Product Usage Instructions
-
Application:
The Pollerleuchte Bollard Balise is designed with single-sided light output and asymmetrical shielded light distribution. The light is directed downwards, ensuring the greatest degree of illuminance near the luminaire. -
Safety:
Installation and operation must adhere to national safety regulations. Only qualified electricians should perform installation and commissioning to prevent damage due to improper use or installation. -
Overvoltage Protection:
The luminaire’s electronic components are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. For additional protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended. -
Installation:
Handle LED light output carefully during installation to avoid direct contact. Ensure the base of the luminaire is not below the top edge of the mounting surface. Use the provided mounting materials to secure the luminaire to a foundation or anchorage unit.
FAQ:
-
Q: What should I do if I need to make modifications to the luminaire?
A: Any modifications should be carried out by a qualified professional, and the person responsible for these modifications will be considered the manufacturer. -
Q: How can I achieve optimal protection for the electronic components in the luminaire?
A: Use bounce-free switching contacts like an electronic relay (solid-state relay) for ideal protection. For specific recommendations, refer to BEGA 71
Application
- Bollard with single-sided light output and asymmetrical shielded light distribution.
- The light is directed downwards and is completely shielded above the horizontal. The greatest degree of illuminance is generated near the luminaire.
Dark Sky
The light of this luminaire is directed evenly and highly efficiently onto the
surface to be illuminated. No light is emitted into the upper half-space of
the luminaire.

Safety
- The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations.
- Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
- The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation.
- If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.
Overvoltage protection
- The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage by DIN EN 61547.
- To achieve additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.
- You can find them on our website at www.bega.com.
- The ideal protection of all electronic components installed in the luminaires is achieved by using bounce-free switching contacts such as an electronic relay (solid-state relay), e.g. BEGA 71 320.
Installation
LEDs are high-quality electronic components!
- Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
- The base of the luminaire must not be below top edge of the mounting surface.
- A cable length of about 300 mm above the mounting surface is sufficient for the electrical connection of the luminaire.
- The connection box allows through-wiring of the luminaire.
- Remove the mounting plate in the base of the luminaire by undoing the screws.
- Using the provided mounting materials or other suitable mounting materials, screw-fit the mounting plate to a foundation or anchorage unit 71 890.
- Open the connection box.
- Lead the main supply cable into the connection box. Make earth conductor connection and electrical connection.
- Lead the luminaire connecting cable through the compression nipple into the connection box. Make earth conductor connection and electrical connection.
- Observe the correct configuration of the connecting cable. Connect the earth conductor to the green-yellow wire (PE), the live conductor to the brown wire (L) and the neutral conductor to the blue wire (N).
- The connection of the control cables is achieved using both leads marked with DALI.
- In case these leads are not used the luminaire will be operated at full light output.
- Close the connection box.
- Place the luminaire onto the mounting plate, adjust and fix it.
