WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read these instructions carefully prior to starting up the unit!
The water system on which the operation of this product is based requires utmost care and maintenance, possibly also the use of chemicals, in order to prevent and keep the occurrence of micro-organisms and harmful bacteria, especially legionellae that are responsible for legionnaire’s disease, under control. Non-observance of this information about correct maintenance and care can entail the spreading of harmful bacteria. Due to the fact that for decorative purposes, water nozzles distribute water in the air, water droplets containing harmful bacteria can enter your lungs and cause life-threatening diseases.
It is the responsibility of the owner of the water system and its attendant units to ensure their maintenance and care in compliance with the laws, directives, and instructions laid down for this purpose. In order to avert harmful contamination, we urgently recommend the user to ensure cleaning and care of the water system and the water feature including the nozzle, and to take all necessary measures to maintain the technical units, such as pumps, tubing, connectors, underwater lighting, and nozzles to keep them in functional order in line with safety aspects. However, the maintenance and care obligation is not limited to the technical products supplied but encompasses the entire system.
We also recommend the owner keep records of the dates when maintenance and care were carried out and to document all water tests made in conjunction with the water feature. The owner is solely responsible for guaranteeing the safety of the water feature. Use or maintenance of the units sold and the system are beyond GeoGlobal Partner’s influence. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

For maximum water flow, it is recommended that the largest tubing size for your pump is used. If using 3/4 in. ID tubing, skip stepping 2.
Step 1. If using 1 in. ID tubing, trim the tubing adapter using a hacksaw at the location indicated.
Step 2. Place the tubing adapter on the lower hole of the tank and use a gasket for it to be sealed tightly when fastened. Hand-tighten the locking ring inside the tank to secure the tubing adapter in place.

Step 4. Place the fine (blue) filter pad inside the tank. Then place the coarse (black) filter pad inside the tank.
Step 5. Place the tubing adapter on the upper hole of the tank and use a gasket for it to be sealed tightly when fastened. Place the small adapter and small gasket inside the tank and hand-tighten the locking ring to secure everything in place.TotalPond 52236 Pond Filter with UV Clarifier -

Connect the tubing from the UV clarifier to the small adapter.
Step 6. Turn over the filter cover and locate the groove along the outside edge of the raised surface. Inspect the o-ring to find the flat edge. One side will have a curve and the other side will be flat. Insert the flat side of the o-ring down as you place it into the groove.

Step 7. Turn the cover with the o-ring back over and place it in the opening in the filter.
Step 8. Screw the lid onto the top of the tank. Make sure the lid is secure or the filter will leak.
Step 9. Connect the UV Clarifier to a properly grounded electrical outlet.

Step 10. Wait several seconds then check the indicator light to verify if the UV bulb is functioning properly.
NOTE: This UV clarifier includes a safety feature that will not allow the light to turn on if the lamp holder or locking ring is not securely fastened.
Step 11. Unplug your pump from an electrical source before connecting the tubing. Connect tubing from the outlet of the pump to the inlet of the filter (upper hole). Return water to the pond by connecting tubing to the outlet of the filter and to the inlet of a water feature or return to the pond. You can reconnect your pump into a properly grounded electrical outlet at this time.
Note: Pump and tubing are not included.

MAINTENANCE

UV Clarifier
To maximize the performance of the UV clarifier, periodically disassemble the filter to clean dirt and debris from the exterior of the glass tube and inside light housing. Check the UV bulb to make sure that it has not burned out. Replace the bulb as necessary, or after every season.

Step 1. Disconnect the UV Clarifier from the outlet. Allow sufficient time to pass for the light to cool before disassembling the light.

Step 2. Rotate the locking ring counterclockwise to remove the lamp holder. Step 3. To replace the bulb, remove the bulb holder. Carefully remove the old bulb by pulling firmly on the base. Carefully install the new bulb and put the bulb holder back in place.
Step 4. Reinstall the lamp holder and locking ring. NOTE: This UV clarifier includes a safety feature that will not allow the light to turn on if the lamp holder or locking ring is not securely fastened.TotalPond 52236

Step 5. Reconnect the UV Clarifier to the power source.
Wait several seconds for the light to turn on. Check the indicator light to verify if the light is functioning correctly.

Pressure Filter

  • The Pond Filter may require cleaning from time to time for optimal performance.

  • Before cleaning, always disconnect the pump from the power source that is connected to the filter.

  • Remove the filter pads and clean them with water when they are visibly soiled.

  • Return the filter pads with the fine filter pad (blue) in first, and the coarse filter pad (black) on top.
NOTE: The bio-balls contain beneficial bacteria. At least once a year the entire system should be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly using warm water. This should not be done during the warm season as it may take up to 8 weeks to re-establish the environmental balance. The best time of the year to “break down” your system is in early spring before the water temperatures begin to rise. This is also the ideal time to replace the filter pads.

  • Filter pads should be replaced annually or when visibly deteriorating. Use TotalPond ® Replacement Filter Pads item #52232 (#RF13026) for a new fine and coarse filter pad.

  • Reconnect the pump to the power source when you are finished.

TROUBLESHOOTING

IF THE UV LIGHT FAILS TO OPERATE:

  • Check to make sure that the lamp holder is screwed completely into the body. (This product will not operate unless it is fully assembled with the lamp holder screwed completely into the body.)
