iOttie Easy One Touch Connect Alexa Built-in Dashboard and Windshield Mount User Guide

Quick Start Guide

This quick start guide will help you use your Easy One Touch Connect right away. For most up to date manual please vist: www.websiteTBD. For more detailed instructions or troubleshooting, please read the full installation and software manuals.

Manuals should be followed in order: 1. Quick Start Guide 2.Installation, then 3. Software.

Make sure that the iOttie Connect App & the Alexa App aren’t on at the same time. Device won’t connect to your phone if they are.

Mounting Guide

1. Assemble the mount.
2. Select a location in your car: Dashboard or Windshield.
3. Apply Dash Pad to flat surface. No Dash Pad is required for windshield or curved surface.
4. Apply Sticky Suction Cup to Dash Pad or desired area on windshield.
5. Connect to power.

Software Guide

1. Install both the iOttie Connect app and the Alexa app on your phone.
2. Make sure Bluetooth is enable, permissions are given for voice messaging, & location settings are enabled on your smartphone.
3. With the Alexa app closed, connect the iOttie Connect app to the Easy One Touch Connect to update firmware.
4. Close the iOttie app and log into the Alexa app with your Amazon log-in.
5. Add device as “headphones”.
6. In the set-up menu, select “Easy One Touch Connect” and select continue.
7. Select “done” and you can begin using Alexa in your car!

Critical Information

• The Easy One Touch Connect is mounted with a semi-permanent adhesive tape. Each base is one-time use only. Once removed, it cannot be re mounted.
• When mounting, it is recommended that the surface & product be above 40° F

Installation

1. Assembling the Mount

   • Connect the Mount Cradle with the Ball Joint
     

   • Then, tighten the Cradle Knob.

2. Selecting a Location
   Choose desired mounting area and wipe any dust or debris from the surface.

3. For Dashboard or Flat Surface: Peel off the film on the dashboard pad & stick on the desired installation location

4. Peel off the protective film on the Suction Cup and press mount firmly onto the dashboard pad.

5. . Push Locking Lever down to engage suction.

Connecting Power

1. The Easy One Touch Connect is powered via a micro-USB cable. There is no off/on switch on the device. Once it is plugged in, the device will remain on unless the vehicle shuts off power when in parking mode.

2. Plug the micro-USB cable into the USB port on the back of the Mounting Head.
   

3. . Insert Car Charger into your vehicle’s power port

Using the Easy One Touch Mechanism
The Easy One Touch lock and release mechanism makes it simple to mount & retrieve smartphones in seconds.

Mounting

1. Press the locking side arms in.
   

2. Press your device against the Easy One Touch trigger button. The mount’s arms will automatically close.
   

Releasing
Press the locking side arms with one hand and retrieve the device.

Adjusting the Mount

1. Cradle Knob
   For landscape mode, loosen to rotate the Cradle. Tighten to lock.
   

2. Foot Knob
   Located on the lower back of Cradle. Loosen to re-position mount’s foot up & down.
   

3. Telescopic Knob
   Located on top of Telescopic Arm, loosen to extend the arm, and tighten to secure distance.
   

4. Pivot Knob
   Located on the side of the Mount Base, turning allows you to pivot telescopic arm. Tighten to secure position.

The Easy One Touch Connect supports access to more than 80,000 Alexa skills right from your vehicle. • Some Alexa Skills may require an Amazon Prime membership.
• Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is on and connected to your car’s Bluetooth.
• For voice messaging, please allow permission settings by going to Contacts>Profile and Settings> Permission
• The iOttie Connect app is needed to install the latest firmware. When updating firmware, make sure Alexa app is closed or the firmware won’t update.
• The Easy One Touch Connect with Built-in Alexa uses your data when not connected to wifi. A clear network connection is needed for Alexa to work, otherwise there may be delays or interruptions. iOttie is not liable for data usage.
• Alexa streams media instead of local files. Please note that this may use data. iOttie is not liable for data usage.

Software Setup

Make sure that the iOttie Connect app and the Alexa app aren’t open at the same time! The device won’t connect to your phone if they are

1. Download the iOttie Connect app to make sure your Easy One Touch Connect has the most up-to-date firmware installed. The iOttie Connect app is available from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

2. Once firmware is updated, close the iOttie Connect App.
   

3. Download the Alexa app on your smartphone. The Alexa app is available from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
   

4. Log into the Alexa App with your Amazon account.

5. Go to the Device menu and tap + add a device.

6. In the setup, scroll down on the “All Devices” list and select “Headphones.”

7. Select “Done.”

There will be no visual cue on the screen that announces the connection except that the color of the light should be blue.
The Alexa app must be running in the background of your phone for the device to work. When app is reopened, it will reconnect automatically

Using Alexa on the Easy One Touch Connect

A wake word should always be used to ask Alexa anything. The wake word is simply “Alexa.”

1. The mute button on the back of the mount turns Alexa on and off.
2. Press and hold for 2-3 seconds to keep the device muted. Once placed in mute, the device will stay on mute.
3. Just press the mute button again (don’t hold) to turn Alexa on. Pressing the mute button can also be used instead of the Wake Word.
