Safety Precautions

  • Ensure your hand is dry when turning the power switch on/off and when inserting/removing the power cord from the receptacle.
  • If the light falls into the water, do not reach for it, unplug it and then retrieve it. If the electrical components of the appliance get wet, unplug the appliance immediately.
  • Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug if it is malfunctioning, or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • The operating voltage must be compatible with the transformer’s voltage requirements.
  • A G.F.C. I (Ground fault circuit interrupter) & surge protector are recommended for all electrical appliances.
  • Ensure the fixture is securely installed before supplying power to the unit.
  • Do not look directly into the light source.
  • A “drip loop” should be arranged by the user for each cord connecting an aquarium appliance to the receptacle. The “drip loop” is the part of the cord below the level of the receptacle, or the connector if an extension cord is used, to prevent water from traveling along the cord and coming in contact with the receptacle.

Installation Instructions

  • Position the fixture over the aquarium by adjusting the legs to the proper length so they securely hold the fixture in place. Always center the fixture so that it provides maximum exposure to light to all aquarium inhabitants
  • Plug the transformer into an acceptable outlet. Be sure to incorporate a “drip loop” to prevent water droplets from running down the cord and into the outlet should any water get onto the cord.

Using Your Controller

    • Daylight: All LEDs are on, brightness can be adjusted by pressing WID or B/N. Press W/D to control the brightness of the white channel, and press B/N to control the brightness of the blue channel.
    • Moonlight: Only blue channel on, brightness can be adjusted by pressing B/N.
  • Hold for 2 seconds to turn all LEDs off.
  • Press again and it will resume to the last mode set.

NOTE:
The brightness of the white channel could be set to 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 5% and the brightness of the blue channel could be set to 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 5%, 0%.

What is Color Temperature?
This aquarium light can replicate an array of different color temperatures, with freshwater aquariums typically requiring a color temperature between 5000K (Warmer White) and 14000K (Bluish White). Some hobbyists prefer warmer white light at low Kelvin numbers (W100%, B0%), others prefer the bluish-white light (W60% B100%), while most prefer it somewhere in the middle (W100%, B100%).

Timer Setting

  • Press and hold , and then press W/D to select daylight duration for 6, 8, or 10 hours.
  • Press and hold , and then press B/N to select moonlight duration for 2, 4, or 6 hours.
  • When the three indicators turn off, the corresponding timer is set to unset.

The graph below is an example of an 8-hour daylight plus a 2-hour moonlight cycle.

Factory Reset

Light can be set to factory defaults when pressing w/D and B/N simultaneously for 3 seconds. This resets the intensity of all LEDs to 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is the LED indicator flashing?
If the power is lost, the LED indicator will be flashing to remind you to reset the timer. You don’t need to reset the light color temperature and brightness settings as it has memory.

  • Why does it take less than 15 minutes to ramp up/dim down?
It will take 15 minutes to ramp up from 5% to 100% (or dim down from 100% to 0%). As the intensity decreases, the ramp-up/dim down time will be proportionally shortened. For example, if the light ramps up to 50% intensity, the ramp time will be half of 15 minutes.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning:
It is important to keep this appliance clean. Unplug and remove the unit from the aquarium. Wipe exposed surfaces carefully with a damp cloth to remove any dust or mineral deposits that may collect over time. Make sure all surfaces are dry before reinstalling.

  • Servicing:
To ensure proper electrical connections and polarity, replacement parts and servicing should be performed only by a qualified electrician.
