TAILPIECES (THREADED/DIRECT/SLIP JOINT)
814B-1 Dearborn in Brass Tubular Branch Tailpieces

Measure and cut the tailpiece to the desired length.
Deburr the tube end. -
Connect the tailpiece to the drain outlet.
a. For threaded tailpieces: Wrap the threads with a thread seal tape.
b. For flanged tailpieces: Slide the nut up the tube and insert the flanged washer into the flanged tailpiece.
c. For slip joint tailpieces: Slide the nut then washer over the existing tailpiece. Slide the slip joint over the end of the tube. -
Tighten the nut, being sure not to overtighten.

If there is a dishwasher branch, connect the dishwasher discharge hose to the branch on the tailpiece and secure with hose clamps.

Check for leaks. If leaks occur, tighten another ¼ turn.

Install the P-trap, connecting to the tailpiece outlet.
