INSTRUCTION MANUAL
The RedBeam LED is a handy tool for amateur r astronomer. It features a four
brightness LED (light-emitting diode), and a setting to turn the LED on and
off by waving your hand in front of the light.
Tap the power button to cycle through the brightness modes. There are four
brightness modes available (5%10%-50%-100%), and tapping the button again
after the 100% setting will turn the light off.
In order to use the motion-sensing setting, press and hold the power button
for approximately 2 seconds. You will see a faint red light show below the
surface of the power button indicating the headlamp has activated the motion
sensing mode. Wave your hand within about 4” of the front of the headlamp to
cycle the light on/off. Only the 100% brightness setting is used while in
motion sensing mode. Tap the power button once to turn the lamp and
motion sensing mode off. The motion sensor is focused to about 4” away so
movement in the distance doesn’t constantly turn the light on and off.
Adjustments:
The elastic band of the Redbeam is adjustable to fit most head sizes. Slide
the band through the brackets in order to find a circumference that is
comfortable around your head. The light itself can be angled downwards by
grasping the main body of the flashlight and pivoting along with the hinged
bracket on the back of the flashlight.
Batteries:
The RedBeam uses three AAA batteries. Lithium batteries typically last longer
than alkaline batteries, but any battery you choose will give a relatively
long life due to the small current draw of the LED. Changing the batteries Pry
the battery compartment lid clip up slightly with a fingernail while pulling
back on the battery cover to open up the battery compartment. Be careful of
the + and – labels on the wall of the compartment to make sure the batteries
are installed in the proper orientation. Close the lid back up and power the
headlamp on.
