL JOINTS AND REINFORCEMENT ARE RECOMMENDED TO PROTECT CHANNEL AND CONCRETE SURROUND. ENGINEERING ADVICE MAY BE REQUIRED.
  3. THIS INSTALLATION SCHEME IS A RECOMMENDATION. CONSULT WITH THE MANUFACTURER FOR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  4. IF TRENCH DRAIN SYSTEM HAS A VERTICAL OUTLET AT THE END OF THE RUN, IT IS NECESSARY TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL 4” (100mm) OF CONCRETE ENCASEMENT AFTER THE END CAP.
  5. THE FINISHED LEVEL OF CONCRETE SURROUND SHOULD BE 1/8” – 3/16” (3-5mm) ABOVE THE TOP OF THE CHANNEL EDGE.

THE TRENCH DRAIN SHALL BE VODALAND CANADA MONO 100 (SPORT) AS MANUFACTURED BY VODALAND OR APPROVED EQUAL.

SPECIFICATION:
CHANNELS SHALL BE 39.4” (1000MM) LONG AND THE NOMINAL CLEAR OPENING SHALL BE 4” (100MM) WITH 5.5” (140MM) OVERALL WIDTH AND BUILT IN NEUTRAL SLOPE AS PER SPECIFIER’S REQUIREMENTS. EACH UNIT WILL FEATURE A FULL RADIUS IN THE TRENCH BOTTOM AND FEATURE MALE-TO-FEMALE INTERLOCKING JOINTS. GRATE OPENING SHALL BE MONOLITHICALLY CAST AS A PART OF THE TRENCH DRAIN BODY AS A SINGLE PIECE. CHANNELS AND GRATE SHALL WITHSTAND A REQUIRED EN1433 LOAD CLASS.
