INSTALLATION

With the required battery included, Hoselink’s Water Flow Meter comes ready to use with both a 3/4” and 1” tap thread.
Simply screw directly on to your garden tap to use.
Please note the Water Flow Meter requires a minimum of 20psi water pressure to function accurately.
Press the green button on the front of the flow meter once to activate the screen. The LED screen will turn off when not in use to prolong the battery life. To re-activate, press the button on the front of the flow meter.

SET UP

The Water Flow Meter has four measurement options. Press the green button to cycle through these options. The current option will be displayed on the screen.

The options are as follows:

  1. Litres used – Measures water volume per watering session. Shown by an ‘L’ in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Average litres per day – Measures average water volume over a number of days. Shown by ‘AVG’ at the top and ‘L/D’ at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Total litres – Measures accumulated water usage volume separately to ‘litres used’. This means you can reset the litres used without affecting the total litre count. Shown by the word ‘TOTAL’ in the top left of the screen.
  4. Litres per minute – Based on water flow, this function will measure the average litres per minute. Shown by ‘L/Min’ in the bottom left and ‘AUTO’ in the top right of the screen.
To reset any of the options, navigate to the relevant screen and hold down the green button for three seconds.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Replacing the battery
Remove the central clear plastic unit from the body of the water flow meter by pressing in the tabs on either side to pop it out.
Once out, flip over and remove the silicone battery cover. Insert a new 3-volt CR2032 battery and replace the cover, making sure it is pressed flush with the casing.
Then, return the central unit to the body of the meter gauge, making sure the green button is at the bottom.
Water Flow Meter requires a 3-volt CR2032 button cell battery. These batteries can cause serious injury if swallowed. Dispose of safely! Store batteries out of reach of children!

Leaking
If there is a leak from the top of the flow meter. Make sure it is screwed on tightly at the tap. If this does not help, try replacing the washers.
Please note when replacing the 3/4” washer you will need to be careful that the fly wheel and retaining disk do not fall out.

Inaccurate measurement
This is often caused by a blockage in the fly wheel. Remove the washer, retaining disk and fly wheel. Be careful not to lose the little grey retaining disc. Rinse out any dirt or blockages in the fly wheel and re-assemble.
