180101 Cable Matters Modular Crimping Tool
Important Safety Information
Avoid Contact with Water
Do not use near water or moisture.
Handle with Care
Avoid throwing, dropping, or mishandling the crimping tool. Do not use the
crimping tool if it is damaged.
Avoid Extreme Conditions
Do not use in extreme cold or extreme heat.
Avoid Sharp Blades
The cable crimper contains sharp blades. Do not touch the blades. Keep fingers
clear of the crimp cavities during use.
Disconnect From Equipment
Disconnect the cable from equipment and wall jacks before crimping the cable.
Usage Instructions
- Prepare the crimping tool by squeezing the handle until it stops moving, then open the handles.
- CUTTING MODULAR CABLE: Place the modular cable in the cutter and press down on the handle to cut cable to the desired length. Make sure the cable is cut straight across .
- STRIPPING MODULAR CABLE: Insert the cable into the two-bladed side of the stripper tool. For 4P/6P cable, insert the cable until it touches the stop guide. For 8P/10P cable, insert the cable and allow it to extend past the lower cut blade . Squeeze the handle and pull the cable out from the tool to strip the cable.
- Remove the outer jacket of the cable and insert the cable into a modular plug . 8x modular plugs are included. Make sure the wire configuration matches the modular plug.
- Place the modular plug and cable into the corresponding jack on the crimping tool. Make sure the stripped wire is between the tab and the gold contacts. Squeeze the handle until it stops.
- Remove the crimped plug from the tool .
