We would like to congratulate you on the purchase of our solar pond pump kit. We appreciate your trust. That‘s why funtional security and operational safety stands by us on first place.

To prevent damage to persons or property, you should read this user manual carefully. Please observe all safety precautions and instructions for proper use of the pump. Failure to follow the instructions and safety precautions can result in injury or property damage. Please keep this manual with the instructions and safety instructions carefully in order to at any time you can restore them. IN GENERAL

The Solar pond pump kits are high-quality fountain pump systems for energy use in outdoor or indoor use. The perfect eye-catcher in your garden or seed tray. Through the use of high-quality solar technology is the Solar Pond Pump Kits mains-independent and any-where to use immediately.

1. It‘s recommended NOT to conduct yourself technical modifications. First, it is not certain whether these changes are technically correct and, secondly, because no guarantee can be granted.
2. Transport damages are immediately to be reported to the package distributor and to us in written form. Failure to give timely notice to the shipping company, and are therefore rejected your claims from the transport company, so we can not accept these claims as well. In your legal obligation to cooperate to minimize damage, we point out expressly herewith.

OPERATION

• Unpack all components carefully

• Mount the solar panel (see illustration). Remove the protective film from the solar panel (if any). Overview of components and assembly
  Solar Pump Kit

• The solar pump is designed for outdoor use, the pump is powered by a solar panel. In order to make the pump work, the solar panel needs to be placed in direct sunlight – ideally facing 45 degrees to the sun.

• The performance of the pump depends on the sunlit intensity and the position of the solar panel.

• The latest DC brushless motor technology is introduced in the pump design and manufacturing so that the pump has high efficiency and long service life.
  Filter Box

• Ideal for filtering water to keep your pond clean and healthy.

• Designed to work with a fountain pump so that you can enjoy the fun of a wonderful fountain while enhancing the water quality of your pond.

• Structured to hold the fountain pump inside to protect your fountain pump from being damaged by pond waste.

• Built-in UV light attacks germs and microscopic algae reducing occurrence of green water. The UV lamp is not intended for effect lighting!

Position the solar panel so that it receives direct sunlight. The fountain can not work if the solar panel is shaded. Adjust the solar panel angle to maximise the amount of solar energy collected.
Connect the pump, panel and the LED-Light on the battery (see illustration). Check whether the flow is fully open (or else promoted little or no water).

FROST
Frost can cause damage to the pump. The pump must be removed and stored in a frost proof environment if the water is likely to freeze.

ASSEMBLING

• Unpack all components carefully
• Unroll the pump and UV light cable.
• Connect the solar panel by plug-in the connect cable.
• Connect the pump and UV light to the control hosing.
• Place the filter box underwater and make sure that, it is fully immersed in water.
• Place the control box on the base.
• The solar pump is now ready to operate.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Once installed, allow the control box to charge at least eight hours in direct sunlight or 8 hours by adapter in order to fully charge the Battery.

1. Press the “on/off” button, turn on/off the system. The “L4” indicator light is on.
   „L4“ light will show battery four different status as below:

   • Green blink, means the battery is full, pump can operate around 4 hours max.
   • Yellow blink, means the battery is half, pump can operate around 1.5-3 hours max.
   • Red blink. means the battery is almost running out, pump can operate around 0.5-1.5 hours max.
   • Red blink, means the battery is dying, pump doesn’t operate, need to charge it at once.

2. Press the “UV&Pump” button, the “L1” Green indicator light is blinking, pump and UV light will operate in 2/3/4 hours by pressing 1/2/3 times of this button, then the pump and UV light will shut down, “L1” Green indicator light turn to solid, the system will store this time in its memory and will turn on every day at set time.

3. Press the “UV” button, the “L2” Green indicator light is blinking, UV light will operate in 2/3/4 hours by pressing 1/2/3 times of this button, then UV light will shut down, “L2” Green indicator light turn to solid, the system will store this time in its memory and will turn on every day at set time.

4. Press the “Pump” button, the “L3” Green indicator light is blinking, pump will operate in 2/3/4 hours by pressing 1/2/3 times of this button, then the pump will shut down, “L3” Green indicator light turn to solid, the system the system will store this time in its memory and will turn on every day at set time..
   Charging: Once connected the solar panel with the control housing, and placed the solar panel in direct sunlight, the system is ready for charging. Customer can also use the adaptor to charge the housing IN DOOR.

CAUTIONS

• Any altering of the product itself or changing of the components is forbidden.
• Do not connect the pump to any AC voltage power, it’s ONLY for DC Voltage power.
• Operate in freshwater only (never above 45°C), especially keep away from flammable liquids.
• Do not strike the solar panel.
• Do not let the pump run dry for long time.
• Caution! UV rays are dangerous and can cause damage to unprotected eyes and skin. Therefore, DO NOT work with the UV lamp switched on!

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• If after some time the pump starts losing power or stops working, please clean up sediment in the pump shell. Please note the pump can be opened by pressing down on the bottom of the filter housing.
• To clear the impeller, open the pump housing by unscrew the front plastic cover.

The solar module should only be cleaned with soft tissue or propriety glass cleaning solution.

PERFORMANCE OF THE PUMP

The performance of the pump depends on the orientation of the solar panels towards the sun and their intensity. The max. Performance is achieved under optimum conditions. A function in the shade or under cloudy skies can not be guaranteed. The solar pond kits are designed primarily for use in the summer months. However, the solar panel power should be enough even on days in spring and autumn with excellent sunlight to operate. However, this can not be guaranteed. For models with battery operation the function of the solar pond sets the charge state of the battery depends.
Depending on the pump version allows you to customize the delivery. If a controller is available at the pump, as in the horizontal position is the max. achieved delivery. In a vertical position only little or no water is pumped.
If the solar power set also a remote control, the delivery rate can be controlled with it.

BATTERY INFORMATION

After 12 to 18 months, you should replace the battery. For this purpose unscrew the battery cover and replace the battery with a new (replacement batteries available on request). Please note the limited implied warranty of 6 months.

Important! It must be ensured that the battery cover is properly tightened and watertight.

• With repeated charge and discharge cycles Lead-Acid and NiMh battery packs are less efficient (memory effect).
• This effect is much less pronounced, but still present in small mass in the Li-ion batteries used.
• Through very short and frequent loading operations and many other operational influences batte-ries can age prematurely strong. The batteries are therefore subject to a consumable and wearing part of a shortened warranty of 6 months.
• If you find that the battery will be less efficient, the battery needs to be fully charged. These allow the unit for 2 to 3 days (pump should not be connected) standing in the sun in order to allow a maximum charge the battery or use a suitable external charger. We recommend to occasionally repeat this procedure to extend the battery life.
• If after this recharging the battery still does not meet expectations, you should replace the batteries.
  NOTE: The battery is supplied charged. If the state of charge, contrary to expectations, not be sufficient to charge the batteries for at least 8 hours to allow sufficient charging of the battery (so damage the battery to avoid overcharging, the pump must be connected).

WARNINGS ON BATTERY

Lithium Ion cells and battery may get hot, explode or ignite and cause serious injury if they are exposed to abusive conditions, Be sure to follow the safety warnings listed below:

• Do not install the battery backwards, so the polarity is reversed
• Do not connect the positive or/and negative terminal or/and the battery to each other with any meta-object, such as wire
• Do not disassemble or modify the battery. The battery contains safety and protection devices that may cause the battery to generate heat, explode or ignite if damaged
• Do not place the battery in or near fire, on stoves or other high-temperature locations. Do not place the battery iiin direct sunlight or use/store the battery inside cars during hot weather. Doing so may cause the battery to generate heat, explode or ignite
• It is not advised for children to handle the battery
• When the battery is worn out, wrap the terminals with adhesive tape or similar materials be-fore disposal
• Immediately discontinue use of the battery, if there is an unusuak smell, a change of color or shape, or if it appears abnormal in any other way
• Do not place the battery in microwave ovens, high pressure containers or on cookware facili-ties
• In the event of the battery is leaking and fluid gets into your eye, do not rub the eye, rinse well with water and immediately seek medical advice. If left untreated, the battery fluid could cause serious injury to the eye

SERVICING

If after some time the pump starts losing power or stops working, please clean up sediment in the pump shell or filter cribs. Please note the pump can be opened by pressing down on the bot-tom of the filter housing.
To clear the impeller, open the pump housing at the front by sliding up the front plastic cover.

The solar module should only be cleaned with soft tissue or propriety glass cleaning solution.

The following controls should be carried out regularly:

• Cleanness of the medium (no mud).
• Moreover, the pump should be emptied by danger of frost, has to be washed out with clear water and stored dry.

SECURITY TIPS

• Obey absolutely valid regulations on the electrical security
• Never run pump dry
• Pumping inflammable, as well as all other aggressive liquids is prohibited
• Pay attention to the medium temperature max. 35°C
• Never pull the pump on the electrical cable or pressure hose
• Avoid cross section narrowing
• Pay attention to the given particle size
• During longer unused times, clean the pump, wash it out with clear water, dry and store it at room temperature
• Test wells for enough flowing water (dry run danger)
• The pump may be used by children aged 8 years and above as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or those who lack skills, experience and knowledge only if they are supervised. These aforementioned persons should only use the appliance while adhering to safe instructions and resulting dangers.
• Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
• Caution! UV light is dangerous and can cause damage to eyes and skin. ONLY open the filter box when the UV lamp is switched off.

• To take over no responsibility in the case of accidents or damages on the basis of careless-ness or disregard to the instructions in this manual.
• To reject every responsibility for the damages which originate from the improper use of the device.

GUARANTEE REGULATIONS / STATUTORY WARRANTY

For all manufacturing and material defects, the statutory warranty applies. In these cases we take the replacement or repair of the device. Shipping costs shall be borne by our company, except as required by law. Please report the warranty on our service platform http://www.profi-pumpe.de/service.php. We will inform you how to proceed with case-related. Returns please sufficient postage. Unfortunately not prepaid returns can not be accepted because they are filtered out before delivery. Our service we provide in Germany.

The warranty does not cover:

• Material wear (sealing rings, impeller wheels, impeller chambers)
• Unjustified interventions or changes in the pump
• Damages by selffault
• Improper servicing and improper use
• DRY RUNNING (Also partially!) of the pump
  Moreover, we give no damage compensation for secondary damages!

NOTES ON PRODUCT LIABILITY

We would like to point out that, in accordance with the Product Liability Act, we are only liable for damage caused by our appliances insofar as no modifications have been made to the appliances. If repairs are carried out by a service workshop authorised by us, we are only liable insofar as original spare parts and accessories were used.

NOTES ON DISPOSAL

Electro devices of our company, labeled with the symbol of the crossed trash bin, are not permitted to be disposed in your household garbage. We are registered at the German registration department EAR under the WEEE-No. DE79535656. This symbol means, that you’re not allowed to treat this product as a regular household waste item – it has to be disposed at a recycling collection point of electrical de-vices. This is the best way to save and protect our earth.
