STROBE WARNING
Exposure to strobing lights may cause dizziness, disorientation, and nausea. A very small percentage of people suffer from photosensitive epilepsy and may experience seizures or blackouts triggered by strobing lights. Anyone who has had symptoms linked to this condition should consult a doctor before using this product.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTRINSIC SAFETY
For personal safety, always confirm the rating of any known hazardous or potentially hazardous location where the light is to be used.
INSTALLING BATTERIES INTO THE FORM
- To install the included CR123A Lithium Batteries in the FORTEM, begin by unscrewing the screw on the battery compartment door. (Image 1)
- Insert both batteries into the battery compartment paying attention to the battery orientation marked on the back of the battery compartment door. (Image 2)
- Re-install the battery compartment screw by pressing the door fully closed and then tightening the screw until it is hand tight. CAUTION: Do not cross-tread or strip the screw threads. (Image 3)
- Test the operation of the light (see OPERATION below).
INSTALLING THE FOR TEM ONTO THE HELMET
- Choose the side of the helmet you wish to mount the light on.
- Rotate the mount to orient the clamp with a thumbscrew on top.
- Open the clamp completely and fully seat over the helmet brim, ensuring the clamp clears any rubber helmet trim. (Image 4)
Tighten the clamp fi rmly with included Allen wrench. (Image 5)

SETTING THE ANGLE OF THE LIGHT
- Twist the light left or right on the vertical pivot until the beam pattern is in an ideal position.
- The tension on the mount is meant to be firm to maintain the aim.
- Once aimed, the mount allows the user to position light above or below the brim by rotating up or down as needed.
OPERATION
The FORTEM has seven lighting modes:
- Constant-on high-brightness flashlight
- Medium-brightness flashlight
- Low-brightness flashlight
- Constant-on high-brightness floodlight
- Medium-brightness floodlight
- low-brightness floodlight
- Constant-on Dual-Light mode
The FORTEM has two switches, the flashlight switch (closest to the front of
the light) and the floodlight switch (closest to the rear of the light)
provide access to all modes.
CONSTANT-ON FLASHLIGHT
Press the flashlight switch (closest to the front of the light) until it
clicks and then releases for a constant-on flashlight in high-brightness mode.
Press and release this same switch again to turn the light off.
SELECT FLASHLIGHT BRIGHTNESS LEVEL
Press and hold down the flashlight switch. The flashlight will cycle from high
to medium to low and then back up again at a rate of approximately one mode
per second. The light will continue to cycle up and down through the various
modes as long as the flashlight switch is held down. When the desired
brightness level is reached, simply release the flashlight switch, and the
light will remain in that brightness mode. Pressing and holding the flashlight
switch again will cause the light to cycle from whatever mode it is currently
in. Press and release the flashlight switch to turn the light off.
CONSTANT-ON FLOODLIGHT
Press the floodlight switch (closest to the rear of the light) until it clicks
and then releases for constant-on floodlight in high-brightness mode. Press
and release this same switch again to turn the light off.
SELECT FLOODLIGHT BRIGHTNESS LEVEL
Press and hold down the floodlight switch. The floodlight will cycle from high
to medium to low and then back up again at a rate of approximately one mode
per second. The light will continue to cycle up and down through the various
modes as long as the floodlight switch is held down. When the desired
brightness level is reached, simply release the floodlight switch, and the
light will remain in that brightness mode. Pressing and holding the floodlight

DUAL-LIGHT
Dual-Light allows the user to turn on both the Flashlight and the Floodlight,
at the same time. Simply press each switch to turn on each lighting mode. Both
the Flashlight and the Floodlight are now running. Press and release each
switch to turn the light off.
WARRANTY
LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
Bayco Products, Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects in
workmanship and materials for the original purchaser’s lifetime. The Limited
Lifetime Warranty includes LEDs, housing, and lenses. Rechargeable batteries,
chargers, switches, electronics and included accessories are warranted for a
period of two years with proof of purchase. Normal wear and failures which are
caused by accidents, misuse, abuse, faulty installation and lightning damage
are excluded.
We will repair or replace this product should we determine it to be defective.
This is the only warranty, expressed or implied, including any warranty of
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
