INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before putting your appliance into service
Remove all inner and outer packaging components.
Check that none of the following parts are missing:
NO. | Contents | BC-90A |
---|---|---|
1 | Main appliance | 1 unit |
3 | Operation manual | 1 copy |
- Before connecting your appliance to a power supply, allow it to stand upright for about 2 hours. This reduces the risk of malfunction of the refrigeration system due to handling during transport.
- Clean the inner surfaces of the unit with a soft cloth and warm water.
- Place your unit on a floor strong enough to support the weight of the fully filled unit.
- Make sure the unit is level by adjusting the front feet underneath the unit. Make sure that the appliance rests on its feet in a stable manner.
- Install the appliance away from direct sunlight and heat sources (radiator, hot plate, etc.). Direct sunlight can damage the unit’s coating and heat can increase its power consumption. If the ambient temperature is extremely cold or hot, this may prevent the unit from operating properly.
- The unit is not designed to be installed in a basement or appliance.
- Caution: Make sure that the unit is kept away from any substance that may cause combustion.
- Check that the water tank is in place before connecting the unit.
POWER FAILURE
If there is a power failure, do not open the appliance door. Frozen food should not be affected if the power failure lasts for less than 15 hours. Do not refreeze frozen foods that have thawed completely. The food may be dangerous to eat.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning your appliance
- Unplug your appliance and remove all the food.
- Clean the inner surfaces with warm water and a mild detergent.

REVERSING THE DOOR:
Users can change the direction of opening according to one’s own needs The concrete operating sequence is as follows:
-
Using a flat blade screwdriver, remove the plastic hinge cover from the top of the door.
Be careful not to scratch freezer surface. -
Using a slotted screwdriver, unscrew the three screws from the top hinge bracket. Remove the bracket. Lift and remove the door from the bottom hinge pin. Set door safely aside.
-
On the opposite side of the unit, use a thinbladed tool to carefully pry up and remove the hole plug from top of door and plastic square cover from top of cabinet. Insert plug and cover into provided hole on opposite side of door and into holes exposed by removal of top hinge bracket.
-
Unscrew and remove the leveling foot from he bottom hinge bracket. Using a slotted screwdriver, remove the two screws attaching he bottom hinge bracket to the cabinet. Unscrew the foot from the other side of cabinet. Attach bracket and feet to opposite sides from which removed.
-
Mount the door onto the bottom bracket. Insert top bracket hinge pin into hole in top of door. Use the three previously removed screws to attach back of top bracket to cabinet.
-
Replace the plastic hinge cover over the top hinge bracket.
7.Check that the door is aligned horizontally and vertically with the the perimeter of the cabinet opening before finally tightening the top hinge. After tightening, adjust the leveling feet if necessary to align the door evenly with the floor.
CAUTION: If the freezer has been placed in a horizontal or tilted position for ease of doing reversal, wait 24 hours before plugging it in. Plugging in sooner may result in permanent damage to cooling system.
ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURES AND FUNCTIONS
Your unit has only one control for regulating the temperature in the
compartment. The temperature control is located on the upper right hand side
of the compartment.
The first time you turn the unit on, set the temperature control to “7”. The
range of the temperature control is from position “0” to “7”. After 24 to 48
hours, adjust the temperature control to the setting that best suits your
needs. The setting of “4 – 5” should be appropriate for home or office use.
To turn the refrigerator off, turn the temperature control to ”0”.
NOTE:
- Turning the temperature control to “0” position stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off the power to the unit.
- If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the unit will not start.
The combination of drawers, baskets and shelves that result in the most efficient use of energy for the appliance is the default configuration after you open the package.
FOOD CONSERVATION
Carefully wrap fresh foods to ensure that they keep their flavor, color,
moisture and freshness. This also prevents the taste of some foods
contaminating the taste of others. Only vegetables, fruit and salad vegetables
can be stored in the vegetable compartment without being packed. Let
hot dishes and drinks cool down outside the appliance. Remove the cardboard
packs from around yoghurt pots. Check the consume-by dates on the
products you have bought.
Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator, so that it
is not in contact with and cannot drip onto other food.
ARRANGING FOOD IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR
The temperature inside your refrigerator is not uniform.
Some areas are colder than others, and you must store your food in the
appropriate areas according to their type to ensure that they can be kept
safely. Leave a space between food items to allow theair to circulate freely
and prevent different products contaminating each other.
Do not put packages and food in contact with the wall at the back of the
appliance; this is a particularly cold and damp area of the appliance and
water droplets and frost condense there as part of your refrigerator’s normal
operation.
The coldest area, at the bottom of the fridge, is designed for delicate,
sensitive and highly perishable food such as meat, poultry, fish, cooked
meats, prepared dishes, ready-made salads, egg or cream based dishes and
pastries, fresh pasta, pastry, pizza/quiches, fresh produce and raw milk
cheese, ready-to-use vegetables sold in plastic bags and, more generally, any
fresh product whose consume-by date is linked to its storage at a temperature
of +4°C or below.
If the food cannot be stored in a suitable area and at a proper temperature,
it might perish.
The following symbol shows the coolest zone in the refrigerator. This zone is
between the fruit and vegetable glass shelf and the symbol, or the shelf
located at the same height. To guarantee temperatures in this zone, do not
modify the positioning of the shelves. Temperature indicator installation
To help you set your refrigerator, it should be equipped with a temperature
indicator which will help to control the average temperature in the coolest
zone.
CAUTION: this indicator is set to work with this refrigerator. Do not use
it in another refrigerator or for another purpose.
Temperature check in the coolest zone
This indicator allows you to check that the temperature in the coolest zone is
correct. The temperature inside the refrigerator differs according to several
factors such as the ambient temperature, the quantity of food loaded in the
refrigerator and the frequency with which the door is opened. Take these
factors into consideration when setting the temperature of the appliance. When
the indicator reads OK, it means that your thermostat is set correctly, and
that the indoor temperature is correct. If there is no color on the indicator,
this means that the temperature is too high. In this case, increase the
setting of the thermostat and wait for a while before performing another
visual check of the indicator. After loading or opening the door, the
indicator may show no color for a while.
