• Maintain this product. Check for misalignment, binding, wear, or other damage before use.
  If any damage is detected, repair or replace the problematic components before further use.
  In a large shop, mark such tools DO NOT USE until they have been repaired. Only replace components with identical parts.

Installation

1. Use a T50 torx wrench (D) to remove the rear bolt. Leave the front bolt in place.

2. Attach the lower part of the shock (A) to the lower ball mount (E).

3. Apply Threadlocker (H) to the threads of one of the provided M6 bolts (B). Insert the bolt through the bracket’s hole as shown, then use the M6 hex wrench to thread it into the rear bolt location from Step 1. Do not tighten it fully yet.

4. Remove the front bolt and install the supplied flathead bolt through the bracket into the hole.
   Fully tighten both bolts using an M6 hex wrench (C).

5. Apply threadlocker to the threads of the bolt removed in the previous step. Reinstall the bolt through the hole in the upper ball mount plate (F) and tighten it with your T50 torx wrench.

6. Reinstall the bolt removed in the previous step through the hole in the upper ball mount plate (F) and tighten it with your T50 torx wrench.

7. Reinstall the tailgate cable onto the cable bolt by sliding it back in and securing it with the spring clip. Use a flathead screwdriver (not included) to ensure the clip is properly seated.

8. Attach the larger part of the shock to the ball mount plate. Test the tailgate to ensure it opens and closes smoothly and without resistance.

Maintenance

• Clean these tools with a dry brush or cloth after use. If rinsing is necessary, dry all parts completely before storage. Clean the tailgate assist as needed. Never use abrasive cleaners or caustic chemicals with any part.

• Check the tailgate assist and these tools periodically for any looseness, wear, or damage.
  Tighten, repair, or replace any problematic parts before further use.

• If the assist will not be used for an extended period of time, remove and store in a cool dry place inaccessible to children.
