Identification / recognition

Immobilisation / stabilisation / lifting

Completely immobilize the vehicle

  1. Chock the wheels and pull the switch to set the parking brake.
  2. For automatic vehicles the shift lever or shift button to the park (P) position.

■ To stabilize the vehicle, crib at four points directly under the front and rear pillars using wooden blocks or equivalent objects

Do not place cribbing such as wooden blocks or rescue air lifting bags under the exhaust system, fuel system or high voltage power cables. The failure will cause of the fire, electric hock or gas leak.

Disable direct hazards/safety regulations

■ Access to the 12V battery

  1. Pull the release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood should pop open slightly.
  2. Raise the hood slightly, push the secondary latch-up (①) inside of the hood center and lift the hood (②)
  3. Battery(⑧) in the engine room

Disabling procedure

  1. Turn the ignition switch off
  2. Disconnect the negative(-) terminal
  3. Disconnect the positive(+) terminal

•Location: in the trunk
•To disconnect 48V battery, follow steps:

  1. Wait about 10 minutes after you turn off the engine.
  2. Disconnect the (-) cable from the 12V battery in the hood.
  3. Disconnect the 12V (+) cable from the 48V battery pack.
  4. Disconnect the 48V (-) cable and (+) cable in order.
  5. Disconnect the BMS EXTN wire.

In case of fire

Do not touch any of the 48V components or cables, as doing so poses an electrocution hazard. Work on the vehicle only after the vehicle has been pulled out of the water.

■ Gas Strut

  • Risk of missile effect of hood and trunk.

trunkIt is recommended to allow the 48V Li-ion battery to burn itself out if it is judged that it is difficult to apply copious amounts of water to the high voltage battery.
In this case, the protection of the environment from smoke must be managed.

Towing / transportation / storage

OK :

Notice: AWD (All Wheel Drive) vehicle must be towed with all wheels off the ground, either on a flatbed tow truck or using doilies.
