WORKING PRINCIPLES

Fat measurement is performed by one of the most reliable measurement methods, which is the bio-impedance method, where the scale passes a small electrical current (generated by the electrodes) of a given frequency through the human body, such as fatty tissues do not have much water, they create a resistance (impedance) to the flow of the current, being stronger than in the lean tissues represented by the muscles or other human tissues, where the current moves faster because they have more water and electrolytes, the fat percentage will be measured according to resistance differences when the electrical transmission signal passes through the human body. This current is harmless to the organism.

PREPARING FOR USE

Important prior information

  • Always weigh yourself in the same conditions (at the same time of day, with the same state of hydration and after excretion and urination).
  • Must be fasting (at least 2 hours after the last meal).
  • You should be hydrated, not having been ingested alcoholic or stimulating drinks (tea, coffee, among others), or having any intense physical activity in the last 12 hours.
  • Remove all metal accessories.
  • Specific medical conditions, medication intake, menstrual cycle, etc., may alter the results.
  • Stand on feet dry and barefoot, aligned and in a stable position upon the scale.
Before operation
  • Make sure that all the packaging materials have been properly removed before use, including stickers or plastics.
  • Place the scale on a hard, stable and flat surface (such as marble, floor tile, etc.) and away from cushioned floor.
  • Pay special attention to that there are no foreign objects beneath the scale before weighing.
Replace the battery

The scale comes equipped from factory with 1 lithium battery type CR2032 (button), which is isolated with a plastic film to preserve.

  • Before attempting to use the scale for the first time, remove the battery insulating strip located underneath the battery in the battery compartment, pulling it out.

To replace the spent battery:

  • Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the appliance. Press battery gently, it will pop up automatically.
  • Install the new battery by connecting one side of battery to the positive plate first, and then pressing down the other side. Please observe the polarity.
  • Close the batteries compartment correctly.

Select the unit of measure kg / lb / st

  • The scale can be converted to kg (kilograms) / lb (pounds) / st (stones).

  • The button of the unit of measurement (D) is located on the bottom side of the appliance.

  • Press the unit conversion button (D) when the scale is power off. The unit of measurement set by default will be displayed on the LCD monitor (C).

  • Press button (D) to change to desired unit of measure kg / lb / st.

  • After selecting the preferred unit, the scale will be auto-off after 3 seconds. Selected weight unit will be activated when the scale is turned on again.
Note: When setting lb/st as weight unit, the default height unit is feet/inch; When setting kg as weight unit, the default height unit is centimetre.
Remark: The unit system of scale depends on sales destination or the requirement of distributor.

Operation – normal weighing mode

  • To ensure the most accurate reading, place the scale on a hard, flat, even surface. Avoid carpet or soft surfaces and make sure there are no foreign objects beneath the scale before weighing.
  • Gently step on the scale platform (A) to turn it on.
  • Stand on the scale with feet evenly spaced, without moving and wait until your weight reading is shown on the LCD display (C).
  • The value on the display (B) will flash and lock showing the final weight reading.
  • While your weight is not locked, the display (C) digits will flash. For more accurate readings remain motionless on the platform (A).
  • The scale will turn off automatically after you stop pressing the platform (A).

Consecutive add-on weighing

  • After digits stabilize, more additional loadings can be conducted. Ensure each add-on loading has to exceed 2kg to get a new reading.
  • For example: if you want to get a weighing value of your baby, you can weigh yourself first, and then hold your baby together, without stepping off the scale. Then you will get the total weight reading. Subtracting the previous reading of yourself from the new reading, you will get the difference as your baby’s weighing value.
Previous setting of personal data before making the remaining

measurements

  1. Setting personal parameters
At the first time when you install battery and switch on, all default parameter are set as follow: Memory| Gender| Height| Age
    ---|---|---|---
    1| Male| 165cm/5’05.0’’| 25
  2. Parameters can be set in the following range:
Memory Gender Height Age
1~12 Female /Male 100-250 cm
3’035’’~8’02.5’’ 10~100
  1. Parameter setting
    • In order to measure the percentage of body fat and other physical data, some user parameters must be entered beforehand:
Example: the 3rd user, female, 168cm, 28 years old
    • Press SET/ON button to switch on the scale.
    • On the LCD display (C) the default parameters are shown.
    • Press or buttons to select user code 3.
    • Press SET/ON button to confirm and prompt to next setting.

    • Press SET/ON button to confirm and prompt to next setting.
    • Press or buttons to select the 3rd user age.
    • Tap on the scale bamboo platform (A).
    • After entering all necessary parameters the display (C) indicates “0.0”.
    • After a few seconds, the scale switches off automatically.
    Notes:
    • During parameter setting, if idle for 6 seconds, the parameters already set will be memorized automatically and LCD (C) shows “0” meaning body fat measuring will be started.
    • If LCD (C) prompt to show “0” during parameter setting, press SET(ON/SET) for 3 seconds to return setting mode, then you can set user code, gender, height and age.

Start measurement

  • Remove shoes and socks before step onto platform (A).

  • Make sure that the bare feet are in direct contact with the metal electrodes (E) of the scale platform (A), or the percentage of body fat cannot be measured.

  • Stay motionless until the weight is displayed on the LCD display (B).

  • Example: The third user, female, 168cm, 28 years old can measure as follow:

  • Press SET/ON button to switch on the scale.

  • The last user data or default data appears on the LCD display (C).

  • Press the  or buttons to select the user code 3 or to erase the stored parameters.

  • ap on the scale bamboo platform (A).

  • The display (C) shows “0.0”. Step onto weighing platform (A) gently (ATTENTION: both feet must come into contact with the metal  electrodes).

  • Wait for the digits in the display (C) to stabilize.

  • After the weight has been checked and locked, the display (C) flashes once and goes to the remaining measurements.

  • Measured results (repeated 3 times):
    Weight: 52,8 | Body status: | % Fat: 23,8% | % Hydration: 52,3% | % Muscle: 37,2% | % Bone: 12% | Calorie: 1840

  • After 2 minutes of inactivity, the scale will be switched off automatically.

Recall results in memory
  • Press SET/ON button to switch on the scale.

  • The display (C) displays the results of the last user or the default.
