Preparation for Use

Unpacking and Set Up

  • Remove the soundbar from the carton and remove all packing material from the soundbar. Save the packing material, if possible, in case the soundbar ever needs to be serviced or transported.
  • The original carton and packing material is the only safe way to pack your soundbar to protect it from damage in transit.
  • Remove any descriptive labels or stickers on the front or top of the cabinet. Do not remove any labels or stickers from the back or bottom of the cabinet.
  • Place your soundbar on a level surface such as a table, desk or shelf, convenient to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat, dirt, dust, moisture, humidity, or

Protect Your Furniture

This model is equipped with non-skid rubber ‘feet’ to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These ‘feet’ are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types of oil based furniture polishes, wood preservatives, or cleaning sprays may cause the rubber ‘feet’ to soften, and leave marks or a rubber residue on the furniture. To prevent any damage to your furniture we strongly recommend that you purchase small self-adhesive felt pads, available at hardware stores and home improvement center everywhere, and apply these pads to the bottom of the rubber ‘feet’ before you place the unit.

Water Resistant IPX4

The soundbar provides the robust durability by IPX4 so that it can be used in outdoor environment
(When installed and used as per the instructions in this User Manual).
The remote control of this product provides durability by IPX4.
Despite the IPX4 ratings, your soundbar and remote control is not impervious to water damage in any situation. To help prevent damage to your products, avoid the products being subjected to:

  • Water projected by a source greater than 6.3 mm against enclosure from any direction or submersion in water.
  • Water projected at greater than 30 kPs (4.4 psi) with a water volume greater than 12.5 litres /minute for more than 3 minutes and extreme weather conditions.

REMOTE CONTROL

  1. Press the power button to turn on and turn off the unit.

  2. PAIR: Press the “PAIR” button more than 2 seconds to connect or disconnect to the pairing device.

  3. Light Mode L1-L2-L3-…L10, default in Breath mode L2, long press 2S to enter into monochromatic mode L11, L12….L17.

  4. MODE: Short press “MODE” button to switch MODE, scrolling display: INDOOR/OUTDOOR, default in INDOOR mode.

Note:

  1. Press the RESET button for 5 seconds to restore the unit to factory settings, including: Volume is 10, treble and bass 0, the first time is default by Bluetooth MODE, EQ is default by music, MODE is default by indoor, and RGB light is default by mode 2 “Breath Mode”.
  2. USB with audio MP3 palyback function.
  3. The display and RGB light will be turned off with no operation for 15 seconds, but in GAME mode, only display is tuned off, RGB light is still on. The display and RGB light will wake up again with pressing any button on bar or remote control.
  4. The first time soundbar is turned on by default Bluetooth mode, the next time turned on, remember the current mode state set by the remote control or soundbar button.
  5. The default volume is 10, and the iPhone simultaneously dominates the volume synchronization

Positioning the Soundbar

Place on a flat Surface

Place the soundbar horizontally on a flat surface such as a TV unit or shelves and align it centrally with the TV screen. Allow some space between the speaker and the wall. Don’t place inside a cabinet or an a walled shelf. Follow this guidance for best sound output and good airflow around the soundbar

Mount on the wall
WARNING: If you don’t feel confident to correctly and securely wall-mount the soundbar, Seek the assistance of an experienced person of professional.
Install the speaker on a vertical, fast, reinforced area of wall. For plaster walls, it is recommended to screw into wall studs for greater security. For optimum performance, allow at least 25mm/1’’distance between the soundbar and the TV.

Follow below steps to mount the soundbar on the wall

  1. Make 2 holes on the wall with distance same as the wall bracket on the soundbar.
  2. Put the plastic anchors onto the wall and secure the screws to the plastic clip, do not tighten the screws all the way make sure leave some space.
  3. Attached the 2 EVA pads onto the wall mount backet. This will make sure that there is enough room between the wall and the soundbar outlet, minimum 15mm.
  4. Once the screws securely fastened, hang the soundbar over by inserting the screws onto the wall mount bracket.

OPERATE INSTRUCTIONS

Setting the soundbar

  1. Plug in the power adapter and the display will light up (Standby mode)
  2. Switch on the soundbar by pressing the “POWER” button on the soundbar or on remote controller. After switching on, the default input mode will appear on display.
  3. Input modes can be changed by pressing the “INPUT” button on the soundbar or on remote controller.
  4. Below are input mode names appearing in the soundbar display: bE -Bluetooth Pairing mode, FUX-AUX mode, OPT -Optical mode, FIRE- HDMI ARC mode, EFRE – HDMI eARC mode, U5b-USB mode,
  • The port of HDMI IN(eARC) supports Video & Audio
    Audio: maximum supported audio content is Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus,
    Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Surround.

  • HDMI: HDMI version 2.1
    The screen will be turned off for around 15 seconds without any operation, when pressing the power buttons on the soundbar or on remote control or the phone’s volume increases or decreases, the display will be waken up again.

Powering On/Off

  • Plug the power adapter of soundbar into a wall outlet, it will automatically enter standby mode.
  • Short-press the “POWER” button on the soundbar or on remote controller to turn on the soundbar
  • To turn off, press and hold the “POWER” button for 2 seconds, then unplug from wall outlet.

Note:

Long press 2S “LIGHT” mode on the remote control, quickly enter monochrome mode and select L11, L12…. L17.

Playing Audio via BT Connection

  1. Turn on the soundbar and then short-press the “INPUT” button on soundbar or remote controller to switch it to BT mode and LED display on the soundbar will flicker in the Bluetooth pairing mode.

  2. Activate the pairing function on your phone or other compatible device and select
    “MONSTER SBA36G” by BT connection.

  3. When successfully paired, you will hear a tone and LED display will turn on “ ”and stop flickering. Then music that you selected can be played on the soundbar.

  4. The remote controller includes BT mode playback controls.

Notes:

  • If your pairing device switched off or manual disconnected, the soundbar will automatically enter pairing mode.
  • If the connected device is switched off or manually disconnected, the soundbar will automatically enter pairing mode. Successfully connected device will be re-established once you re-enter wireless connection range.
    To connect to other devices, repeat the above pairing steps.

Audio input(Aux)Connection

  1. Firstly connect the soundbar to your PC, laptop, smartphone, TV, or other audio devices by using an AUX cable provided. Make sure that these devices have both AUX IN and AUX OUT terminals.
  2. Then press the INPUT button on remote control or soundbar to switch the soundbar to Aux mode, once the soundbar is connected in Aux mode, the screen will display ” RUX”. And the music on your connected device will play. Playback can only be controlled on your connected device.
    Note : For some computers, you may need to access the audio control panel to manually set the soundbar as shown steps on above.

Optical Mode

  • Remove the cap of the optical cable (keep the cap for future use); check the direction of the plug. Connect the soundbar and TV with the optical cable.
  • Use this mode to play music from a TV with optical digital output on the soundbar. In TV sound settings, select the soundbar optical connection (output for audio). When the optical cable is connected, the TV audio output is set to Dolby or Auto mode.

The TV must have an optical digital output. Use the optical cable to make the connection as follows:

  1. Connect the optical cable to the optical digital output of your TV.
  2. Connect the optical cable to the optical digital input of your soundbar.
  3. Switch on the TV set and the soundbar. Set the connected TV to “Dolby or Auto mode”.
  4. Start playing on the TV.
  5. Press “INPUT” button on the remote control or on the soundbar to select
  6. Use the volume buttons to adjust the volume to your requirements.
  7. You can also change the audio settings by using the relevant buttons on the remote control.

NOTE

  1. When connecting a device such as a TV/Set-top box/ DVD/ game console with optical cable, set the audio output mode of the device to Dolby or Auto mode (digital optical output).
  2. Do not bend the optical cable, otherwise the cable inside will be damaged.

Playing Audio via USB Port
The soundbar automatically switches to USB input mode with the LED display USb when a USB flash drive is inserted (this mode isn’t selectable on the soundbar or remote control unless a USB flash drive is connected).

  1. Ensure that your USB flash drive contains MP3 audio files (other file types not supported)
  2. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port on the soundbar (or your own USB extension cable connected to the USB port); music will automatically play
  3. The remote control includes USB input mode playback controls

HDMI eARC Mode

Connect to HDMI IN eARC Socket
Some 4K HDR TVs require the HDMI input or picture settings to be set for HDR content reception. For further setup details on HDR display, please refer to the instruction manual of your TV.

Option 1: e-ARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel)
Your Soundbar supports HDMI with enhanced Audio Return Channel(e-ARC). If your TV is HDMI e-ARC compliant, you can hear the TV audio through your soundbar by using a single HDMI cable.

  1. Use a High Speed HDMI cable, connect HDMI IN eARC on the soundbar to HDMI (e-ARC) connector on your TV.
  2. Then short-press button on the soundbar or INPUT button on the remote controller to switch to HDMI IN eARC mode. After successfully connected, the LED display will show LED display will show ARC)
  3. Press the VOL +/– buttons to adjust the volume to your desired level.

Note:

  • Your TV must support the HDMI-CEC and e-ARC function. HDMI-CEC and e-ARC must be set to be on.
  • The setting method of HDMI-CEC and e-ARC may differ depending on the TV. For details about e-ARC function, please refer to your TV owner’s manual.
  • Only HDMI 1.4 compatible cables can support the e-ARC function.
  • The enhance Audio Return Channel function enables an HDMI-compatible TV to send the audio stream to HDMI OUT of the unit.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM/TROUBLE POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION









There is no sound output from soundbar.

Since the output format of our soundbar is PCM, if it is used, the decoding format of TV or other devices will be adjusted to PCM state.

DOLBY ATMOS is only available in HDMI (e-ARC) mode. For the details of the connection, please refer to “HDMI Connection”.

  1. To use Dolby Atmos® in HDMI (e-ARC) mode, your TV has to support Dolby Atmos®.
  2. Make sure that “No Encoding” is selected for bitstream in the digital audio output of the connected external device (e.g. Blu-ray DVD player, TV etc.).
  3. While entering Dolby Atmos / Dolby Digital Plus format, the soundbar will show DOLBY ATMOS / DOLBY SURROUND.

Note:

  • The full Dolby Atmos experience is only available when the Soundbar is connected to the source via a HDMI 2.0 cable.
  • The Soundbar will still function when connected via other methods (such as a Digital Optical cable) but these are unable to support all of the Dolby features. Given this, our recommendation is to connect via HDMI, in order to ensure full Dolby support.

  • ALL DISPUTES ARISING IN ANY WAY FROM THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR THE SALE, CONDI-TION OR PERFORMANCE OF THE PRODUCT SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION, AND NOT BY A COURT OR JURY.

  • Any such dispute shall not be combined or consolidated with a dispute involving any other person’s or entity’s Product or claim, and specifically, without limitation of the foregoing, shall not under any circumstances proceed as part of a class action.
    The arbitration shall be conducted before a single arbitrator, whose award may not exceed, in form or amount, the relief allowed by the applicable law. The arbitration shall be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) pursuant to its

  • Consumer Arbitration Rules (AAA Rules). The Federal Arbitration Act governs this provision. The arbitrator shall decide all issues of interpretation and application of this arbitration provision and the Limited Warranty.

  • For any arbitration in which your total damage claims, exclusive of attorney fees and expert witness fees, are $5,000.00 or less (“Small Claim”), the arbitrator may, if you prevail, award your reasonable attorney fees, expert witness fees and costs as part of any award, but may not grant its attorney fees, expert witness fees or costs unless it is determined that the claim was brought in bad faith. In a Small Claim case, you shall be required to pay no more than half of the total administrative, facility and arbitrator fees, or $50.00 of such fees, whichever is less, and Russell Distribution Company, LLC shall pay the remainder of such fees. Administrative, facility and arbitrator fees for arbitrations in which your total damage claims, exclusive of attorney fees and expert witness fees, exceed $5,000.00 (“Large Claim”) shall be determined according to AAA Rules. In a Large Claim case, the arbitrator may grant to the prevailing party, or apportion among the parties, reasonable attorney fees, expert witness fees and costs. Judgment may be entered on the arbitrator’s award in any court of competent jurisdiction.

  • This arbitration provision also applies to claims by you, the purchaser of the Product, and all those in privity with you, including your family members, beneficiaries and assigns, against Russell Distribution Company, LLC’s parent(s), subsidiaries and affiliates, any person or entity that licensed, supplied, sold or distributed the Product, and each of their officers, employees, represen-tatives,
    licensors/licensees, agents, beneficiaries, predecessors in interest, successors, and/or assigns.

  • You may opt out of this dispute resolution procedure by providing notice to Russell Distribution Company, LLC no later than 30 calendar days from the date of the first consumer purchaser’s purchase of the Product. To opt out, you must send notice by e-mail to Russell Distribution Company, LLC at support@mymonsteraudio.com, with the subject line: “Arbitration Opt Out.” You must include in the opt out e-mail (a) your name and address; (b) the date on which the Product was purchased; (c) the Product model name or model number; and (d) the IMEI or MEID or Serial Number if applicable, if you have it. Alternatively, you may opt out by calling 1-800-976-0677 no later than 30 calendar days from the date of the first consumer purchaser’s purchase of the Product and providing the same information. These are the only two forms of notice that will be effective to opt out of this dispute resolution procedure. Opting out of this dispute resolution procedure will not affect the coverage of the Limited Warranty in any way, and you will continue to enjoy the benefits of the Limited Warranty.

  • This Monster-branded product, marketed as new, in the original carton to the original purchaser (“Product”), is warranted by Russell Distribution Company, LLC against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a limited warranty period of Ninety (90) Days for Labor and One (1) year for Parts. This Limited Warranty is conditioned upon proper use o Product by you, the Purchaser.

  • This Limited Warranty does not apply to store display products and product sold as a “marked down” special, in “as is” condition, “close outs”, “liquidation and clearance sales”, “open box”, products missing accessories, or no fault found.
    Proof of purchase in the form of a Bill of Sale, Receipt or Receipted Invoice is evidence the Product is within the limited warranty period. The Bill of Sale, Receipt or Receipted Invoice must be presented as a pre-condition to obtaining the limited warranty service.

  • This limited warranty begins on the original date of purchase and is valid only on Products purchased through authorized dealers and used in the United States, and Puerto Rico, by the original Purchaser. To receive warranty service, the Purchaser must first contact us for problem determination and service procedures. The original dated bill of sale, receipt o receipted invoice must be presented upon request as proof of purchase.

  • We will repair your product or if repairs cannot be made, we will replace it at no charge with the same or similar product. the Product is defective as specified in this limited warranty during the limited warranty period, we may use new or remanufactured parts to repair the Product. All replaced parts and products become our property and must be returned to us. Replacement parts and products assume the remaining original limited warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.

  • Product freight must be prepaid by you, the original Purchaser and shipped in either its original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection. We will not be responsible for or obligated to replace damaged Products.

  • If the Product is received damaged, it is your responsibility as the consumer to file a claim against the carrier. We will only store the damaged Product for 30 days and reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to dispose of the damaged Product o ship it back to you at your expense after 30 days.

  • This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship encountered in normal, and except to the extent otherwise expressly provided for in this statement, noncommercial use of this Product, and shall not apply to thfollowing, including, but not limited to: Damage which occurs in shipment; delivery and installation; applications and uses for which this Product was not intended; altered Product or serial numbers; cosmetic damage or exterior finish; accidents abuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning or other acts of nature; use of products, equipment, systems, utilities, services, hardware, supplies, accessories, applications, installations, repairs, external wiring or connectors not supplied or authorized by us or the manufacturer, which damage this Product or result in service problems; incorrect electrical line voltage, fluctuations and surges; customer adjustments and failure to follow operating instructions, cleaning, maintenance and environmental instructions that are covered and prescribed in the instruction book; reception problems and distortion related to noise, echo, interference or other signal transmission and delivery problems; burned-in images. Uninterrupted o error-free operation of the Product is not warranted.
