Product Usage Instructions

Getting Started:

  1. Insert a memory card into the microSD slot.
  2. To remove the memory card, push it in slightly and it will pop out. Then, remove the card.

Button Panel and Device Settings:

The device features the following buttons:

  • Power Button: Functions include turning the\ device on and off, confirming selections, and playing/pausing\ videos in playback mode. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to toggle the device on or off.
  • Focusing Wheel: Use this wheel to adjust the focus on the viewed object.
  • Diopter Adjustment Ring: Rotate this ring to enhance the clarity of words and icons on the display.

Getting started

Install batteries

Open the battery compartment cover and insert the rechargeable battery according to the correct polarity marks. Close the cover.

Rechargeable battery charging

Insert it into the battery charger according to the correct polarity symbols. Connect the battery charger to the AC power supply, using the power cable and power adapter. Prior to using the rechargeable battery for the first time, charge it for at least 4 hours.

Installing/removing the memory card

  • The device supports memory cards class 10 up to 64GB.
  • Insert the microSD card into the slot. Make sure the direction is right. Do not force the card in.
  • Format the microSD card before starting, as it will improve its compatibility with the device.
  • To remove the card from the slot, press the edge of the memory card in gently, and the card will pop out. Then, remove the card.
  • If the memory card is not installed, a No Card icon will be displayed.

Button panel and device settings

Power button

Button functions: 1) turns the device on and off; 2) confirms the selection; 3) plays/pauses the video in the playback mode. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off. Turn the focusing wheel to adjust the focus on the viewed object. Turn the diopter adjustment ring to make the words and icons on the display clearer

Up button

Button functions:

  1. enters, exits and scrolls the Menu;
  2. adjusts the zoom;
  3. plays the video forward in the playback mode. Press and hold the Up button for 3 seconds to enter or exit the Menu. Press the Up button to adjust the zoom value (1x, 2x, 3x, 4x).

Down button

Button functions: 1) enters and exits the IR-light mode; 2) adjusts the IR- illumination level; 3) selects the color mode; 4) rewinds the video in the playback mode.
If the present light is insufficient or it is to be used in the evening, press and hold the Down button for 3 seconds to turn the IR-light on. The image will change from color to black and white. Press the Right button to select the brightness level. The brightness values will be displayed on the screen. Press the Down button to select a colour mode for image display (color, black-and- white, fluorescent green, phosphorous white). Alternatively, you can select the Color (Color mode) option in the Menu and then select the required color mode

Icon

Select hide or show the icons on the display

Color

Select the Color option; then select the color mode for image display: colour, black-and-white, fluorescent green, or phosphorous white.

Video loop

Select the Loop recording option; then select the video loop recording duration (1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes or OFF).
! If you select OFF for video loop recording option, the device will switch to the continuous recording mode and will overwrite previous files.

Playback

Select the Playback (Playback) option to view the photo and video files saved on the microSD card or on the external device.

  • Press the Power button to select a file.
  • Press and hold the Up button to select: Delete, Delete All, Video, Back (Delete, Delete All, Video, Back).
  • Press the Power button to play or pause the video.
  • Press the Up button to play forward.
  • Press the Down button to rewind the video.

WiFi (Remote Control by Mobile App/Wi-Fi Connection)

Before using the remote control of this device, download the Roadcam application (for iOS) from the Apple App Store or download the Wi-Fi Camera Device application (for Android) from Google Play and install it on your tablet or smartphone.

You can take pictures, record videos, and playback the files using the appropriate application.

  1. Start the app on your smartphone.
  2. Turn on the device.
  3. Enter the Menu; select the Wi-Fi option; select ON (turn on). Default password is 12345678.
  4. Proceed as required by the smartphone app.

Crosshairs

Select to show or hide the crosshair

IR Auto

  • Select to turn on or off the automatic IR-light option. If this option is ON, the IR-light brightness will be adjusted automatically.
  • IR illumination (infrared radiation) can be detected by photo and video cameras as well as other similar electronic devices during operation.

Picture in Picture

Select the Picture in Picture (Picture in Picture option) option to view the locally zoomed area is a small separate window in the center of the screen.

LCD brightness

Select the screen backlight intensity option: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or automatic brightness.

Resolution

Select the video resolution option: QHDP30 or QHDP40 (30fps, 30Hz or 40fps, 40Hz). Use the QHDP40 video resolution option if you move fast during recording.

  • The device will restart after the resolution option selection.
  • When the QHDP40 video resolution option is selected, the Wi-Fi option is unavailable.

Gyroscope

  • Select the Gyroscope option; then select Calibration. Place the device on a horizontal flat surface for 10 seconds. The calibration will be carried out automatically.
  • Re-calibration is required only if the device was exposed to a specific impact from the environment.

Copying files

You can transfer files from the device to your smartphone, tablet, or PC directly.

  • Insert the memory card into a card reader;
  • or connect the device to your computer with a Type-C USB cable.

Care and maintenance

Do not expose the device to direct sunlight — that could cause a fire! Do not scratch or touch the optical surfaces with your fingers. Remove the batteries before cleaning the device! Use only dry, lint-free cloths to wipe the outer parts of the device. Do not use cleaning fluid to avoid the electronics damage. To avoid scratching the lenses, only use a soft cloth and do not press too hard. Keep the device away from dust and water. Keep the device in a bag or a box. Remove the batteries from the device if it has not been used for a long time.

Battery safety instructions

Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use. Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time; taking care not to mix old and new ones, or batteries of different types. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation. Make sure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and –). Remove batteries from equipment that is not to be used for an extended period of time. Remove used batteries promptly. Never short-circuit batteries as this may lead to high temperatures, leakage, or explosion. Never heat batteries in order to revive them. Do not disassemble batteries. Remember to switch off devices after use. Keep batteries out of the reach of children, to avoid risk of ingestion, suffocation, or poisoning. Utilize used batteries as prescribed by your country’s laws.
