SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Read these instructions carefully and charge the battery for the appliance before use.
  • Wear safety glasses. Improper use can result in the risk of personal injury. If you get battery fluid in your eyes, rinse your eyes with clean water for at least 10 minutes and then seek immediate medical attention.
  • Improper use of the appliance can result in the risk of explosion and serious personal injury and/or material damage.
  • When the appliance is not in use the black inverter power switch must be in the OFF position to avoid the risk of personal injury and/or material damage if the clamps are short-circuited.
  • Never short-circuit the clamps with any metal object, or by allowing them to touch each other.
  • Check that the vehicle battery is 12 V, otherwise there is a risk of explosion and/ or serious personal injury.
  • Before starting the appliance check that the clamps are connected with the right polarity, otherwise the appliance or the battery can explode and cause serious injury and/or material damage.
  • Make sure that the vehicle to be started is placed in a well-ventilated area.
  • Do not expose the appliance to moisture or water.

WARNING!

  • The appliance cannot be used instead of the vehicle’s own battery.
  • The positive clamp must be connected to the positive terminal on the battery first. After which the negative clamp is connected to the negative terminal on the battery or the vehicle chassis.

USE

Intended use
  • The auxiliary starter is intended to start cars, boats etc. with 12 V batteries.
  • The auxiliary starter has two 12 V outlets, with 12 A overcurrent protection, which can be used to power most appliances intended to be connected to a 12 V outlet (max15A).
  • The built-in battery in the auxiliary starter is charged with an external charger, which is connected to the charger port on the auxiliary starter. The auxiliary starter has a built-in overcharge protection.
  • USB port with 5 V DC output voltage to charge mobile phone or equivalent.
Charging the auxiliary starter battery
  1. Connect the charger to the mains.
  2. Plug in the charger. The three status lights flash in turn to show that the built-in battery is being charged.
  3. It takes 6-40 hours to fully charge the built-in battery, depending on the condition of the battery.
  4. When the battery is fully charged the green status light goes on
  5. Allow charging to continue if possible, to prolong battery life.
  6. Disconnect the charger.
  7. We recommend keeping the battery fully charged for best results and lifespan. The battery capacity and lifespan will be adversely affected if it is left discharged for a long time.

NOTE:

  • Only use the supplied charger. Other chargers can reduce the lifespan of the battery, or cause it to explode and cause personal injury or material damage.
  • Charge the built-in battery in the auxiliary starter before using it for the first time
  • Check the charge level in the built-in battery by pressing the battery check button and checking the status lights. If the red status light goes on, charge the battery as soon as possible.
  • Charge the built-in battery in the auxiliary starter every three months if not in use.
Outlet 12 V DC
  1. Open the cover over the outlet.
  2. Plug in the plug on the appliance.

NOTE:
Max output 200 W. The outlet has overload protection with automatic reset. In an emergency the internal battery in the auxiliary starter can be charged from the 12 v outlet in the vehicle – but cannot be fully charged in this way. Use the AC charger to fully charge.

Auxiliary start function
  1. Check that the lights and all the other extras in the vehicle are switched off.
  2. Firmly connect the red positive clamp(+) on the auxiliary starter to the positive terminal(+) on the vehicle battery.
  3. Connect the black negative clamp(-) to the negative terminal (-) on the battery, or to a metal part on the vehicle. The green status light goes on if there is a good connection.
  4. Put the power switch in the ON position.
  5. Turn the ignition key in the vehicle to start. Do not attempt to start for more than 5 seconds.
  6. If the vehicle does not start wait for at least 3 minutes, and then try again.
  7. If the engine starts, set the power switch to the OFF position.
  8. Disconnect the black negative cable (-) and put it out of the way
  9. Disconnect the red positive cable(+) and put it out of the way.
  10. Recharge the built-in battery in the auxiliary starter as soon as possible

WARNING!

  • Check that the vehicle battery is 12 V, or there will be a risk of explosion and/or serious injury.
  • Before switching the appliance ON, check that the clamps are connected with the right polarity.
  • Follow the instructions, otherwise there is a risk of personal injury and/or material damage

MAINTENANCE

Charging instructions
  • Fully charge the battery before using it for the first time.
  • Always recharge the battery after use.
  • Fully charge the battery every 3 months.
Replacing the rechargeable battery
  1. Undo the 6 screws holding the back cover.
  2. Separate the front and back covers to expose the battery.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Unscrew the positive and negative wires from the battery.
  5. Connect the red positive wire to the battery’s positive terminal(+) and the black negative wire to the battery’s negative terminal (-).
  6. Put the new battery in the battery compartment.
  7. Replace the back cover and tighten the screws.
  8. Dispose of old batteries in accordance with local regulations.
