Logitech for Creators 988-000088 Yeti Nano USB Microphone
Introduction
Broadcast-quality audio for podcasts, YouTube videos, Twitch streaming, and Zoom calls is provided with the Yeti Nano premium USB microphone. Yeti Nano, a professional recording and streaming tool inspired by the classic Blue Yeti, blends 24-bit sound quality with potent Blue VO!CE* speech effects. The plug- and-play functionality of the Yeti Nano allows for quick streaming with your Mac or PC and a tiny design with a superior finish.
GETTING STARTED WITH YETI NANO
After unpacking your Yeti Nano, rotate the microphone 180 degrees so that the Blue logo and headphone volume control are facing you. Adjust the microphone to your desired angle, then tighten the set-screws on the left and right of the base. Connect Yeti Nano to your computer with the supplied USB cable—the headphone volume button will light up, indicating power has reached the mic.
Yeti Nano is a side-address microphone, which means you should speak, sing, and play into the front (not top) of the microphone while facing the Blue logo. Now you can start recording and streaming in stunning audio quality.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR YETI NANO
- DUAL CAPSULE ARRAY: Two condenser capsules enable great sound for recording and streaming.
- HEADPHONE VOLUME CONTROL: Easily adjust Yeti Nano’s headphone output by turning the volume knob.
- MUTE BUTTON: Press the headphone volume button to mute/unmute. The LED will be red when muted and green when active.
- HEADPHONE OUTPUT: Yeti Nano includes a standard 1/8” (3.5mm) headphone jack for monitoring and playback. Use Yeti Nano’s headphone output to monitor your microphone recording in real time, without latency delays.
- THREAD MOUNT: If you would like to mount your Yeti Nano to a standard microphone studio mount, remove Yeti Nano from the included desk stand, attach the included stand adapter, and thread in a standard threaded mount. For broadcast applications, we recommend Blue’s Compass desktop boom arm. To isolate Yeti Nano from noise, movement and ambient vibration, add the Radius III shockmount.
- USB CONNECTION: Yeti Nano connects to your computer with one simple USB cable.
- PATTERN SELECTION: Toggle between Yeti Nano’s two pattern settings (cardioid and omnidirectional) by pressing the pattern selector button on the back of the mic.
SWITCHABLE POLAR PATTERNS
CARDIOID
Perfect for podcasts, game streaming, vocal performances, voiceovers and instruments.
Cardioid mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone, delivering rich, full-bodied sound.
OMNIDIRECTIONAL
Picks up sound equally from all around the mic. It’s best used in situations when you want to capture the ambience of “being there”—like recording a band’s live performance, a multi-person podcast or a conference call.
FREQUENCY RESPONSE POLAR PATTERN
These charts are a starting point for the sound provided. How the microphone reacts in a particular application will differ depending on sound source, orientation and distance from sound source, room acoustics and other factors. FAQs
Debating between yeti nano and original yeti, which one is for long term use? I am new in this, not sure if will need to use it for advanced later.****
I used the original yeti but wanted something smaller and purchased the nano. Hated it for what I needed it for. The nano requires some basic software installation. I had an orange blinking light and had to find directions on YOUTUBE on how to deal with it, then still had compatibility issues with the voicetracking software I use. I never had any of these set up issues with the original yeti. You can plug it in and go.
Does it come with a USB cable?****
Yes but the cable tended to come unplugged from the mic base. Bought a replacement cable.
How far can be my mouth from this microphone, Yeti Nano, that my voice could still be picked up well? What is the best distance?****
It’s not really how far, it’s more what angle. You could be 2 meters away and still be picked up but be in a 70 degree angle and now be picked up at all. Though I would say that its range is pretty good.
can it be used on a Chromebook without setup?****
Yes. I believe it would…just tested it. I have an older Samsung Chromebook. Just plugged the Nano into the USB port and then went to the settings menu and selected the audio dropdown menu that is located near the volume/audio bar…the Yeti was listed there as the default input device. No setup. I do not have any programs that I could use to record with on my Chromebook so that is far as I took my little test.
Would you need two microphones with a multi-person podcast or would one suffice?****
One would easily do. Personally, I enjoy the cardioid mode a little more, so if you’re willing to splurge, go for two, but one would handle a podcast with ease, depending on positioning.
Can I use this with an iOS device – if so, what adapters would be needed?****
Yeti Nano requires a Mac or PC with USB connection. For use with an iOS device, please look into our Raspberry mic: https://www.amazon.com/Blue- Raspberry-Premium-Microphone-Lightning/dp/B01LVY346Q.
Sorry for the newbie question but beside this and a computer what would I need to podcast? would I need an interface? thank you.****
No. As soon as you plug the microphone into your USB port the blue yeti driver is installed. You must then go to settings and designate the new Yeti microphone as the default mic. There are instructional videos on the Blue Yeti site or on a google search.
Do headphones come with it? do I need that for singing? of course I want to sound clear and little background noise…do headphones help sound clear****
Headphones are not included but you can plug your headphones into the mic.
I have a blue snowball in a circular shockmount. can that mount be used with the yeti?****
The Yeti Nano supports the radius II and III mounts from Blue so it is likely that your existing mount works. It comes with a 5/8” thread adapter.
Will I be able to hear and talk to my participants in my live stream?****
While I’ve never used it live streaming a game, I have used it singing on a karaoke site. I can hear the music and my voice in headset, and the site picks it up as a recording or just audio playback for practice if not in recording mode. I would assume a streaming session with live chat would be just fine.
Do you have to use headphones when using the mic?****
Not necessarily. You can plug in headphones on the base of the mic to monitor your input. Or you can play back your recordings on the computer or laptops speakers.
How do I record myself talking? would windows built-in screen recorder work? what do you use?****
You could use windows built in voice recorder Or any voice recording software.
Can I plug this into my Macbook to use with zoom? does it need additional software?****
Works fine with a Macbook. Link to download Blue software is included with the mic.
About 1 week ago, I saw this mic for $99 (not on sale) and usually ships 2-4 weeks, and now its $160+. What happened?****
Consistent inventory of home office tech has been difficult due to the global pandemic. You could image that prices fluctuate based on supply and demand.
Does this work for Garage Band on mac?****
Yes, Blue Yeti Nano works with GarageBand on mac. Here’s the link to know the list of applications it works with: https://www.bluemic.com/products/yeti- nano/.
