Frequently Asked Questions
-
Does this support HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2)?
No. Supports v1.4 which apparently means it will not transmit sound with the USB-C to the HDMI adaptor I planned to pair it with. -
Does this work on Nintendo Switch?
Yes it does. -
Do this cable retracts on its own after pulling and letting go or is there a button I would have to push to retract it?
Pull it and let it go to retract it. No button. -
Can you stream Netflix, Amazon, ESPN videos from your laptop to a hotel TV? (Any app restrictions?)
You should be. It’s basically a cable. If your app has restrictions it would be the same as any other cable. -
Would this work for video game consoles?
If your console has an HDMI then yes! I use mine for my PS4 all the time. -
Does it retract only by pressing the center button or can you pull gently then release the cable to retract it as well?
**** There is no center button. To extend the cable simply pull it out to the desired length and let go after one of the clicks for it to lock in place, or to retract the cable pull on the cable gently until you hear a click then the cable will begin to wind up inside the body of the housing. -
Does this come with the HDMI wire?
**** It is an HDMI wire. The wire is what retracts into the central casing so you can make it as long or as short as you need it to be so that excess cable is minimized. -
Does this support 4k at 60hz? Other retractables on Amazon support 4k30hz and the vendor website isn’t this specific.
Yes, it can support up to 4Kx2K@60Hz. -
Will this work for a Bluray player?
Yes it will. Should work for any HDMI device. -
Can you pull on just one end or do you have to do both at the same time?
You will have to pull both ends to extend or retract at the same time. -
Anyone has a retractable 3.5mm power cable with an Apple connection on one end and USB on the other?
We don’t have such a power cable.
-
What HDMI standard does it work? 1.4, 2.0 or 2.1?
I don’t know, but it works fine with a new TV and Dish Network, and the manufacturer claims HDR & 4k support.
