SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • For outdoor use.

  • Incorrect installation, adjustment, modification, servicing, or maintenance can result in the risk of personal injury and/or material damage. The gas heater must be installed and the gas cylinder stored in accordance with the instructions and local regulations.

  • The installation should be carried out by qualified personnel and comply with local regulations.

  • Do not modify the gas heater in any way.

  • Keep children under supervision when they are in the vicinity of the gas heater.

  • Never use the gas heater unless all the guards and safety devices are installed.

  • Only use butane and propane gas, or a mixture of both

  • Only use the recommended type of gas cylinder.

  • The gas regulator and gas hoses must comply with the applicable regulations and local standards.

  • The outlet pressure of the gas regulator must comply with the requirements for the relevant gas category. Never use any other type of gas regulator than those recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Only replace the gas cylinder in a well-ventilated area, away from cigarettes, open flames, and other ignition sources.

  • Keep the control panel, burners, and air passages clean. Clean if necessary.

  • Do not block ventilation holes in the cylinder cover. Keep ventilation openings in the cylinder cover clean.

  • Avoid hot surfaces – the risk of burns and/or clothing igniting

  • Never place clothing or flammable materials on or near the heater.

  • Do not paint the radiation screen, control panel, or reflector.

  • Make sure that the gas heater does not blow over in the strong wind. Anchor the gas heater to the underlying surface to prevent it from blowing over.

  • Do not store or use petrol or other flammable substances on or near the gas heater.

  • Close the valve on the gas cylinder or gas regulator after use and before moving the gas heater.
    — Do not move the gas heater when in use.
    — Do not move the gas heater until it has cooled.

  • Check the gas heater immediately if any of the following occurs.
    — The heater does not heat.
    — Small pops are heard from the burner during operation. A weak pop when the burner goes out, however, is quite normal.
    — A gas smell while the gas flame tip turns yellow.

  • Immediately turn off the gas supply in the event of gas leaks.
    — Extinguish all flames.
    — Fix the leak before using the gas heater again.
    — Never use the gas heater if there is a gas leak.

  • Check at regular intervals that the gas regulator seal is correctly fitted and tight by checking for leakage.

  • Inspect and replace the gas hose as described in the instructions.

  • Make sure that the gas hose does not come into contact with hot surfaces— it can melt and start to leak, which can cause a fire and/or explosion.

  • Never do a leakage test with a naked flame. Keep away from sparks or naked flames, and do not smoke when checking for leakage — the risk of explosion, fire, death, personal injury, and/or material damage.

  • Do not use the gas heater before fixing a leak and before all connections have been rechecked for leakage.

  • Discard batteries in accordance with local regulations. Never put batteries in household waste, or expose batteries to naked flame — the risk of explosion.

POSITIONING

  • The use of this appliance in enclosed areas can be dangerous and is PROHIBITED.
  • This heater is for use outdoors or in amply ventilated areas.
  • An amply ventilated area must have a minimum of 25% of the surface area open.
  • Do not use the gas heater indoors — the risk of personal injury and/or material damage.
  • Flammable substances or objects must not be placed closer than 1 m above the gas heater and 1 m on all sides.
  • Place the gas heater on a level, solid surface. Anchor the gas heater to prevent it from blowing over.
  • Do not use the gas heater in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gas, or dust.
  • The gas regulator and gas hose must be placed so that there is no risk of tripping over them or chafing.
  • Turn off the gas heater and wait until it has cooled before moving it.

GAS

  • Only use propane or butane, or a mixture of these.
  • The installation must comply with applicable regulations for the storage and handling of LPG.
  • Have the gas supplier check the gas cylinder if it is dented, corroded, or otherwise damaged. Never use gas cylinders with damaged valve connections.
  • The gas cylinder must be positioned so that gas cannot accumulate around the bottle.
  • Never connect a non-approved gas cylinder to the heater.

WARNING!

  • Accessible parts can be hot.
  • Keep children at a safe distance.
  • Keep clothing and furniture away from the gas heater.
  • Wear safety gloves when handling hot parts.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Fit the wheels on the base plate with 4 M6x12 screws and 4 M6 flange nuts.

  2. Unscrew the lighter button, insert the battery, and screw on the lighter button again. Put the pins on the base plate in the holes on the bottom supports and press them in place. Screw the bottom supports and the base plate together with 4 M5x12 screws. Put the pins on the control unit in the holes n the top supports and press them in place. Screw the top supports and the control unit together with 4 3/16″ screws.

  3. Screw the strap on 2 of the bottom supports, behind the front panel, with 2 M5x12 screws.


  4. Put the other 4 supports in the bottom supports. Screw in place with 8 3/16″ screws.

  5. Fit the flame guard on the top supports with 8 3/16″ screws.

  6. Fit the reflector on the flame guard. Screw the 3 pin screws in place on the flame guard, place 3 06 washers on the pin screws, and put the reflector on the pin screws. Lock in place with 3 06 washers and 3 wing nuts.

  7. Carefully lift up the glass tube and put it in the hole in the middle of the top plate. Check that the black silicone ring is placed on the bottom end of the glass tube as shown in the figure. Put the glass tube through the hole in the underside of the plate and put the bottom end over the middle plate. Check that the glass tube is correctly positioned and fully covers the hole in the middle plate. To simplify assembly the black silicone ring can be placed on the middle plate before inserting the glass tube. Make sure that the edge of the glass tube rests firmly in the black silicone ring.

    The black silicone ring must be fitted before starting the product.

  8. Fit the guards by hooking the hooks on the guards in the holes in the supports. Lock in place with the fasteners and 4 3/16″ screws.

  9. Fit the 3 side panels on the product with 18 3/16″ screws.

    Do not fit a panel on the front, where the knob is.

  10. Fit the knob with an M4x6 screw. Hang the chain in the hole in the control unit and put the front panel hook in the hole in the base plate.

  11. Connect the gas hose to the regulator and then connect the regulator to the gas cylinder.

  12. Secure the gas cylinder with the strap

LEAKAGE TEST

WARNING!

  • Check for leakage before using for the first time and then once a year, and also every time the gas cylinder has been been removed or replaced, and if any part of the gas system has been replaced.
  • Never do a leakage test with a naked flame. Keep away from sparks or naked flames, and do not smoke when checking for leakage — the risk of explosion, fire, death, serious personal injury, and/or material damage.
  1. Check for leakage before using for the first time and then once a year, and also every time the gas cylinder has been been removed or replaced, and if any part of the gas system has been replaced. Make sure there are no sparks or naked flames nearby and do not smoke when checking for leakage. See the figure for where to check for leakage. FIG. 13
  2. Turn all the control knobs to OFF.
  3. Open the gas valve.
  4. Check all the gas connections in the system, including all valve connections, hose connections, and regulator connections, by applying a soapy solution (equal parts of water and washing-up liquid) to them.
  5. Bubbles will form from any leaks. Try to tighten the leaking connection first. If this does not work, contact the retailer or allow an authorized gas technician to check the product.

WARNING!
Switch off the gas supply immediately if you cannot stop the leakage. Contact the retailer or allow an authorized gas technician to check the product. Do not use the product before fixing a leak, and before all connections have been rechecked for leakage.

HOW TO USE

INTENDED USE
The gas heater is intended for heating a limited area outdoors.

GAS HEATER CONTROLS

IGNITER: Lighting
PILOT: Pilot flame
OFF: Turned off
HIGH: Highest temperature
LOW: The lowest temperature

LIGHTING

WARNING!
Check before use that the window on the heater is intact.

  1. Turn on the valve on the gas supply cylinder completely.
  2. Press and turn on the variable control knob to the PILOT position.
  3. Press down the variable control knob and hold for 60 seconds. While holding down the variable control knob, press the igniter button several times until the pilot flame lights. Release the variable control knob after the pilot flame lights, and keep the control knob depressed for 30 seconds.
  4. Turn the variable control knob to HI (maximum) position and leave it there for about 5 minutes, then turn the variable knob to switch to desired temperature position.

NOTE:

  • A 5-minute complete shut-off period is necessary before re-lighting.
  • If a new gas cylinder has just been connected, wait at least a minute to ensure the air in the gas line has time to pass out through the pilot hole.
  • Keep the knob pressed down when you press the ignition button to ignite the pilot flame. Release the knob when the pilot flame lights.
  • Repeat step 3 if the pilot flame goes out or does not light.

TURNING OFF

  1. Turn the variable control knob to the PILOT position.
  2. Then press and turn the variable control knob to the OFF position.
  3. Turn off the valve on the gas supply cylinder to shut down the heater completely.

MOVING THE GAS HEATER

NOTE:
The gas heater must have been switched off and cooled before moving it. The valve on the gas cylinder must be closed when moving the gas heater. 1. Carefully tilt the gas heater towards you so that it rests on the wheels. 2. Get a firm grip on the gas heater and carefully roll it. 3. Carefully raise the gas heater to an upright position.

MAINTENANCE

  • Inspect the gas hose at least once a month, when replacing the cylinder, and before putting the gas heater away or starting to use it after it has been stored. Replace the gas hose with a hose of the same quality and length if it is damaged.
  • Check the entire gas system (gas hose, gas regulator, pilot flame, burner, etc.) for damage and leakage before each use. The entire system should be inspected by qualified personnel at least once a year.
  • Keep the burner clean to avoid danger.
  • Clean painted surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use flammable or corrosive detergents.
  • Repairs must be carried out by an authorized service center.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

  1. Unscrew the switch.
  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Put in a new battery. Check the correct polarity.
  4. Screw the switch back on.

WARNING!
Keep the battery away from children — the risk of suffocation if the battery is swallowed. Seek medical attention immediately if the battery is swallowed.
STORAGE

  • Always fully close the gas valve after use and after any interference.
  • Remove the gas regulator and gas hose.
  • Cover the gas heater when it has cooled and is not in use.

WARNING!

  • Never store gas cylinders in a basement or in rooms with inadequate ventilation.
  • Never store gas cylinders near the gas heater, except for the cylinder that is connected to the heater.
  • The storage of gas cylinders must comply with local regulations.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause Action
The pilot flame will not light. Closed gas valve. Open the gas valve.
The gas cylinder was empty. Replace with a full gas cylinder.
Clogged valve. Clean or replace the valve.
Air in the gas system. Bleed all lines.
Loose connections. Check all connections.
The pilot flame lights but goes out. Dirt around the pilot burner. Clean.
Loose connections. Tighten the connections.
Damaged thermo element. Replace the element.
Leaking gas line. Check the connections.
Low pressure. The gas cylinder was empty. Replace with a full gas cylinder.
The burner will not light. Low pressure. The gas cylinder was empty. Replace

with a full gas cylinder.
Clogged valve.| Remove and clean.
The knob is not in the ON position.| Turn the knob to the ON position.
Damaged the rmo element.| Replace the element.
Bent pilot burner unit.| Adjust the pilot burner unit.
Unsuitable position for a gas heater.| Place in the correct position and try again.

NOTE: Never attempt to dismantle or repair the gas heater yourself. Contact a qualified service technician if you have a problem.
