• Long Reach Pliers
• Panel Removal Tool Set
• Torx 30 Wrench/socket

Product Usage Instructions

Removal

1. Remove the screws from the tailgate liner with a torque of 28 lb. in (3.2 Nm).
2. Remove the tailgate liner.
3. Remove the screws from the inner panel with a torque of 28 lb. in (3.2 Nm).
4. Remove the inner panel.
5. For vehicles with a Flexible Step:
6. Remove the screws from the panel with a torque of 71 lb. in (8 Nm).
7. Remove the tailgate liner.
8. Remove the nuts with a torque of 71 lb. in (8 Nm).
9. Disengage push pin retainers from the tailgate using a non-marring trim tool and remove the applique.

Tools Needed

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details. Vehicles without Flexible Step

1. Remove the screws from the tailgate liner. Torque: 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)
2. Remove the tailgate liner.
3. Remove the screws from the inner panel.
   • Torque: 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)
4. Remove the inner panel.
   • Vehicles with Flexible Step
5. Remove the screws from panel.
   • Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
6. Remove the tailgate liner.
7. Remove the nuts.
   • Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
8. NOTE: Platinum tailgate applique shown, all others similar.
   • NOTE: Use care when disengaging push pins from tailgate to avoid damage to the applique.
   • Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the push pin retainers from the tailgate and remove the applique.
9. Install the (29) plastic clips to back of applique
10. Install the (2) threaded stud fasteners and (4) foam washers (to be reused from original part)

Install the Applique Panel

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Fasten the (2) emblems to applique, clean surface with rubbing alcohol prior to adhering emblems.
