USE

INTENDED USE

This product is intended for permanent installation for pumping water from non-pressurised sources of water (for example wells) for domestic and garden purposes in private households. Fresh water or rainwater and chlorinated water (pools) can be pumped with the product. The product must only be used as it is intended to be used and in accordance with the technical data and other instructions in these instructions.

Incorrect/non-intended use

Continuous operation, pumping of drinking water, salt water, food, contaminated water or water containing sand or abrasive particles, corrosive liquids and chemicals, flammable or explosive liquids, volatile/gaseous liquids and liquids hotter than 35°C.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

The product must be connected to a correctly earthed power point protected with a residual current device that has a maximum tripping current of 30 mA.

IMPORTANT:
The inlet tube must be filled with water before starting the product.

Stopping

  1. Press the OK button. Press the power switch OK again to switch off the product when “Pump off” is shown.
  2. Pull out the plug.
  3. Open the tap to relieve the pressure in the outlet tube.

INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING

  1. Remove the product from the packaging and place it on a level, stable surface. The installation should be protected from rain and splashing water.
    FIG. 2

  2. Connect the suction hose to the water inlet and the outlet hose to the water outlet. Seal the connection with Teflon tape, if necessary.
    FIG. 3
    IMPORTANT:

    • The suction tube should be provided with a non-return valve to prevent return flow, which can cause the water in the product and the suction tube to empty when the product is not running. Any leakage will allow air to penetrate the system, which reduces the pumping capacity.
    • The suction tube should be provided with a pre-filter if the pumped water is contaminated or turbid, to avoid damaging the non-return valve and product.
    • The suction tube should consist of a reinforced hose with a 3/4” threaded connection that is not squeezed by the intake pressure.
    • The suction tube should have an uninterrupted inclination from the pump to the source of the water. No part of the suction tube should be higher than the pump, this can result in pockets of air.
    • Make sure that the inlet on the suction tube is always covered with water. Suction and outlet tubes should be installed so that the product is not subjected to mechanical stress.
  3. Open the refill opening cap and fill with water until it runs over. Replace the cap.
    FIG. 4
    IMPORTANT:

    • The outlet tube must withstand the maximum pressure of the product. Use a 1/2” outlet tube with a suitable screw coupling.

    • The product has an optimal pump capacity at a lifting height of up to
1 metre. Leaks on the pressure side can result in interference and malfunction. A pressure tank or similar pressure equalisation buffer should therefore be installed on the pump outlet.

    • In order to reduce the number of times the pump starts. To simplify emptying the system a shut-off valve should be installed between the product and the outlet tube, to prevent the water in the pressure tube running out.

    • Even minor leakage can lead to malfunction.

  4. Drain the water from the product by opening the drain on the pump.
    FIG. 5

  5. Open the transparent cover, take out the filter and clean it.

    EXPLANATION OF DISPLAYMEEC-TOOLS-015275-1300W-Garden-Pump-
fig8

    • To fill the pump with water (vent) open the refill plug and pour water in until the inlet tube and pump housing are full of water. If despite filling the level of water does not reach the refill opening then the non-return valve is probably defective and must be replaced. Open all the taps, valves etc. when filling with water so that the air in the tubes can flow out.
      NOTE:
Do not run the product without water other than temporarily – dry running reduces the life span. Damage resulting from running dry is not covered by the warranty.
  6. Replace the cap over the refill opening when the pump housing is full of water and firmly tighten.

  7. Plug the plug into an earthed power point.

  8. Make sure that all the valves in the intake and pressure tube are open –the pump must not run with closed valves.

  9. Start the product with the power switch. Switch off the product after use with the power switch.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING!

  • Electrical safety! Pull out the plug before working on the product.
  • Risk of personal injury. Make sure that the product and all connected devices are pressureless before working on the product.

CLEANING

  • The pump must be flushed with fresh water if chlorinated water or water containing sedimented contaminants is pumped.
  • To remove clogging or blockage, remove the suction tube from the pump inlet, connect the water hose to the pump inlet, and run the product until the blockage is removed. Reconnect the suction tube afterwards and test.
  • Keep the ventilation openings on the motor clean and make sure they are not blocked.

DISMANTLING AND STORAGE

  1. Switch off the product and pull out the plug.
  2. Open the tap on the outlet tube and wait until all the water has run out.
  3. Empty the product by unscrewing the drain plug underneath the pump.
  4. Disconnect the suction tube and pressure tube from the product.
  5. Store the product frost-free (at least 5°C).
    IMPORTANT:
Risk of material damage. All the seals should be replaced if the product is dismantled.

Frost

Take the following measures if there is a risk of frost. Undo the drain screw under the pump outlet and allow all the water to run out from the pump. If very low temperatures are expected the pump should be disconnected, emptied and then stored in a dry and frost-free place.
IMPORTANT:
Risk of material damage. The product and its accessories contain water, which means that they can burst if the water freezes.

SERVICE AND REPAIRS

The product must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare parts. This will ensure that the product remains safe to use.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The troubleshooting guide on the next page is used to identify the causes of common problems and how they can be rectified. Contact the retailer if the problem cannot be rectified with the help of the troubleshooting guide. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from repairs or attempted repairs carried out by unauthorized persons.

WARNING!
Risk of personal injury. Repairs that are not carried out correctly can result in the risk of fatal or serious personal injury and/or material damage.
