SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR POWER TOOLS

WARNING!
Read all the safety instructions and other instructions. Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can result in the risk of electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” in all the warnings below refers to mains-powered (corded) or battery-powered (cordless) power tools.

WORK AREA

Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gas or dust. Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
Keep onlookers, especially children, at a safe distance when using power tools. You can easily lose control of the power tool if you are distracted.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

The plug on the power tool must match the PowerPoint. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use an adapter with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching power points reduce the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into a power tool.
Be careful with the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry or pull the tool, or to pull out the plug from the mains socket. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. Damaged or tangled power cords increase the risk of electric shock.
If using the tool outdoors, only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Cords intended for outdoor use reduce the risk of electric shock.
If it is absolutely necessary to use power tools in damp conditions, use a mains connection protected by a residual current device (RDC). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

PERSONAL SAFETY

Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are doing, and use your common sense when working with power tools. Never use power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention or carelessness can result in serious personal injury.
Use personal safety equipment. Wear safety glasses or a visor. Depending on the type of tool and how it is used, safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets, and ear protection reduce the risk of personal injury.
Avoid accidental starting. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the plug or battery, or lifting/carrying the tool. Carrying a power tool with your finger on the switch or connecting a tool to the mains supply when the switch is in the ON position increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
Remove adjuster keys/spanners before switching on the power tool. Spanners or the like that are left in a rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury.
Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This ensures better control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery, and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
If dust extraction and dust collection equipment are available, this should be connected and used correctly. The use of such devices can reduce the risk of
dust-related problems.
Do not allow familiarity with similar tools to lead to exaggerated self-confidence and neglect the safety instructions for the tool. A moment of inattention or carelessness can result in serious personal injury.

USING AND LOOKING AFTER POWER TOOLS

Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the planned work. The tool does the job better and more safely when used at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the power tool if it cannot be switched on and off with the power switch. Power tools that cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
Pull out the plug and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power tool.
Store power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children or anyone who is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced persons.
Maintain power tools and accessories. Check that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for other factors that could affect functionality. If a power tool is damaged it must be repaired before it is used again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
Use the power tool, accessories, bits, etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools for purposes other than those for which they are intended to be used.
Keep handles and grips clean, dry, and free from oil and grease. Greasy handles and grips make it difficult to hold and control the tool in unexpected situations.

USING AND MAINTAINING BATTERYPOWERED TOOLS

Only charge the battery with the charger recommended by the manufacturer. Charging other batteries can result in a risk of personal injury and/or fire.

When the battery is not in use keep it away from metal objects such as paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects that can short-circuit the terminals. Short-circuiting discharges large amounts of energy that can cause fire and/or burn injuries.
Failure to handle the battery carefully can cause fluid to leak from the battery. Avoid contact with battery fluid. On contact with battery fluid, rinse immediately with plenty of fresh water. Seek medical attention if you get battery fluid in your eyes. Battery fluid can cause skin irritation and/or burns.
Do not use damaged or modified batteries, or power tools that are damaged. Damaged or modified batteries can behave unexpectedly and cause a fire, explosion or risk of personal injury.
Do not expose batteries or power tools to naked flames or heat. Batteries can explode when exposed to naked flames or temperatures higher than 130°C.
Follow the instructions for charging and charging the battery only at the temperature indicated in the instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside the given temperature range can damage the battery and cause a fire.

SERVICE

Power tools must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare parts. This will ensure that the power tool remains safe to use.
Never attempt to repair damaged batteries. The battery must only be serviced by the manufacturer or at an authorised service center.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CORDLESS SCREWDRIVER

Hold the power tool by the insulated grips when working in areas where the tool could come into contact with concealed electrical cables or its own power cord. Contact with a live cable will cause the metal parts on the power tool to also become live–the risk of electric shock.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF LONG DRILLS

Never work with a speed higher than the rated speed for the drill. At higher speeds, there is a risk that a freely rotating drill without contact with the workpiece can bend and cause personal injury.
Always start drilling at low speed and with the tip of the drill in contact with the workpiece. At higher speeds, there is a risk that a freely rotating drill without contact with the workpiece can bend and cause personal injury.
Only apply pressure in line with the drill. Do not press too hard. The drill can bend, which can cause it to break, or you lose control of the tool and result in personal injury.

ACCESSORIES/ATTACHMENTS

Only use the accessories and attachments specified in the instructions and which are compatible with the product.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CHARGER
This product can be used by children from 8 years of age and by persons with physical, sensorial or mental disabilities, or persons who lack experience or knowledge if they are supervised or receive instructions concerning the safe use of the product and understand the risks involved. Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the tool. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the tool without supervision.

Always wear ear protection!
The declared values for vibration and noise, which have been measured according to a standardized test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values have been determined in accordance with EN 62841-2-1:2018.

WARNING!
The actual vibration and noise level when using tools may differ from the specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used and the material. It is, therefore, necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start- up time).

DESCRIPTION

Screwdriver set included in the Meec Tools Multiseries 12 V. With an accessory case that contains 70 drills and bits, a battery (2 Ah), and a charger (0.4 A). The product is intended for drilling and screw driving in wood, plastic, and metal. The product must only be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with these instructions. All other use is considered to be unsuitable.

Incorrect use, inadequate maintenance, and/or illicit use of the product can result in serious personal injury and/or material damage. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for personal injury or material damage resulting from improper use. The product is only intended for household use.

ASSEMBLY

PREPARATIONS

Inserting/removing the battery

The battery is only partially charged on delivery. The battery must be charged before the power tool can be used. Lithium-ion batteries can be charged at any time without affecting their lifespan. Interrupting the charging will not damage the battery.
Charging temperature: 10 to 40°C. Check the battery charge status at regular intervals if the product has not been used for some time. The optimum charge is 50 to 80%. Store the tool in a dry place. Storage temperature: 0 to 50°C.

IMPORTANT:
Pull out the charger plug from the power point before the battery is connected to, or disconnected from the charger.

Press the battery lock (arrow 1) and push the battery to the right (arrow 2). FIG. 2
Put the battery in the battery charger.
Plug in the plug. The red charging indicator light goes on.
The green charging indicator light goes on when the battery is fully charged. FIG. 3
Replace the battery in the product.
The battery can be hot after use. Allow the battery to cool before charging. FIG. 4

Checking the battery charge

The charging indicator light shows the battery status as follows when the product is started.

Red, orange, and green = fully charged.
Red and orange = partially charged.
Red = discharged. Charge the battery.

Replacing bits/accessories

The product has an automatic spindle lock
The drive unit is locked when the motor has stopped and the quick chuck can be opened by twisting it clockwise. Insert the required bit/accessory and twist the chuck anticlockwise. The spindle lock is released automatically when the motor starts (power switch pressed). FIG. 5

2 gears

IMPORTANT:
Do not move the mode selector when parts are rotating, this can damage the product.

Gear 1 (mode selector in position 1)
Speed up to approx. 350 rpm and right-hand torque. This mode is suitable for screwdriving.

Gear 2 (mode selector in position 2)
Speed up to approx. 1300 rpm. This mode is suitable for drilling.

Removing the chuck
The quick chuck must be removed to use the bit adapter.

Removing the chuck

Firmly grip the quick chuck from the front.
Press the chuck ring against the chuck.
The chuck releases and can be pulled loose.

Fitting the chuck

To replace the chuck, pull the chuck ring towards the chuck.
Put the chuck over the bit adapter.
Release the chuck ring so that the chuck clicks in place.

NOTE:
If the chuck does not click in place automatically, twist the chuck ring.

Using the bit adapter
The bit adapter can be used when the chuck has been removed.

Put the required bit in the bit adapter.
Press in the bit as far as it goes in the bit adapter.
The guides and magnetic holder hold the bit firmly in place.
Pull the bit out of the bit adapter.

USE

DIRECTION SELECTOR/POWER SWITCH LOCK
Release the power switch lock and change the direction of rotation by moving the direction selector to the left or right.

Switching on/off

Starting
Start the product by pressing the power switch and holding it in. The work light goes on when the power switch is fully or partly pressed. The work light simplifies working in dark areas. FIG. 6

Switching off
Switch off the product by releasing the power switch.

Adjusting the speed
The power switch on the product provides variable speed control. Press the power switch a little for low speed. The speed increases the more the switch is pressed. FIG. 7

NOTE:
The integrated brake function in the motor ensures a quick stop.

Mode selector

Use speed mode 1 (low speed) for small screws.
Use speed mode 2 (high speed) for large screws. FIG. 8

Rotation selector
Move the rotation selector to the left to screw in the screws. Move the rotation selector to the right to unscrew the screws. FIG. 9

Torque setting ring
Set the required torque with the torque setting ring.

Set a low torque for small screws and/or soft material.
Set a high torque for large screws and/or hard material, and for unscrewing screws.
Set the drilling mode by twisting the torque setting ring to the position that shows a drill.
Move the mode selector forward for drilling (mode 2). FIG. 10

Activate the power switch lock
Move the direction selector to the midpoint. This locks the power switch.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Always check before use that the bit is correctly fitted and centered in the chuck.
Screw bits are marked with size and shape. If unsure, check if the bit fits the screw head without any play.

Torque
Small screws can be damaged if they are driven with high torque or speed.

Screw unions in hard materials (for example metal)
The torque is very high for metal screw unions tightened with screw sleeves. Use a low speed.

Screw unions in soft material (for example soft wood)
Use a low speed to avoid damaging the wood in contact with the screw head. Countersunk screw hole

Note the following points when drilling in wood, metal, and other materials

Use high speed for drills with a small diameter and low speed for drills with a large diameter.
Use a low speed for hard materials and a high speed for soft materials.
Secure the workpiece if possible with clamps, clips, or in a vice.
Mark the drilling point with a punch. Start drilling at low speed.
Pull out the rotating drill from the hole now and then to remove dust and shavings and to clean the hole.

Drilling in metal
Use a high-speed steel drill intended for metal. Use coolant for best results. Metal drills can also be used for drilling in plastic. Drill first with a 3 mm diameter drill and then with a drill with the required diameter.

DRILLING IN WOOD
Use a center drill. Use a twist drill for deep holes, and use a pin drill for holes with a large diameter. Small screws can be driven in soft wood without pre-drilling.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING!
RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY Switch off the product and remove the battery before cleaning and/or maintenance.

The product is maintenance-free

Keep the product clean, dry, and free from oil and grease.
Make sure no liquid gets into the product.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the casing. Do not use petrol, solvent, or detergent that can damage the plastic parts.
Check the battery charge status at regular intervals if the product has not been used for some time. The optimum charge is 50 to 80%. Store the product in a cool and dry place.
