DESCRIPTION
Solar cell light with separate solar cell unit that connects to the light with
a 3 m long cable. Integrated LED light source. Switches on with drawstring.
Wall fastener included. Runs on three rechargeable AA batteries (included).
Made of plastic.
POSITIONING
Put the solar cell panel outdoors in a place where it can receive at least eight hours of direct sunlight a day. The solar cell panel must be placed in direct sunlight, but the actual solar cell light can be placed in the shade.
CHARGE
- Charge the solar cell panel for the first time in direct sunlight for 6-8 hours with the solar cell light turned off. In this way the rechargeable battery will be able to reach full capacity. Charging during the day (around 8 hours) will enable the solar cell light to be lit for approximately 4 hours at night.
- During daylight the solar panel converts the sunlight into energy which is stored in the chargeable battery.
NOTE:
- If the weather is cloudy, the battery will not be fully charged, which will result in shorter illumination times.
- If the solar cell light does not work after 6- 8 hours of charging, check that the battery is correctly positioned with the proper polarity in accordance with the markings. Make sure that the poles are properly connected and are touching the terminals.
USE
- Mount the light fixture on the wall with two screws (included). Then place the light in the fixture and plug the cord into the solar cell panel to charge the battery.
- Pull the cord to turn the solar cell light on or off.
- The solar cell light turns off when the battery is low on charge. Only after the battery has been charged for a few hours will it be possible to turn on the solar cell light again by pulling the cord.
- When it is dark, the light turns on automatically and uses the energy that was stored during the day. How long the light will be on varies depending on the location, weather conditions and season.
- If the solar cell light is put in a shady place, the batteries will not charge fully, resulting in shorter illumination times.
- If there are strong light sources in the vicinity, the light from the solar cell light may turn off automatically, or may not turn on at all.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
- Clean the solar cell panel by wiping it with a soft cloth. Do not use an abrasive cloth or cleaning detergents, as these can cause damage.
- The solar cell light is intended for use outdoors but should be brought inside during bad weather conditions, such as heavy rain, heavy snowfall or temperatures below -6°C.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
If the solar cell light is weak or only functions for short periods of time, the chargeable battery should be replaced.
- Remove the lid from the battery compartment and take out the spent battery.
- Replace the spent battery with a new battery and place it in the compartment with the proper polarity in accordance with the markings.
- Replace the lid on the battery compartment.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the solar cell light does not work automatically after 6 hours of charging, check the following:
- Check that the battery is correctly inserted and touching the terminals.
- Check that the solar cell light has been placed in a sunny spot and that the solar cell panels are facing the sun in order to enable the battery to charge.
- Check that the solar cell panel is clean. If it is dirty, the battery cannot be charged. Wipe with a damp cloth or a paper towel.
