The following instructions are applicable to adding your Smart LED plug to an
Alexa Device that supports BLE Mesh plugs. Note: Please ensure your Amazon
Alexa device is set up before adding the Smart plug. It needs to have the
latest software upgrade. You can try “Alexa, is my software up to date?” to
trigger software updates, then add the smart plug.
- Sengled Smart Plug is created for Frustration-Free Setup. If you have purchased the plugs from Amazon using the same Amazon shop account as your Alexa App account and had selected “Link to my Amazon account to simplify setup” before paying for them on Amazon shop, you can install the plug close to your compatible Alexa device and power it on. The plug can join the Bluetooth network automatically.
- You can also try the traditional way to set up plug by asking “Alexa, discover devices.” After the plug gets discovered and connected with the Echo device, you will receive a notification from the Alexa app. You may also receive a voice prompt from your Echo device if you have a single Echo device at home.
Mesh Network Setup
If you want to have multiple plugs set up for different rooms, especially
rooms out of the range of the Alexa device’s signal range, you can utilize a
Mesh Network setup to extend the range.
- First, Set up the smart plugs close to the Alexa device.
- Unplug the smart plug move it farther away from the Alexa device and make sure it’s within Bluetooth distance of another active Bluetooth device, which is connected to the network as a node. This will form a Bluetooth Mesh network. Each connected device will connect with other Bluetooth devices (nodes) within the range.
- Once you have successfully connected the device to your Alexa app, you may attach it to wherever you would like in your home. Congratulations on successfully setting up your smart plug.
Reset Instructions:
