Getting started

  • Remove the screw on the back of the device and remove the battery compartment cover.
  • Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity.
  • Close the cover and tighten the screw.
  • Press the Power button (6) to turn the device on or off.

Display information

Usage

  • Remove the sensor cover (1) and place the meter perpendicular to the light source. The illumination value will be displayed on the digital screen (9).
  • Press the H button (8) to activate data hold mode (Н icon on the screen). The device will display the last recorded values. Press again to return to measurements.
  • Press the RAN/▲ button (7) to activate the manual range selection mode (MANU icon on the screen). When the power is turned on, automatic measurement range selection is active (AUTO icon on the screen). Use the RAN/▲ button (7) to move to the next range. Hold the RAN/▲ button (7) for more than 2 seconds to return to automatic range selection mode.
  • Press the UNIT/▼ button (5) to select the illumination unit (lx or foot candle).
  • Press the REC button (3) to enter extreme illumination values display mode. The MAX icon will appear up on the display and the display will show the maximum illumination values for the current measurement session. Press the REC button (3) again to display the minimum illumination values (MIN icon on the screen). Hold the REC button (3) for more than 2 seconds to return to measurements.
  • Press the REL button (4) to turn relative illumination measurement on or off (REL icon on screen).
  • Press and hold the UNIT/▼ button (5) for more than 2 seconds to enter the light source type selection mode. The L.S. icon will appear on the display and the number will flash in the digital field (6). Use the RAN/▲ (7) or UNIT/▼ (5) buttons to select the desired value from L0 to L9. Press the H button (8) to confirm and return to measurements.
  • When measurements are complete, close the sensor cover (1) to protect the filter and sensor.
  • The device turns off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity. The function is active by default (the icon is displayed on the screen). To cancel, hold down the H button (8) while turning on the power. To restore the function, turn the device off and on again.

Changing the light coefficient value (calibration)

  • Press and hold the UNIT/▼ button (5) for more than 2 seconds to enter the light source type selection mode. The L.S. icon will appear on the display and the number will flash in the digital field (6).
  • Use the RAN/▲ (7) or UNIT/▼ (5) buttons to select the desired value from L0 to L9.
  • Press the REL (4) button to move to the light coefficient setting mode. The main digital field (9) will start flashing.
  • Using the RAN/▲ (7) or UNIT/▼ (5) buttons, set the required light coefficient value. To quickly change values, hold the buttons.
  • Press the H button (8) to confirm and return to measurements.

Light coefficient values (default):

  • L0 – standard light source: 1.000
  • L1 – white LED: 0.990
  • L2 – red LED: 0.516
  • L3 – yellow LED: 0.815
  • L4 – green LED: 1.216
  • L5 – blue LED: 1.475
  • L6 – purple LED: 1.148
  • L7–L9 – manual values: 1.000 (default)

Care and maintenance

  • Do not use the device if it is damaged or does not operate properly. Replace the battery as soon as the low battery indicator lights up.
  • Do not use solvent to clean the device. Store the device in the place with the appropriate temperature (see “Specifications”).
  • Protect the device from sudden impact and excessive mechanical force. Never attempt to operate a damaged device or a device with damaged electrical parts!
  • Only use accessories and spare parts for this device that comply with the technical specifications. If a part of the device or battery is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Battery safety instructions

  • Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use.
  • Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time; taking care not to mix old and new ones or batteries of different types.
  • Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device before battery installation. Make sure the batteries are installed correctly about polarity (+ and –).
  • Remove batteries from equipment that is not to be used for an extended period.
  • Remove used batteries promptly. Never short-circuit batteries as this may lead to high temperatures, leakage, or explosion.
  • Never heat batteries to revive them. Do not disassemble batteries. Remember to switch off devices after use.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children, to avoid the risk of ingestion, suffocation, or poisoning. Utilize used batteries as prescribed by your country’s laws.

  • Ermenrich products, except for their accessories, carry a 5-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
  • All Ermenrich accessories are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for six months from the purchase date.
