IATA defines the general restrictions for dangerous goods regulations (IATA- DGR) for transporting and travelling with Li-Ion batteries by Air as a passenger or crew member. The Watt-hour (Wh) rating of the rechargeable Li-Ion battery will define the restrictions and in which way batteries can be checked-in as carry-on or checked-in baggage. Carry-on Li-Ion batteries must be certified in accordance with Part III, Sub-section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria.
