General information
Read and keep the instructions
These instructions are part of this sun sail
(hereinafter referred to as the ,,product”). It contains important information
on installation and handling.
Read the instructions carefully, especially the safety instructions, before
using the product. Failure to observe these instructions for use may result in
serious injury or damage to the product.
The instructions are based on the standards and regulations applicable in the
European Union. Please also observe country-specific guidelines and laws
outside the European Union.
Keep the instructions for future use. If you pass the product on to a third
party, be sure to include these instructions.
Intended use
The product is intended exclusively for protection against direct UV radiation
with the maximum sun protection factor 50+. It is intended exclusively for
private use and is not suitable for commercial use.
Only use the product as described in these instructions. Any other use is
considered improper and may result in damage to property or even personal
injury. The product is not a children’s toy.
The manufacturer or distributors accepts no liability for damage caused by
improper or incorrect use.
Safety and security
Explanation of notes
The following symbols and signal words are used in these instructions.
WARNING
This signal symbol/word indicates a hazard with a medium level of risk which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
This signal symbol/word indicates a hazard with a low level of risk which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE
This signal word warns of possible material damage.
General safety instructions
WARNING

Danger for children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities (e.g. partially disabled persons, elderly persons with reduced physical and mental capabilities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).

Do not allow children to play with the packaging film or the product.
Children can get caught in it while playing and suffocate. -
Keep children away from the product during assembly. Children must not play with the product.

Do not leave the product unattended when assembled!

- People and animals can become entangled in the lines and suffocate.
- Do not leave children and animals unattended during installation and use of the product

Fire hazard!
Improper handling of the product can lead to fire.
- Open fires, grills, patio heaters and others under or near the product are not permitted
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Incorrect assembly or use can lead to injuries.
- Ensure that all parts are undamaged and correctly installed.
- Take care when handling open pole ends during assembly and disassembly due to possible risk of injury.
- Take the product down in case of expected wind speeds of more than 40 km/h. The product may fall over or be caught by a gust and cause injury.
- Danger of tripping! Take care not to trip over the taut lines or anchor bags.
- The product can protect your skin from direct UV radiation with a sun protection factor of 50+, but not from reflective UV rays. You should therefore use additional sunscreen.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the product can lead to damage.
- Any water pockets must be emptied!
- Take the product down in case of expected wind speeds of more than 40 km/h (fresh wind, large branches and trees are moving and wind is clearly audible).
Initial commissioning
Check product and scope of delivery
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If you open the packaging carelessly with a sharp knife or other pointed objects, the product can quickly become damaged.
Be very careful when opening.
- Remove the product from the packaging
- Check that the delivery is complete (see chapter ,,Scope of delivery”).
- Check whether the product or the individual parts show signs of damage.
If this is the case, do not use the product. Contact our service hotline.
Installation
Select a suitable installation location. Assemble the product on sand and in the direction of wind.

Remove all parts from the storage/transport bag (1) and remove all packaging material.

Spread out the canvas (4) completely on the ground.

Completely unwind the lines (2) and attach the lines to the canvas at each of the four corners. To do this, pull the line through an opening in
-
the canvas and pull the anchor bag (2) through the resulting loop (see fig. 1).

Open the fastener on each of the four anchor bags and fill the anchor bags with plenty of damp sand to ensure the ballasting and stability of the product.

Assemble the two poles (6) To do this, pull the sections slightly apart and then insert them into each other (see Fig. 2).

Place the poles with the ball facing upwards under the canvas (see Fig. 3) and ensure that the lines on the anchor bags are taut. Press the tubes lightly into the sand for increased stability.

The position of the poles allows you to shape the canvas in different ways. Make sure that the lines are now taut and neither sagging nor overstretched (see Fig. 4).

Fasten the poles using the fastening loops (3) . To do this, slip a fastening loop over the ball and the canvas and pull the fastener tight (see Fig. 5).

When you are satisfied with the position of the product, secure each anchor bag with a ground anchor (5) . Insert the ground anchor through the loop on the anchor bag and then into the ground as far as it will go (see Fig. 6). Make sure once again that the lines are taut.
The lines on the anchor bags (2) can be shortened as required during use by pulling the lines through the anchor bags and fastening them with the fastener.
Dismantling
- Pull open the fastener on each of the fastening loops (3) and remove the fastening loops.
- Remove the two poles (6) from under the canvas (4) and fold them together. To do this, pull the individual sections apart slightly.
- Pull the four ground anchors (5) out of the ground and the loops on the anchor bags (2).
- Open the fastener on each of the four anchor bags and pour out the sand.
- Fold up the canvas and roll up the lines.
- Ensure that all parts are completely dry and clean and then stow all parts in the storage/transport bag (1).
Cleaning and storage
Cleaning
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the product can result in damage to the product.
- Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, brushes with metal or nylon bristles or sharp or metallic cleaning objects such as knives, hard spatulas and the like. These can damage the surfaces.
- The product is not washable.
Storage
- All parts must be completely dry before storage.
- Always store the product in a dry place and inside the storage/transport bag (1)
- Store the product out of the reach of children, safely locked away and at a storage temperature between 5 °c and 20 °c (room temperature).
