Carefully selected components are used to ensure the highest quality and the equipment is submitted to many tests both during and after manufacture. We trust that it will give you many years of reliable service.
Please read the instructions carefully before using, them for your safety and to obtain maximum benefit from many features.

Elinchrom TTL
The TTL (Through the Lens Metering) mode allows you to access fully automatic exposure setups according to your digital camera. If you wish to work in the Manual mode or combine both modes, the unit enables you to save the TTL exposure parameters as a starting point when passing to the manual mode. The unit supports Skyport radio remote control, TTL and HSS at full power and the fastest flash durations at low power levels. To operate the unit in the TTL mode, please use the radio remote Elinchrom Pro and activate the TTL function.

Manual mode

The functionality is constantly extended and improved, always use the latest firmware for the Transmitter Pro and the ONE flash unit.
Before you start
GENERAL USER SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Flash units are powerful light sources. Please be aware of the danger, or inconvenience, that they may present to some persons and children.
  • Keep flash units out of reach of unauthorized persons whenever possible.
  • Keep flash units away from children!
  • According to safety regulations, we draw your attention to the fact that electronic flash units are not designed for extreme outdoor use, in damp or dusty conditions and should not be used after being exposed to sudden temperature changes causing condensation.
  • The unit protection class conforms to IP20.
  • Do not use without permission in restricted areas (such as hospitals, laboratories, etc.).
  • Do not use near flammable/explosive material. Keep a minimum of 1m or more distance to any object.
  • Never flash into the eyes of a subject without warning. Close use may affect eyesight.
  • The ambient temperature whilst the unit is in use: -20°C (-4°F) up to max. 40°C (100°F). Storage temperature: 15°C up to 25°C. Charging temperature: 0°C to 40°C.
  • There is high voltage and there can be high currents, so please apply all the usual safety precautions when handling the unit.
  • Do not use flash units without a mounted and working flash tube due to high voltage at the exposed terminals!
  • Flash systems store electrical energy in capacitors by applying high voltage.
  • The battery unit may retain an internal charge for a considerable time.
  • Internal defective charge capacitors may explode whilst the unit is in use, so never switch on a flash unit, once it has been found to be faulty.
  • For your safety, never open or disassemble your flashes. Only an authorized service engineer should open or attempt to repair this unit.
  • Always switch off the flash unit before changing accessories.
  • The unit, the flash tube, and accessories may become very hot during and after use! To avoid injuries, handle with an insulating cloth or wait until parts have cooled down. Avoid direct sunlight, which might heat up the flash unit and affect the photocell efficiency. Protect the flash unit when used in humid conditions but ensure ventilation for cooling!
  • On no account should any object be inserted into the ventilation holes.
  • Use only original Elinchrom Accessories. Damaged cables, glass domes, and cases must be immediately replaced by customer service.

WARNING: PHOTOSENSITIVITY / EPILEPSY / SEIZURES A very small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures or blackouts when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights. These conditions may trigger previously undetected epileptic symptoms or seizures in persons who have no history of prior seizures or epilepsy. If you, or anyone in your family, has an epileptic condition or has had seizures of any kind, consult your physician before using the EL unit.
IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUE use and consult your physician before resuming use of your EL unit if you or any person experiences any of the following health problems or symptoms:

  • Dizziness
  • Eye or muscle twitches
  • Disorientation
  • Any involuntary movement
  • Altered vision
  • Loss of awareness
  • Seizures or convulsion

BATTERY SAFETY AND CHARGING NOTICE
IMPORTANT! FOR YOUR SAFETY do not use the Battery unit for a purpose other than those specified!

  • To recharge the internal battery we recommend using the Elinchrom 65W USB-C Wall Charger. If the recharging operation fails to complete even when a specified recharging time has elapsed, immediately stop further recharging and disconnect the charger.
  • If the internal battery gives off odors, generates heat, is deformed, or in any way appears abnormal during use, recharging or storage, immediately remove the Charger and stop using it.
  • Recharge the ONE after using. Store the unit only with a recharged battery!
  • If the ONE is not frequently used, recharge the unit the latest after three months to avoid damaging the Li-Ion cells by deep discharging.
  • Do not expose the unit to extreme heat, cold, or humidity to avoid damage.

DO NOT USE A FAULTY, APPARENTLY DAMAGED, OR DEFORMED BATTERY UNIT!
ELECTRICAL, CHEMICAL, AND MECHANICAL HAZARDS

  • Do not disassemble, open or modify the Battery unit.
  • Do not transport or store the Battery unit together with metal objects such as necklaces, hairpins, etc.
  • Do not pierce the Battery unit with a nail or other sharp objects, strike it with a hammer, or stand on it.
  • Do not strike or throw the Battery unit.
  • If the Battery unit leaks and electrolyte gets into the eyes, do not rub them. Instead, rinse the eyes with clean running water and immediately seek medical attention. Otherwise, eye injury may result.
  • Store the Battery unit in a location where children cannot reach it.
  • Do not put the Battery unit into a microwave oven or a pressurized container.

OUTDOOR USE
CAUTION! PROTECT THE BATTERY PACK AGAINST HUMIDITY!
This product is designed for dry use and should not come into contact with water or dust. In humid conditions cover or otherwise protect the battery unit. Do not immerse the Battery unit in water/seawater and do not allow it to get wet. The unit protection class conforms to IP20.

TEMPERATURE PRECAUTIONS

To prevent overheating the product should not be covered whilst in charge mode or in general use! Do not use, charge or leave the Battery unit near a heat source (+60°C or higher) such as an open fire, a heater, or direct sunlight. If the Battery unit has been exposed to very cold conditions, sudden exposure to warm or humid air may cause condensation and malfunction.
FLASH TUBES AND LED-MODELLING LIGHT SAFETY NOTICE

  • Flashtubes and the LED-Reflector dishes may become very hot during and after use!
  • Never touch a flash tube or exchange it before the unit has cooled down and is disconnected from the pack.
  • Do not fire flashes from short distances directed toward a person.
  • Do not use near flammable/explosive material.

The color of the Group corresponds to the group number :
Blue for Group 1
Yellow for Group 2

The Elinchrom logo on the side of the unit illuminates the color of the selected group.

Shows the most important settings, once the unit is configured. Displayed automatically after 45 sec of inactivity.

  1. On/Off Button.
    Long press: On/Off Short press: switch the display to Lock on / Flash / Modelling Lamp / LED color temperature.

  2. Screen brightness sensor.

    Save button: press to validate your choice.

On/Off Button

  • Press 2 sec. to switch the unit On/Off.
  • Short press to toggle between the displays: flash power, LED light, LED color temperature.
  • Return function: from Menu to power display.

Scroll Button

  • Press for Test flash.
  • Long press to display a user-friendly name.
  • Left turn to decrease values or scroll functions in the Menu.
  • Right turn to increase values or scroll functions in the Menu.
  • Short press to confirm settings in the Menu.

Menu Button
Press to enter the Menu for individual settings or touch shortly the screen with two fingers.

Use the scroll button to select the function or touch directly on the function with one finger, changing values swipe left / right:

  5. Frequency Icon (F): 1-20.

  8. LED Colour Icon: LED color temperature pre-sets, 6 options.

USB-C

 Wireless settings for IoT update (8) SSID / Setup
  1. Flash before ready: If flash before ready is activated, a flash can be released before the flash unit is 100% recharged, for fast shooting sequences. Deactivated, the unit will only release a flash when 100% recharged, for exact exposures at any power level.
  2. Flash Sale: use the power scale you prefer. The Elinchrom scale is compatible with all EL-flash units, just the 5.8 -10 power scale, -or power in Ws.
  3. Mod lamp VFC: Visual Flash Control, the LED will switch off shortly, after a flash was released as additional flash confirmation.
  4. Mod lamp Scale: LED power in f-stop, same as the EL flash scale or in percentage.
  5. Favorite function: In the display, a favorite function can be programmed for fast access. These functions are available; Modlamp / Flash mode / Audio / Photocell.
  6. EL logo mode: The EL logos on both sides of the unit can be dimmed or switched off. Additionally, they can be used as flash control features. The side logos will switch off shortly after releasing a flash, visible from flash power setting 2.5.
  7. EL logo color: The side logos can show the dedicated Group color to identify which unit works in which Group, or just set it to white. Blue for Group 1 Yellow for Group 2 Red for Group 3 Green for Group 4
  8. Wireless settings: The Wireless connection is needed to update the “ IoT module functionality” of the ONE. To proceed with regular Firmware updates, the UPDATER software is required, available as a free download on the EL website.

Screen Lock

Unit Lock
This feature prevents the unit switches on during transport and may discharge the Li-Ion battery. To activate this function: switch the unit off and press shortly and immediately “Menu”. To unlock the On/Off button, press on and immediately “Menu”.
Reset To Default Settings
Switch the unit on and release the ON button. When the EL Logo appears press immediately the “ON” and “Menu” buttons for 4 seconds until the display shows “Reload all default parameters”.

Charging / 65W USB-C Wall Charger
Use only the original Elinchrom ONE USB-C Charger to recharge the built-in Li- Ion battery.

  • Recharging time: Approximately 100 min. to 100%, when the unit is switched on (Fast charge mode).

  • Battery capacity min./max power: 9700 / 750 flashes per charged battery.

  • Recharge the unit only at temperatures from 0° C to 40° C.

  • Recharge the Li-Ion battery before storing the unit.

  • If the unit is not used frequently, recharge the unit after the latest 3 months.
    Charging / 65W USB-C Wall Charger Use only the original Elinchrom ONE USB-C Charger to recharge the built-in Li-Ion battery.

  • Recharging time: Approximately 100 min. to 100%, when the unit is switched on (Fast charge mode).

  • Active Charging: The ONE can be used whilst charging. When using the Elinchrom 65W USB-C Wall Charger, the fast charge will be activated, other USB-C sources need to be able to deliver at least 25W for the fast charge to be activated.

Charging / USB-C Power Bank
The ONE can be charged alternatively with the 18W USB-C Power Bank, which is optionally available at Elinchrom.

  • Recharging time: Approximately to 80% charge in 80 min. / 100% charge in 135 min. Recharge the unit only at temperatures from 0° C to 40° C.
  • When the unit is switched off and the charger connected, the EL-logos on both sides will light up and indicate the charge levels: red – charging, orange – almost charged, green – unit is charged.
  • Active Charging: The ONE can be used whilst charging.

Firmware Update via USB-C

  • Download the Updater software from elinchrom.com.
  • Connect the USB-C cable to the computer.
  • Press the Scroll while the unit is OFF and connect the cable to the unit.
  • When “USB Mode” is displayed, launch the Updater.
  • Launch the Updater software and follow the instruction on the screen.

Updating the IoT (Bluetooth®) Module ONE Wireless Update procedure

  1. Go into the menu and click on the “parameters” wheel.

  2. Scroll down until the parameter “Wireless update >>>” and enter the submenu.

  3. Wait a few seconds until the networks are displayed and select your one.

  4. Enter your password.

    If you chose to enter your password via the touch screen, you can change the actual character by scrolling up and down. You can validate the character by tapping on it (or sliding on the right) and remove it by tapping on the “back” icon (or sliding on the left). The character type can be changed by tapping directly on it. Once done, tap one time shortly on the sentence “long press to save”.
    Keyboard
    If you chose to use the keyboard, you can change the actual character by turning the knob. You can validate the character by pressing on the knob and removing it by pressing the left button. The character type can be changed through the right button. Once done, long press on the knob to start the connexion.
    Note: to go back to the previous screen, delete a character when there is nothing in the password.

  5. Message on the display: Connected successfully.

  6. Wait until the update is finished (can take a few minutes).

  7. Message on the display: OTA updated successfully.

ONE is ready and can be used with the Elinchrom Studio and iOS App.
Replacing the Flash Tube // 24091

  1. Switch the unit off and remove the charger.

  2. Wait for 30 min., whilst the internal discharging is in progress. Flashtube and internal reflector dish can be hot!

  3. To remove the glass dome, you require a screwdriver. Remove the three screws which hold the glass dome with the metal ring on the inner reflector dish.

  4. Never touch flash tubes, please use gloves. Pull the flash tube carefully out. HIGH VOLTAGE! Never touch broken flash tubes or electrodes! In this case, remove the flashtube with an isolated clamp!

  5. Insert a new flash tube, please use gloves.

  6. Use only the original Elinchrom flashcube for this unit, third party flashtubes may damage the flash unit.

  7. Please check that the trigger contact fork firmly grips the flash tube.

  8. Re-mount the glass dome with the metal ring by using the 3x screws.

  9. Ensure that all parts are in place and test the unit.

Tilt Head
The metal tilt head is removable, fixed with a ¼-inch screw lock to pack the unit small if needed or to fix the ONE to other standard supports, boom arms, grips, etc. It includes the umbrella fitting as well for 7-8mm umbrella shafts and a two-way mount option for stands.

MAINTENANCE

The ONE battery compact flash unit requires only very little maintenance. To ensure secure operation please check the following points regularly before using:

  • Ensure that the plug-in flash tube is correctly fitted.
  • Do not use water to clean dust and dirt from the unit.
  • Ventilation grids must be clean and free of any tape, etc.
  • The functionality is constantly extended and improved, please check at www.elinchrom.com if a new firmware is available.

CAUTION!
Under no circumstances open any part of the equipment. The Elinchrom ONE unit is not user serviceable and contains dangerous high voltage. In the event of difficulty contact your Elinchrom Service partner.
REGULAR CHECK
National Safety regulations require frequent safety checks of electrical equipment. The Elinchrom ONE unit should be checked once a year. This check not only guarantees safety; it also protects the value of the unit.
RETURN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE
To achieve maximum protection of the unit when sending it in for service, the original packaging should be kept. For service and sales, please contact your local

TRANSPORTATION
Use only the original cartons or cases when you travel or ship flash units to avoid transportation damages. Try to avoid condensation-related problems, and acclimatize flash units before using them.
Ideally, discharge flash units before transporting them and wait 30 minutes after the USB-C cable has been removed so the unit has cooled down. Never drop a flash unit; the flash tube and internal components could break.
DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING
This device has been manufactured to the highest standards from materials that can be recycled or disposed of in a manner that is not environmentally damaging. The device may be taken back after use to be recycled, provided that it is returned in a condition that is the result of normal use. Any components not reclaimable will be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.
