FAQs

How to set up Litra Beam LX to optimize my look?
Litra Beam LX’s innovative design enables you to shape and direct light in unique ways to illuminate your story. You can easily create mood and tone using one of the four following cinematic lighting techniques.

Front Lighting
Front lighting means you are well-lit with no shadows along your face. This is the least dramatic lighting effect and creates a youthful appearance that is perfect for web calls.

  1. Attach your Litra Beam LX and arm using any of the ¼-20 mounting points.
  2. Position your Litra Beam LX horizontally at an arm’s length directly in front of your face.
  3. Litra Beam LX should be just above your head and angled slightly down.

Split Lighting
Split lighting means you are only lit from one side and the other side is dark. This creates a dramatic look as it splits the face in half and brings out details and textures.

  1. Attach your Litra Beam LX and arm using one of the ¼-20 mounting points in the middle of the light.
  2. Position your Litra Beam LX to vertically and move it about an arm’s length away from the side of the face you want to light.
  3.  Litra Beam LX should be centred on your face.

Butterfly Lighting
Butterfly lighting means you are lit with one light angled from above. This creates a glamorous look that accentuates your nose, lips, and cheekbones while casting a shadow under your nose and chin.

  1. Attach your Litra Beam LX and arm using the ¼-20 mounting point on the end of the light.
  2. Position your Litra Beam LX above your head, so it points down at an angle, and it is one to two feet above your face.
  3. Litra Beam LX should be tilted just enough so it is out of your webcam’s view.

Rembrandt Lighting
Rembrandt lighting is accomplished with two Litra Beams angled from above. This creates a moody or dramatic effect.

  1. Attach both of your Litra Beams and arms using the ¼-20 mounting point on the end of the lights.
  2. Position your Litra Beams at a 45-degree angle on each side of your face.
  3. Adjust the angle and distance until you get a triangle under each eye.

Litra Beam LX features in Logitech G HUB
Litra Beam LX has been designed to work seamlessly with Logitech G HUB. You can adjust the temperature, brightness, and RGB LED colours and select one of six presets or create your own preset.

To make sure you have achieved the perfect lighting, we include a live preview to see how you look.
NOTE: Litra Beam LX’s temperature and brightness will only change after you set and release the slider.

I cannot update the firmware for my Litra Beam LX even though it shows in G Hub
This will happen if you’ve connected the light via Bluetooth (Bluetooth connection is not supported for firmware updating). Please use a USB cable connection to update the firmware. When a firmware update is in process, the RGB light blinks quickly. The light returns to the original light state once complete.

Can the USB C cable be used with my Litra Beam LX instead of the power adapter?
The USB-C connection is for data transmission only. To power up the lights you need to connect the LED power adapter that comes with the product. The light requires 16W (7.5W Bi-color side, 8.5W RGB side) to work.

Can I discreetly control the light settings on my Litra Beam LX while I’m sharing my screen in a stream or video call?
Hub software gives you PC-based controls such as quick access to the light’s control panel so you can turn it on, and off, and adjust the brightness, and colour temperature.

How many levels of brightness and colour temperature are available on my Litra Beam LX?
There are ten steps (levels) for brightness and colour temperature adjustment:

Brightness

  • Step 1, Start (@13% brightness)
  • Step 2, @20% brightness
  • Step 3, @30% brightness (Initial default brightness)
  • Step 4, @40% brightness
  • Step 5, @50% brightness
  • Step 6, @60% brightness
  • Step 7, @70% brightness
  • Step 8, @80% brightness
  • Step 9, @90% brightness
  • Step 10, @100% brightness

Temperature

  • Step 1, Start 2700K
  • Step 2, 3000K
  • Step 3, 3400K
  • Step 4, 3700K
  • Step 5, 4000K
  • Step 6, 4400K
  • Step 7, 5000K
  • Step 8, 5400K
  • Step 9, 6000K
  • Step 10, Stop 6500K

How do I switch between the colours of the RGB light on my Litra Beam LX using the hardware buttons?
Slide the control switch to the RGB light and click on the temperature buttons (Cooler/Warmer) to switch between the fixed and animated colours.

The following presets and colours are available to switch using the hardware buttons:

Presets

  • Pulsar Point
  • Colour wave
  • Colour Cycle

Fixed Colors

  • White
  • Green
  • Orange
  • Red
  • Blue
  • Cyan

How do I know if the firmware update for my Litra Beam LX is in progress or complete
When a firmware update is in process, the RGB light blinks quickly. The light returns to the original light state once complete. Please use a USB cable connection to update the firmware (Bluetooth connection is not supported for firmware updating).

Can I turn just one side of the Litra Beam LX light on or off?
There are two ways to switch one side of the lights on or off:

  • Slide the control switch to the light of choice, and a single tap on the power button (The image shows the location of the slide control switch).
  • Use G HUB (shown below) to turn off or on, regardless of where the control switch is located at the time you power off.

White Light

RGB Ligh

What does the control switch do on my Litra Beam LX?
The control switch gives you independent control of each light.

  • When you slide the control switch to RGB, “+” or “-” adjusts the brightness of RGB.
  • When you slide the switch to point to WW light, “+” or “-” adjusts its brightness.

Do I need software to adjust the light settings on my Litra Beam LX?
The light settings can be adjusted manually without software. The hardware controls are placed on top of the light so it leaves all of the front and back faces of the object for light diffusion.

The hardware buttons are

  1. Bluetooth pairing button.
  2. A set of + and – buttons to control color temperature when in WW mode (Warm White / Cool White), and color choice when in Red Green Blue (RGB) mode.
  3. A set of + and – buttons to control light brightness.
  4. A control switch that slides towards the WW or RGB light to control it.
  5. Power button.

How to install the Litra Beam LX RGB light
Litra Beam LX includes a tabletop mount that lets you place the light where you want on your desk. The tabletop mount consists of one base and one arm. The arm is attached to the base with a ¼ 20 screw without the need for a specific tool. The light attaches to the arm with a ¼ 20 rotor. The arm can range from 37 cm to 63 cm, so the light can be placed horizontally above most of the monitors. For detailed steps on setting up your Litra Beam LX, see here.
