Installation Instruction

STEP 1:

  • a. Starting at the end of the rod with the nipple, pass the supply wires and the ground wires through the rod and the fixture loop.
  • b. Thread the fixture loop, the rod and the socket assembly together as shown.
  • C. Hand tighten until snug.

STEP 2:

  • a. Secure the Crossbar Assembly to the outlet box (not included) with Outlet Box Screws.
  • b. Tighten until snug.

Note: The preassembled mounting nipple on the crossbar should protrude outward.

STEP 3:

  • a. Remove the pre-assembled canopy lock ring from the crossbar assembly.
  • b. Temporarily attach the ceiling canopy to the pre-assembled nipple on the crossbar assembly.
  • c. Secure with canopy lock ring.

Note:

If the ceiling canopy is not snug against the ceiling, remove it from the crossbar assembly and adjust the length of the pre- assembled nipple by unscrewing the pre-assembled hex nut. Screw the nipple in or out of the crossbar until the correct length is achieved. Then, re-attach the ceiling canopy.

STEP 4:

  • a. Choose desired hanging length for the light fixture. Suggested mounting height over a table or island is 30 inches from the table/island top to the bottom of the fixture.
  • b. Adjust the Fixture Chain to the desired length, removing links if needed.
  • c. Connect one end of the Fixture Chain to the canopy chain loop preassembled to Crossbar Assembly with one Quick Link.
  • d. Connect the other end of the Fixture Chain to the fixture loop with the remaining Quick Link.

Note: You may need to use pliers (not included) to open the links of Fixture Chain. If so, put a cloth over the Fixture Chain to protect the finish from the pliers. Suggested chain length to hang fixture 30 inches above table top:

  • 8-ft. Ceiling: 6 inches of chain + 2 quick links
  • 9-ft. ceiling: 18 inches of chain + 2 quick links
  • 10-ft. ceiling: 30 inches of chain + 2 quick links
  • 11-ft. ceiling: 42 inches of chain + 2 quick links
  • 12-ft. ceiling: 54 inches of chain + 2 quick links

STEP 5:

  • a. Confirm that the mounting height is acceptable. Temporarily attach one glass shade, refer to STEP 9. Once height is confirmed, remove the shade. Refer to STEP 4 if changes to mounting height are required.
Note: To make the next step easier, cut the supply wire and ground wire 24 inches longer than the distance from the fixture loop to the ceiling. Important: Please pay attention to the polarity (wires labels L & N) when cutting wires. Wire identification will be needed in STEP 7.

  • b. Pull the Supply Wires and Ground Wire up through the Fixture Chain alternating links.

  • c. Push the ends of the supply wires and ground wire up through the canopy chain loop and into the outlet box. The remaining slack wire will be pushed into the outlet box in STEP 7.

STEP 6:

  • a. Unthread the canopy lock ring.
  • b. Slide canopy lock ring and ceiling canopy down the quick link.
  • c. Push all slack fixture wire through canopy chain loop and into the outlet box.
  • d. Trim excess fixture wire leaving a minimum of 6 inches hanging out of the outlet box.
  • e. Separate the smooth side and ribbed side of the supply wire to about 3 inches from the end.
  • f. Using wire strippers, strip each wire ½ inch from the end.

STEP 7:

  • Use Wire Connectors (supplied) to connect the wires.

    • a) Ground Wire:
      1. Wrap supply ground wire around the green ground screw on the mounting bracket, no less than 2 in. from the end of the wire. Tighten ground screw.
      2. Connect fixture ground wire to supply ground wire with a wire connector.
    • b) Supply Wire:
      1. Connect the house white wire to the fixture supply wire (ribbed-sided) from the fixture identified with the label “N”

      3. Wrap each connection with approved electrical tape and carefully stuff all of the connected wires into the outlet box.

STEP 8:

  • a. Attach the ceiling canopy back over the canopy chain loop.
  • b. Secure with canopy lock ring.

STEP 9:

  • a. Align the holes on the shade to the threaded holes on the socket.
  • b. Secure the Shade by threading the Stems onto the threaded holes.
  • c. Hand tighten until snug.
