Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Layout and Measurement
Prior to installation, create a layout plan for the heating cable placement. Choose a suitable location for the thermostat, avoiding direct sunlight. Ensure the wiring does not come into direct contact with the power supply wire of the heating cable. Verify the cable’s resistance values before installation. Test the heating cable using a multimeter or floor damage sensor to ensure integrity.
Step 2: Prepare the Subfloor
Clean the subfloor thoroughly to ensure a smooth and even surface for installation.
Step 3: Mounting the Cable in the QH-Grid System
Place the provided heating cable, preferably in a zigzag pattern, within the QH-Grid system. Avoid crossing or placing cables closer than 6cm apart to maintain optimal performance. The spacing between cables determines the heating power per square meter. For the cable end, create an opening in the QH-Grid for proper terminal joint installation.
Installing Floor Sensor
Create two slots in the wall for sensor installation. The included floor sensor, with a length of 3 meters, should be placed between the QH-Grid and heating cables to measure floor temperature accurately. Do not cut or extend this sensor.
FAQ
- Q: What should I do if my multimeter shows an O.L. message?
- A: If your multimeter displays O.L., indicating a cable break, contact Quality Heating customer service immediately for assistance.

Instruction
Step 1 : Laying schedule and measurement data
Making an installation schedule is the first step before you start laying the
underfloor heating cable. You can decide where you want to hang the
thermostat, but it is better not to place it directly in sunlight. The best
place to hang the thermostat is as close as possible to the floor to be
heated, at a height of approximately 1.5 meters. The wiring should not make
direct contact with the power wire of the underfloor heating cable. Check
the cable measurement data (Resistance values)
Each Quality Heating cable has been carefully tested before leaving the
factory and is well packaged to prevent damage during transport. There may be
damage from transport or storage. That is why you are always obliged to test
the underfloor heating cable before installation and during installation.
Before the finishing layer and afterwards, this can be done with a multimeter
or with a floor damage sensor.
Type | Ampere | Ohmic value | Cable length |
---|---|---|---|
100 watts | 0,43 | 534Ω | 55.5 meters |
150 watts | 0,6 | 378Ω | 8.30 meters |
200 watts | 0,8 | 263Ω | 11.1 meters |
300 watts | 1,3 | 169,7Ω | 16.7 meters |
400 watts | 1,7 | 131,6Ω | 22.2 meters |
500 watts | 2,1 | 104,3Ω | 27.8 meters |
600 watts | 2,6 | 86,1Ω | 33.3 meters |
700 watts | 3,0 | 77,1Ω | 38.9 meters |
800 watts | 3,4 | 68,6Ω | 44.4 meters |

1400 watts | 6.0 | 39.3Ω | 77.7 meters |
1600 watts | 6.9 | 32.9Ω | 88.8 meters |
1800 watts | 7.8 | 30.3Ω | 100 meter |
2000 Watts | 8.7 | 26.1Ω | 111 meters |
2400 watts | 10.43 | 21.7Ω | 133.2 meters |
The Ohmic value may deviate by a maximum of 10%. If you receive an OL message on your multimeter, there is a broken cable. Please contact Quality Heating customer service immediately.
Step 2: Clean the surface
Make the surface thoroughly clean and free of grease. Place the DCM-PRO system
on your subfloor, concrete, cement deck or wooden subfloor. Optionally
available edge insulation to prevent the floor from expanding. Place this edge
insulation at the edge. Make sure that the DCM-PRO system is 1cm away from the
side. For an installation video go to our website or YouTube. Title. QH-Grid
underfloor heating installation.
Edit
The QH-Grid system is not self-adhesive and must be attached to the ISO-6
insulation boards with our tile adhesive. The QH-Grid system can be cut to
size with a Stanley knife or with scissors. If possible with the installation
height, we recommend the following construction of the system for minimal heat
loss.
- Glue ISO-64 insulation boards 6,10,20 mm with tile adhesive on your cement deck/concrete subfloor and screw and glue on a wooden subfloor.
- H-Grid system 4.5mm, to be glued to the ISO-64 plates -Your floor finish, see step 4.
Step 3 : Place the mounting cable in the QH-Grid system
The supplied underfloor heating cable on a reel can easily be placed in the QH-Grid system. This should be attached as a zigzagging pattern. The cables should NEVER cross each other or be placed closer than 6cm apart. The mutual cable distance determines the power per m2.
Terminal joint
For the end of the underfloor heating cable, make a notch in the QH-Grid.
Calculate cable distance
For example, you want to heat your bathroom of 3M² with a power of 450Watt
(3M²: 450Watt x 18Watt per meter = 0.119). In this case, the cable distance
will be 11 cm. The cable distance therefore determines the power per M².
- 100 Watt/M²: Additional heating
- 160 Watt/M²: Bathroom, living room, bedroom
- 200 Watt/M²: Poorly insulated room
INSTALLATION
Floor sensor installation Make two slits in the wall.
- The supplied floor sensor has a length of 3 meters. This floor sensor must be placed between the QH-Grid and underfloor heating cables. This floor sensor measures the floor temperature. NB; this sensor should never be shortened or extended.
- Connection cable of the underfloor heating cable 230 Volt goes into the flex pipe, which is connected directly to the thermostat. Maximum connectable power is 3400 watts on the thermostat. Do you have multiple cable systems to 1 thermostat? We then recommend a central box in which 1 connecting wire is ultimately connected to the thermostat. NB; always use a 2.5mm square thickness connecting wire.
Step 4: Floor Finishing
You can start tiling directly on the QH-Grid system. For a proper installation, we always recommend applying leveling compound to the QH-Grid system. The levelling compound can be applied directly to this system. Do you have PVC, vinyl, laminate or wood and parquet as a floor finish? Then you are obliged to level.> For more information https://www.elektreeks- vloerverwarming.nl/mapei-ultraplan-maxi-egaline-vloerverwarming.html \
Step 5. Connect thermostat
EARTH: connect both the earth of the heating cable and the earth of the power
supply outside the thermostat, using a welding clamp. Mount the thermostat and
attach it to the flush-mounted box. Replace the finishing frame place the
display housing back into position and press it in place.
For use and programming of the thermostat, please refer to the instructions
included with the thermostat. Or http://www.elektreeks-
vloerverwarming.nl/informatie/
NB ; Do you have PVC, vinyl, laminate or wood and parquet as a floor finish? Then you are obliged to set a limit if the floor temperature is 28 degrees.
