SAFETY & WARNINGS

WARNING – KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

• Swallowing may lead to serious injury or death in as little as 2 hours, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the esophagus.
• If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 (Australia) or 0800 764 766 (New Zealand) for fast, expert advice.
• Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured, e.g. that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.
• Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.
• Tell others about the risk associated with button batteries and how to keep their children safe.

LED Backlight Kit

• The product is designed for use in dry indoor environments. This product is not suitable for use in damp environments.

• Do not allow children or animals to play with this product.

• Only use the product as instructed.

• The plastic packaging poses a suffocation hazard! Keep children and animals away from the packaging material.

• Risk of strangulation! Ensure that the connector cables are always out of the reach of small children and animals.

• Lay the cables so that they do not pose a tripping hazard.

• Do not look directly into the light source.

• Keep the product and the cables away from water or other liquids. If the product does fall in the water, immediately disconnect the power supply. Do not attempt to pull the product out of the water while it is connected to a device or to a power socket.

• Never touch the product or the cables with wet hands.

• Disconnect this product during the following scenarios:
  -If not used for an extended period of time.
  -If a fault occurs during operation.
  – Before a storm.
  – Before cleaning.

• Do not modify this product in any way.

• Always mount the product on a dry surface.

• Do not subject the product and cables to fire, extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperature, or direct sunlight.

• Keep the product and cables away from water and other liquids.

• Do not place any heavy objects on the product and cables.

• Only connect the product to a device that matches the product’s voltage specifications (5V).

• Ensure that the connector cables do not get pinched, kinked, or laid over sharp edges and do not come into contact with hot surfaces.

• If the product and cables show any signs of damage, cease use immediately and contact Kogan.com for support.

• Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning products to clean the Backlight Kit. Wipe the product off with a soft, dry cloth.

OVERVIEW

ASSEMBLY

Step 1:

Step 2:
Mounting locations of (F) and (G) can be moved to suit your requirements.

Step 3:

• Remove the adhesive backing from the magnet (L).
• Adhere the magnet (L) to the back of the remote control (K).
• The feet can be rotated to ensure the desk is sitting perfectly level.

Step 4:
Remove the backing paper from the stickers (M) and apply them to the side of the legs taking note of the dimensions shown below.

OPERATION

Applying the LED Backlight Kit

1. Clean and dry the surface you intend to stick the LED strips to.
2. Remove the backing strip from the 3M adhesive tape.
3. Press and hold the LED strip firmly against the surface.
4. Remove the tab from the battery compartment of the remote control.
5. Connect the USB cable to a USB port or 5V USB power adapter similar.

Changing the Remote Control Battery

1. The battery compartment is located on the narrow side of the remote control. Pull out the battery tray as shown (Figure 1).
2. Remove the old battery and insert a new 3V CR2025 battery. Ensure the positive terminal is pointing upwards.
3. Insert the battery tray while pushing the tab until it lock firmly in place back into the battery compartment.

Using the LED Backlights

WARNING: Do not look directly into the LEDs as this may cause damage to your eyes.

1. Press the ON button on the remote control to turn the LED lights on.
2. Select the desired color or the desired effect and push the corresponding button on the remote control. The color settings are mixed colors. For this reason, the color tints may exhibit minor deviations.
3. Use the Brightness control buttons to increase or decrease the intensity of LEDs.
4. Press the OFF button to turn off the LED backlights.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the product is not working properly, please first check whether you are able to rectify the problem yourself. If the product still doesn’t operate correctly contact Kogan.com for support.

Never attempt to repair a defective electrical product yourself.

If the LED lights do not switch on, check:

• Whether all cables are properly connected with one another.
• Whether all LED strips are properly aligned (all arrows are pointing in one direction).
• Whether the USB connector is properly connected to a USB port or power adapter.
• Whether the power outlet is defective. Try another outlet.
• The fuse or safety switch for your mains power.
• Whether the battery in the remote control is dead.
