For Mobile Nurse Call

Systevo Connected Life Care for Mobile Nurse Call is a mobile application developed by Honeywell Intelligent Life Care (ILC), and is designed for the nursing staff working in hospital wards. This application represents a communication tool that allows caregivers to communicate with patients. Thanks to this solution, the hospital reaches and increases the response efficiency and can faster, and also more accurately, accommodates patients’ requirements. This results into direct benefit for caregivers, as they can work more efficiently by using Systevo Connected Life Care to manage patients calls in a more flexible, faster, and convenient way, while reducing their workload, as well as the walk time, and freeing up this time to be used for direct patient care, which may help increase patient satisfaction.

This solution represents an extension of the ILC Systevo Call Ackermann1 traditional nurse call system. It allows caregivers to receive the patient calls on a work mobile device anytime, anywhere on the move. The caregiver can assign the incoming call to herself/himself, informing at the same time the rest of caregivers in the shift, who can see the patient call is being cared for. Thereby the rest of the staff can focus on the other work-related activities. To increase the comfort for both patient and the nurse, along with providing immediate alerts notification, after receiving the patient call caregivers can immediately use the “callback” intercom function to provide quicker assistance and care through voice communication. This allows the caregiver to immediately address patients’ needs who do not require a nurse´s physical presence in the room.

Systevo Connected Life Care is designed for being used on smartphones and becomes a far better solution when installed on a Honeywell enterprise mobile device specially developed for the healthcare environment (ex. EDA52HC, CT30 XP, or similar). These devices incorporate a scan engine that provides a wide scope of use for the hospitals, and meet most of the requirements in healthcare facilities, especially in regards to battery life and special surface treatment that allows for easy disinfection.

TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

Systevo™ Connected Life Care for Mobile Nurse Call solution splits into two main parts: a back-end, consisting of the Systevo Connected Life Care Services manager, running in combination with the on-perm Systevo Call system server2, and the front-end mobile app, which is available through the Google Play app store.

On-prem Systevo Connected Life Care Services server software deployment, with encrypted patient calls data not exposed to cloud, offers a higher level of cyber-security, and this is even enhanced when used in combination with mobile app running on Honeywell approved Enterprise-Grade smartphones.

A quick, intuitive, and user-friendly log-in process enables caregivers to start receiving patient calls as push notifications on the mobile devices where the app is installed, and user interface theme can be also customized in a flexible way to fulfill different users’ preferences and shorten learning curve for new users. Dark mode is also available to be used during the night shift, helping to prevent the light from the smartphone screen from disturbing patients.

Mobile app users can easily log-in by scanning an on-boarding QR-code generated by system administrator or using an authorized username and password. SSO integration is also possible on request (optional; project basis). Once logged, user is allowed to select his/her corresponding ward from the list of authorized wards. The areas/wards are assigned to users by system administrator via the web-based management tool. This ensures caregivers can be focused on the patient requests from their specific wards, and avoids them to be distracted by the incoming notifications from other wards.

For higher security and audit purposes, all log-in sessions are registered by default.

For increased flexibility, Systevo Connected Life Care is available with basic functionalities (mobile patient calls reception and call assignment), which can be easily expanded anytime by using the corresponding software licenses (ex. callback intercom for voice communication with patients, nr. of users, etc.), which allows this solution to fulfill the different requirements either in hospitals and nursing homes, with the aim to ensure optimal patient care and support caregivers on the patient-oriented workflows.
