Safety instructions

General safety instructions

  • Read the safety instructions completely before putting the machine into service. Failure to conform to the safety instructions and directives can cause damage to persons and property.
  • If the instructions are not conformed to, Conmetall Meister GmbH shall not assume any liability. Keep the operating instructions in a safe place.
  • Ensure that the wax melter does not come into contact with flammable liquids, gases or powders whilst it is in operation. Electrical tools can create sparks and heat that can ignite powders or gases.
  • Check the device for externally visible damage before putting it into service. Do not put damaged devices into service.
  • Do not carry out any modifications to the device yourself.
  • This device may not be operated by people with physical, sensory or mental impairments.
  • Store the wax melter in a place that is out of the reach of children.
  • Only use the prescribed battery type.
  • Using other types of battery can lead to injuries and to the device igniting.
  • If you do not plan to use the device for a long period of time, remove the batteries to avoid them leaking and damaging the device.
  • Dispose of the batteries and device in accordance with the legal requirements.

Safety of persons

Do not use any electrical device if you are tired or if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Carelessness when using electrical tools can lead to serious injuries. Danger of burns! Ensure that the tip of the wax melter and the dripping wax does not come into contact with your skin.

Device-specific safety instructions
The tip of the wax melter will get hot. Danger of burns! Do not touch the tip of the wax melter and protect yourself from any dripping wax. The wax melter must always be switched off when it is not in use. Allow the tip of the wax melter to cool down thoroughly before storing it away. Ensure that the device is switched off before changing the battery.

Putting the device into operation

Inserting the batteries incorrectly can cause damage to the device!

Inserting the batteries

  • Open up the battery compartment.
  • Insert the correct type of battery. Ensure that the polarity matches the markings.
  • Close the battery compartment.

Switching the device on

  • Slide the switch towards the tip of the melter.
  • Hold the button down.

Maintenance and cleaning

  • Always keep the device clean in order to achieve the best results.
  • Ensure that moisture does not enter the device during cleaning and do not use any chemical cleaners that could damage the housing.

Switching the device off

  • Release the button.
  • Slide the switch towards the battery compartment.

Disposing of the device

  • Electrical devices and batteries should not be disposed of along with household waste.
  • They should both be recycled in an ecologically sound manner.

Using the device

  1. Preparation
    Use the spatula to clean the damaged section and remove all the loose pieces Remove any burrs from the damaged section.

  2. Selecting colours
    Select the appropriate colours from the colour palette You may need to combine several colours in order to get as close to the original colour as possible.

  3. Melting
    Melt small portions of wax

  4. Filling
    Gradually fill the damaged section with melted wax until it is slightly overfilled.

  5. Removal
    Allow the wax to cool off for 5-7 seconds After it has cooled off, carefully apply a small amount of pressure with the plane to remove the excess.

  6. Detailed work
    Use a darker wax tone to fine-tune the finish and to come as close to the grain of the tile as possible. Afterwards, use the plane to remove any excess.

  7. Finishing
    Use the white sanding sponge to remove any excess wax; this also serves to polish the surface of the damaged section so that it matches the rest of the surface.

  8. Cleaning
    Allow the tip of the melter to cool down. Remove any residual wax from the tip of the melter. Use the spatula to remove any residual wax from the grooves of the plane.
