INSTALLATION
STEP 1
To calculate the shelf width [not provided] needed for your cabinet, please
follow the guidelines below:
- Framed Cabinets: Measure the total distance between the installed support panels.
- Framedless Cabinets: Measure the total distance between the interior cabinet walls.
Take your width measurement (W) and subtract 4” (102mm) to determine your shelf width.
Layout and cut your shelf to the determined size. Ensure the length does not exceed 20” (508mm) and the minimum material thickness is equal to ¾” (19mm) or greater.
STEP 2
Place Left and Right Mounting Brackets (A, B) on your shelf and use a tape
measure to determine the correct placement, according to the image shown
below.
Use a pencil to mark the hole locations and remove Brackets. Drill ⅛” (3mm) pilot holes drilling ½” (12mm) deep into the shelf. Keep note on which side is the front and set the shelf aside for later.
STEP 3
Position Mounting Template (C) based on the measurements provided in the
diagram below. All measurements are based off of the center of the slot
closest to the front of the cabinet. The hole should be marked 2” (51mm) from
the front of the cabinet and 4 ½” (115mm) from the bottom of the face frame
(if applicable).
Use a level to ensure the template is properly aligned then the front slot and back central hole.
Positioning Notes:
-
Frameless Cabinets:
If mounting to a frameless cabinet, ignore the face-framing callouts in the diagram below. On frameless cabinets, measurements should still be taken from the front of the cabinet and below the countertop -
ALL Cabinet Types:
The 4 ½” (115mm) height allows for adequate clearance for 16 ½” tall stand mixers. The mounts can be positioned higher if the lift is being used with smaller appliances.
Use a pencil to mark the locations of the Front & Back Slots and the Front & Back Holes of the template.
Remove the Template and repeat the step on the other side of the cabinet.
STEP 4
- Pre-drill marked holes using a ⅛” (3mm) drill bit, drilling ½” (12mm deep).
- Partially insert ST4.8x16mm Screws (S-A) into the back and front pre-drilled holes that align with the keyhole slots on the Mounting Brackets.
Repeat for the other side
STEP 5
Attach Right Mounting Bracket (A) by sliding the Side Mount Bracket over and
down on the partially installed screws. Tighten with a power drill or Phillips
screwdriver.
Repeat the step for the Left Mounting Bracket (B)
Install ST4.8x16mm Screws (S-A) into the front and rear slots on Right Mounting Bracket (A) using a Phillips screwdriver or drill
STEP 6
- Adjust the Left and Right Mounting Brackets (B, A) to the open position ensuring the locking mechanism is engaged. Attach your shelf to Left and Right Mounting Brackets (B, A) using ST4.8x16mm Screws (S-A) and a Phillips screwdriver.
- Ensure the side edges of the shelf are flush with the shelf mounting brackets before fully tightening the screws.
STEP 7
- Pull the shelf down to the open position inside the cabinet. Place a level on the shelf and, with one hand on the shelf, loosen the screws in the front slots of the Mounting Brackets (A, B) using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Adjust the shelf angle so that the front of the shelf is slightly angled up, then tighten the screws. Add your desired appliance to the shelf to ensure it remains level with weight. Adjust more as needed.
- Once in the desired location, pre-drill the remaining holes in Mounting Brackets (A, B) using a ⅛” (3mm) drill bit drilling ½” (12mm) deep holes. Adjust the swinging brackets as needed to gain access to the remaining holes.
- Install ST4.8x16mm Screws (S-A) into the remaining mounting locations using a Phillips screwdriver.
Adjusting Bracket Tension
There are 3 adjustable spring tension settings on the brackets:
- T1). 0-11lbs (0-5kg)
- T2). 11-22lbs (5-10kg)
- T3). 22-33lbs (10-15kg)
The product is shipped with the spring setting set to the highest adjustment being 22-33lbs (10-15kg). Tension may be adjusted, but we recommend leaving the tension as is for most appliances for the best user experience.
Tension Adjustment:
- To adjust the spring tension, hold the spring-loaded plate in place using a box end wrench.
- Loosen the front pre-installed screw using a 5mm Allen Wrench making sure to keep strong tension on the spring-loaded plate.
- Adjust the screw position to 1 or 2 following your target appliance weight and reinstall the screw using the 5mm Allen Wrench.
