- D: 1.3 (33mm)
Installation
- Loosen the Lock Screw (Thumb Screw) by rotating it counter-clockwise to allow the sensor to slide over the top of the F-300 flowmeter easily.
- Slide the sensor to the desired location on the flowmeter body.
- Secure the sensor in place by tightening the Lock Screw (rotate clockwise).
Flow Switch
The sensor contact is closed when the top of the float is inside the Alarm
Trigger Zone (Hysteresis).
The sensor contact is open when the top of the float is outside of the Alarm
Trigger Zone.
Flow Rate
If the float leaves the Alarm trigger zone, a built-in contact closure
switch can remotely turn on/off a chemical pump and/or other external devices.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
How do I know if my F-300 model is compatible with the flow sensor?
F-300S is compatible with models 1.5 – 4, while F-300SL is compatible with models 1 – 1.25. -
What should I do if my pool water contains metallic particles?
If your pool water contains metallic particles from rust or stainless steel exposed to chlorine, you may need to clean the F-300 flow meter more frequently.
Check F-300 models to ensure flow switch / flow rate sensor is compatible. F-300 flow meter float must be replaced with provided magnetized Yellow Float.
Note: F-300 may require more frequent cleaning if pool water contains
metallic particles from rust or from stainless steel exposed to chorine.
How do you know if your model F-300 is compatible for use with flow sensor?
- F-300S is compatible with 1.5” – 4” models.
- F-300SL is compatible with 1” – 1.25” models.

Circuit Diagram
High surge currents may cause damage to the sensor and significantly reduce its life, the following circuit is, therefore, highly recommended.
VOLTAGE @ Max AMP. (V) | Minimum R (OHM) +- 20% |
---|---|
30 DC/AC @ .033 AMP. | 1000 |

Installation
Lock Screw (Thumb Screw) should be loosened (counter clockwise) so the sensor
can slide with ease over the top of the F-300 flowmeter. Slide to desired
location on flowmeter body. Secure with Lock Screw by tightening (rotate
clockwise). Sensor contact is closed when top of float is inside the Alarm
Trigger Zone (Hysteresis) Sensor contact is open when top of float is outside
of the Alarm Trigger Zone
4.1) Flow Switch: See Figure 1
4.1) Flow Rate: See Figure 2
Flow Switch Figure 1
If float leaves “Alarm trigger zone,” a built-in contact closure switch can
remotely turn on/off a chemical pump and/or other external devices.
With sensor installed all the way down, the switch can detect a flow / no flow
situation.
Flow Rate Figure 2
With flow rate sensor installed at targeted flow rate, the sensor can detect if
your flow is within desired range.
Flow Sensor can be moved to any position along scale. Tighten Lock Screw with
fingers to secure position.
